  • After 3,363 kilometres on a Cannondale Lab71 Super-Six Evo review bike supplied by SRAM, and featuring the 2023 release of the Force AXS groupset, the time has come to return it.
In this video, I offer a few thoughts at the end of what has been a long test session of a lovely bike. There is plenty more to say - and still more content from my time on this time - but this is an off-the-cuff overview of some things that come to mind at the turnaround of my farewell ride.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I’ll do my best to get you some answers.

Awesome review. Bought the EVO 1 with new SRAM force. The bike is amazing and the group set super quiet. My frame is the standard weight bringing the total bike weight to 8kg for the size 61. Perhaps the best part of my purchase is value for money. I can’t think of another top brand whereby you can buy their latest frame tech w/ SRAMs newest group set for 6500 USD. I love your vids Rob. They are entertaining, insightful and visually stunning. Thanks!!

I purchased this bike with Shimano. The Shimano hoods are angled in and very comfortable. The bike in general is comfortable yet responsive. Cannondale did a good job. The headset cable routing is the best on this bike. I am also a fan of threaded bottom brackets and this played a role in my purchase decision. First time I am not riding a Specialized in 20+ years. It is a really good bike.

      Bill,
Thanks for the comments and the kind words about the videos. Glad that you like them.
Hope you enjoy your new bike when it arrives... be interested to hear how different the Lab 71 version of the bike is compared with your current Cannondale.
Don't hesitate to cough up a few comments after you've had some time on your new bike.

It’s amazing you didn’t drop a chain Rob. Maybe you weren’t shifting regularly enough in ‘race like’ conditions to fully test the FD. Its the Achilles heel of AXS and ETap Red before it and the reason why I feel both DA or UL are superior based on my experience with these SRAM and Shimano group sets. It’s no wonder SRAM are pushing 1 x.

Thanks for the review. I have a hi-mod on order (hopefully coming in July) but will be running Ultegra. After watching I’m confident I made the right choice. Any comment on its handling, especially on descents? Thanks in advance.

There’s a joke that the happiest man has a Japanese wife, an American house and a German car, but I think this man has it pretty damn good. Living and reviewing top end bikes while living in gorgeous Hawaii.
