    These exercises are great! That spiraling edge exercise, I got a two-foot version from my current coach, and I'll try the one foot version next time.

    I love deep edges cos it looks beautiful. However, will there be another video about safety precautions, if any, in doing deep edges? It feels like potentially something learners had better beware in advance, doesn't it?

      I agree you should take care when going for deep edges. I also think our instinct with gravity will tell us when we’re close the line we don’t want to cross. I’ve certainly been there a few times 😂

    Thank you for these helpful tips, as always! In a future video, could you perhaps explain a bit regarding the different options for sharpening & which ROH would be ideal for general levels of skating? I currently have a 1/2 inch hollow, & am working on silver skills in the US adult test track; wondering when or if I need to change my sharpening. Thanks ⛸️

      I think the most important thing to remember is that Skate Sharpening is really personal to each individual skater and the type of Ice that they typically skate on will also affect their preference of Sharpen. my best advice is to try hollow that is deeper and see how you get on because you won’t truly know if it is something that works for you until you try it. You can always go back 👍🏼

      1/2” is standard for beginners
      7/16” is standard for jumps and spins
      3/8” is a higher level of grip for super deep edges at speed (high level) but only for preference.
      I am a high level skater and coach about 30 hours on ice a week and I still have 7/16” 👍🏼

      Thank you! I may try 7/16" & see how it is. Really appreciate the input ✌️

    How would you recommend doing a run up for backwards edge spiraling edges?

    • @iskatecoach
      @iskatecoach  5 месяцев назад +1

      Back crossovers or half lemons, I’d also start by having your free leg next to your skating foot 👍🏼

    Skates need to be proper sharp as well tho

      Yeh 💯 I’m not leaning into any deep edges on blunt skates 😂

    I am way better on my right side than left …I feel like my left skate blade is off centre compared to my right foot…I have a 1/2 size difference in feet but my skates are the same size

      It could be, have you had them checked by a skate shop?
