Having owned a number of Mercedes, I was particularly disappointed with the current EQ range . Its looks and range were poor.... This concept really makes a BRAND Statement. Which I actually like... A luxury brand needs a strong design which people can identify. Also... love the projected range. A Mercedes like this would definitely win me back.
@FocusnikTGR Glad you like your EQE. I have had 9 or 10 I totally dislike the EQ range. Certainly not because they are BEV. But because of their looks, their range and their battery packs. Their high prices are also not too appealing. However, if you don't research their data , batteries etc and just buy one, I guess they would certainly very nicely. Personally I am not interested in any of the current first EQ models. However, the redesigned and re engineered MK2 EQ range might be OK. As long as their battery chemistry is changed.
That is amazing, I didn't think they could make anything worse looking than BMW had been churning out but wow, Mercedes have done it! What a waste of time on that grille, try going for a walk next time.
Looks like a VW Golf doing an impersonation of a catfish while terrified. Not counting super cars, between Mercedes’ jelly bean shaped cars and BMW’s giant pig noses . . . I have to assume good years for Jaguar, Audi, & Alfa Romeo are coming. Lol.
@edmanne You are making the erroneous assumption that car buyers have taste. Most do not. Hence, building ugly cars has rarely been a problem for car makers.
Finally Merc are talking in terms of design, they should redesign the EQS and EQE too , cause for people who love attention will go for BMW, Rolls and Bentley
The current CLA is one of the most beautiful car designs I've ever seen, equally capable of being classy in the 250, and stonking menacing in the 45 AMG. I know this is a concept, but if these "attack beetle" visual details make the cut, the future CLA is dead to me.
I love the look of it and the battery/range info sounds promising. But the grill is not practica unless as someone said it has a force field to protect it.
It sounds like 21st century slavery when we judge cars by range. We used to pick cars because of price, size, power, quality, prestige etc but today governments make us pick cars by limitation like battery range. EV are scam and unfortunately not many have courage to say it.
Very beautiful car, in and out, away from the norm, the screen layout Is more appealing than the hyperscreen, but...they would ruin it just like how they did the EQS concept with the production model.
Hi! I've never owned a Mercedes, but I've had a car with the heart of a Mercedes - a Chrysler Crossfire! It was daring, playful, dynamic, comfortable and the design was worthy of its time! I want to bring it all back! And I would never allow Russian designers to get into the heart and brain of my car! These are very big reputational risks for Mercedes as a whole!
I'm not really made up with the interior. It's styling is similar to an American car from the 1950's with all that chrome. But if the exterior is anything like the final production car, then Merc are on to a winner.
Go look at the transition from the Vision EQS to the production one. I suspect that all that crime will be gone in the production model. Nobody like shiny surfaces all over your car that blinds you when the sun is shining the right way.
Mercedes: "Take one of those videos from the 50s where they ask what a futuristic house would look like and stick it in a car". Designers: "Got you fam"
I’m a huge Mercedes fan, had 2 different Mercedes in the past. Will not buy a new one until they bring back the style in the interior of the cars, stop putting tablets behind the steering wheel to make the car look cheaper than some Chinese trash, and stop make cars illuminated like 90-s discos…
Beautiful and interesting electric car concept from Mercedes. But that's the problem with conventional car manufacturer, it's (again) a concept while Tesla is already in since a while now.
⚠️ Dear Mercedes-Benz: Exterior. WOW. What a beautiful car. Poised. Modern. Elegant. Innovative without going crazy. It’s a Mercedes. My only plea: please don’t over-do it with the beloved 3-point star. Keep it sensible. Way too many stars in the exterior design… those headlights are lovely but maybe a bit too much of the star-theme. Interior… a jump from what we have now. I’m not sure about those plant or flower reliefs in the seats and the doors. I would like a more conservative interior. I know it’s a CLA but still. There are many things in the interior I wouldn’t be so happy to have it in the production car. To me the interior is not a good continuation of that gorgeous exterior. P.S. S-Class has the “problem” of the air vents reflection on the windscreen. Question. How’s that super shiny metal or metallic-looking material of the dashboard not reflecting terribly on the windscreen? I guess it does. AND also. How’s that material for extreme sunny climates going to fare and the amount of heat it will reflect??
Does anyone else think the bubble for cars is going to burst sometime in the future? Manufacturers know this too. They just keep coming up with whatever gimmicks to appeal to the emotional desire for the car to ensure people keep buying them. Is the practically factor getting less, in a sense that traffic jams, maintenance, parking, other costs are ruining the actual sense of having something. When will we hit the limit? (I don't want to sound like the doomsday bandwagon. Hypercritically I still love cars. Had a crappy old Trans Am when I was younger.)
Beautiful Mercedes Benz Concept CLA electric. the most beautiful and innovative thing in the car is the star headlights. The body design is beautiful. the interior design is beautiful, I like the screens, the steering wheel and the seats. This is a good competition for the Tesla Model 3 Highland.
Obviously the final car won't include most of what is shown here, but I said it before about an exterior element and it applies here...how much is the big daft interior screen going to cost when it breaks?! It's not like one button fails and you can't change the station on the radio, the whole damn dash has to be replaced!
The passing comment at the end "some ideas will be on production models soon" ! It's a bit like seeing photos of a woman you have met online. Then you meet her in the flesh, and find they are of her younger sister. I'll buy that concept car as it is. And just stick 100 AA batteries in it .
Why would you falsely state that the range will go further than any car on the market thus far when I can walk into any lucid motors showroom and purchase a lucid air with more range that this cla.
“This is really cool because it’s extremely new. We do it the first time here at mercedes and it will be in the production version” Why is paper interior cool again?
First impressions not good. First the hollows around the headlights are going to quickly fill with road c rap and be hard to clean, secondly way to low on the ground especially as these batteries don't react well to being damaged, how hot is it going to be in that car under that glass roof? No rear wiper again another ev built to a budget. Too much emphasis on cosmetic appearance and not enough on function?
Buy your last Used Mercedes now while you can still get them made with decent materials, anyone remember the "Bio-degradable" Wiring harnesses that Mercedes sold as all the rage some time back?... They seem to have very short memories...
I'm really looking forward to this car. However I'm slight uneasy about 5:50, what if the car randomly sent your phone an alert at like 2am, saying there's a child breathing in your car lol
I think it could use a few more 3 pointed stars
There’s almost none on the side!
They managed to miss the most important one - on the bonnet
@@jfletcher1029the entry classes and c class don’t get it

Needs some all over the glass lol.
The best part is that it has so many pointed stars, haptic buttons and lights. That's everything that matters!
I like it, shame the production models won't look anything like this!
I agree. They show us these concept but then production cars are so different 😢
The Evoque was the same as concept and that was radical. We might be surprised
Only Fisker deliver their concepts
The front design will be toned down in production version
@@notagain2856 I hope so, looks odd for a Merc.

4:00 absolutely stunning design from this angle
Two trends that are annoying in cars these days Heptic buttons and excessive lighting!

I don't know. A luxury brand with one logo looks chique and distinctive. Having soooo many logos look for me personally cheap.
Very pretty, not sure about the 'low price' - also the light up plastic box that 'represents' the car's computer is just that, a light up box
I like the flux capacitor!

Correction - the lucid air goes over 500 miles on a single charge so this doesn't have tge longest range of any ev on the market.
What a beautiful car! Mercedes design team are on the ball!
New line of effordable Mercedes... the front grill alone costs as much as a Fiat Punto.
That front better have a forcefield. It's going to be expensive to fix even a small bump.
Or learn to drive 😱
Good thing learning to drive avoids any rocks thrown up in the road 🤔
