You have the freedom to dream big in Mission Valley. Beef production, dairy operation, crop farming, or family ranch-the sky’s the limit at Moiese Valley Ranch. Lake County, Montana offers some of the best agricultural opportunities in the state as well as the best scenery. True, to its name, the Moiese Valley Ranch stretches across the fertile valley below the Mission Mountain Range that towers in the distance.
This pristine 2,425 Acre ranch in Charlo, Montana features a perfect balance of farmland, dairy facilities, native range land, and homestead acreage. The strategic layout maximizes each section to the fullest.
This 10 Acre dairy farm is equipped with state-of-the-art dairy facilities that can support up to a thousand head milking capacity. The immaculate double-15 parallel milking parlor is fitted with no-slip platforms, automatic sprayers and drains, rapid-exit stalls, and 72,000 pound storage tank.
A happy cow’s dream, the dairy includes free-stall barns for 750 cows, 850 covered sheds for young stock, a loafing shed for 100+ cows, and a maternity pen.
The current dairy farm breeds Holsteins for their unparalleled milk production. The facilities enable year-round breeding for continual milking, even in the winter months.
This turnkey dairy farm is well fitted for immediate operation, and it has a great foundation for dairy expansion, organic milk production, or beef cattle. Depending on diet, the large farm makes it possible to grow hay, corn, triticale, wheat, sorghum, barley and other crops for silage-enough feed for an all-in-one operation! Impressively, this dairy can provide enough milk for about 35,000 people per day!
In addition to the dairy farm, this versatile ranch boasts around 1,300 Acres of irrigated crop fields. A variety of crops flourish in the Big Sky State, including wheat, hay, alfalfa, lentils, potatoes, peas, beans, and many more.
Because of the lower elevation, Mission Valley has one of the most favorable farming climates in the state, making it possible to grow crops like corn that need warmer, milder temperatures.
Not to be outdone by the dairy, the well-equipped farm includes two 30,000-bushel grain storage bins, two silage pits, a commodity shed, a 20,000 gallons of fuel storage, along with all of the heavy machinery needed for planting and harvesting.
Finally, there are nearly 1,100 Acres of breathtaking native range land. Pheasants, white-tail deer, elk, and pronghorn antelope, and even the occasional grizzly bear call Lake County home, and you’ll regularly spot them grazing among the golden fields. This acreage works well for pastureland for cattle, too.
Four shaded homesteads located throughout the ranch offer a place to rest and enjoy the fruits of your labor. These homes are perfect for ranch employees, visitors, and families.
Each section of the ranch is easily accessible by maintained gravel roads. The dairy, farms, and homes are powered by electricity that runs along Gallagher Road and Dellwo Road. Morris Road runs in between sections of farmland, and you can follow that into the town of Charlo just to the East.
The farm is located less than one hour from the city of Missoula, Montana, known for its blue-ribbon trout fishing and spectacular natural beauty. Whether you enjoy arts and entertainment or rivers and trails, Missoula has it all.

Yea but it cost 6 million to make that revenue with today's feed cost.
Most dairy farms grow the bulk amount of what they need for feed
If you have 2000 acres and run a dairy farm, you don’t need no feed. You make it
It's more about the loan payment every year for the farm, equipment, maintenance, and hired help. And hoping the market stays good the length of the loan
Ain’t nothing better than country lifestyle
Let's talk about out of the 5 mill how much is left after taxes and the bills are paid and wait there more this place has a price tag of $17 million to buy it
That might be what’s left.
My numbers say that with today's feed and fuel cost , not to mention labor and insurance for employees and then the outrageous property taxes in Montana these days it will cost you between 6 and 7.9 million to make 5 million on that dairy farm.
I would imagine that 5m is gross and not net. You would have to be a prospective buyer with all your money in line to see the books on this operation.
No days off on a dairy farm.
There's nothing better than the country lifestyle.
Me gusto y lo quiero
Incredible
Any Ranch owner looking for a Manager then please do let me know. I am working as plantation manager and look after around 1200 acres of tea plantations, Black pepper, Cardamom and coffee. I am from India and want to move toMontana. I love nature , wildlife and farm life.
Would love to have that
I have to ask, who is your target market that is looking for large tracts of scrub grass?
As a guy with no experience with farming, 5 million does NOT sound like much, merely looking at the size of the lot and the different structures / number of cattle.
Cool. What’s your point?
Cool
Wooo!!
Operating expenses all-in = ?
how much it spend? though
Price
$17.4M
Cheer~~a large farm, especially in the western US and Canada, where cattle or other animals are bred and raised.😊
And the profit?
-1M.
How much for it please
I really doubt that most Farmers can't make that
Ok can I put a down payment of 10.000
Almost 4 sections hopefully it’s all irrigated !!! Or you’ll be milking only about 25 cows and buying all your feed !
If it's making you that much, why sale
5 million dollars of revenue, 0 dollars of profit. Heh-eh.
Just make your own
Invest in a pop filter
Hi. What is the asking price please. Call me
300 million $.
$300 million sounds about right !
