Another excellent adventure, Thomas. Loved that shot you made of the clouds during the windstorm. Very appropriate comment about not being able to do this forever, so make hay...... My favorite comment is "do as much as you can, for as long as you can, every day that you can". I turned 80 years old this week and I certainly can't do as much as I used to, but I still do as much as I can every day that I can. I try to take the camera out several times a week for wildlife and bird photography which I'm happy to share with my friends on FB.
That is a great remark about doing as much as you can. I find that my energy increases when the sun shines and when I am being productive with my cameras. Once those 2 things come together, I'm full of energy and I keep going. As soon as the weather turns and my productivity drops, I often fall in to a lull and sit on my computer all day 😕
you really should be proud. an oasis of calm in a world that seems to be so troubled at the moment, somewhere theres a bloke setting an example of using human nature and endeavour for positivity your a credit to humanity.
I love your aggressiveness towards your photography... Your photo's prove it's worth it...
I'm just back from fours days in Finnish Lapland. Nothing beats photography above the Arctic Circle in winter
I just love the image of the red and yellow tent 🤩
One of the best videos I've seen on "landscape" photography. Your shots/vision were exquisite. When the snow "squeaks" and is hard like that you know it's cold. Bravo Thomas.
That's quite a bold statement, but I'll take it 🙂 Thank you so much, and yes, it was very cold 😬
@@ThomasHeatonPhoto That was not your typical paid vacation, it was an expedition with a “landscape eye” and some camera equipment. Bob.
Little piece of calm and happiness
Thomas, I used Heaton to sign up at Squarespace for our retail nursery in Winslow, Arizona. Thanks for all you wonderful videos. If you ever come to Winslow I will take you to some really exciting landscapes for Photography.
txs for this wonderful journey into the swedish winter!
that light. 💡💡💡wow. so pure. how very fortunate you were. thank you for a great video.
Wow, just wow
It amazes me that you where able to find shots out there. I've been to a few such trips lately, and it was hard. real hard.
Beautiful video! My favorite photo is the covered peak so peaceful and at the same time harsh.
Loved the image with the surfboard clouds
Thanks Thomas!!!!! More then anything, your videos make me wish I was your age again. Your adventures whether building a van or taking images in the white sands of Egypt are inspirational!!!!! Best wishes!!!
Me too.
That's very kind of you too say. I won't be able to keep this up forever, so make hay and all that 👍
tents and skis photo, love it!
Welcome to my country! Thank you for this video as for all the others! Fine photos in the sno! Kind regards!
When you get a call to join an expedition in a different country to take photos, you just have to go. Nice opportunity and a great mission
Stunning! I am SO jealous! Nicely done, Tom
Oh, I want winter back. I do. Really. Beautiful shots!
We love your videos & the stories you tell on your adventures. Keep them going! Your images are so beautiful.
Wow! What an awesome opportunity for documenting some great training, as well as taking some wonderful images of your own. I can see the potential for an adventure book here. Thanks for bringing us along!
News skills and a beautiful collection of photographs. What a great weekend. Love all the shots; especially the shrubbery, the tent surrounded by skis, and that beautiful pink and blue mountain. Great video Tom!
Doing photography and filming while trying to keep up with a group is so challenging! You did a fantastic job collecting content for us to watch! Looks like an amazing place. And looks like all that bright light made handheld images easier.
Some fantastic images and what an adventure to be part of. The ice melting and those images from the storm are epic.
Exciting video as always, Tom! This was a refreshing change of pace.
Looks like quite the adventure. My favorite image was the third to the last image. It manages to really capture the warmth of winter
Looks fantastic. Really enjoyed the video, thanks!
A worthy cause to support ❤️ Best wishes to the research team for their 30day expedition and for the fund raising. Can't wait for the documentary and the published research results.
Awesome. Although I didn’t see any Surströmming. Lovely to see Jonas and great to see you skiing.
Amazing scenes. I really enjoyed this one!!
What a great experience! Well done! Beautiful images!
Awsome video ! really love the nordic countrys! such an adventurous environment!
That would be a trip of a lifetime!! I look forward to the documentary they produce! I hope they get the funding necessary to make it an expedition of a life time for Jonas! Wow I just found out that one member of the expedition is from Maine, USA! I work in Maine and live 5 miles from the border in tax free New Hampshire! 😁 I hope lots of folks donate to the Idiegogo campaign!
I am watching this on the big TV. Glorious glorious. Thank you Thomas
Those intimate shots at 11 min look like covers mate !! Great finds !! Fair play on mastering the skiing !! That wind looked intense but the sky was a great reward was sticking it out ! Bravo for highlighting the project also 👏👏
Thanks a lot, Darren. Yeah, I'll be adding a couple of those shots to the portfolio. Happy with how the trip went 👍
Storyteller film maker picture taker, supreme . My favourite was the two trees in the snow. So simple (if spotted).
Perfect
You mean the Black and White shot? Yes, I think that's my favourite too.
@@ThomasHeatonPhoto yeah I should really word/explain what I mean, better.
Yeah the black and white one.
So easy on the eye, and the tree in the background pulls your eye into the picture.
Nnnnice
Feeling stressed. But I can relax for 26 minutes and not think about anything with a great Thomas vid🤩
That's often my intention with these videos. Escapism.
Starting my binge watch😁😁😁😁
Nice to see you in my home country. I have hiked around that area many times but never skied, got inspired to do so .
Great stuff. Minimal and beautiful
Great Thomas Heaton Video, thanks for sharing
Great set . Last image my fave
Jayus Tom loved the video. Love the thought process behind the minimalist images
Great video and beautiful images Thomas 👍
Very welcome to Sweden, really enjoy to follow your journey in the Swedish fells. Nice photographs.
Thank you. 👍📷😎
Stunning images Thomas, and love the storytelling of the video. You made me laugh several times. Supporting the Jubilee Expedition right away!!
Images of absolute perfection !
love #7 the most, quite some energy there
That’s the type of image I live from you, and the type of images I try to get whenever I go and shoot. I take the “famous” shot and try something different. And that’s thanks to the inspiration that you give me !
Thank you !
Nice video and amazing photography. Those guys have a Very worthy cause. Like the collaboration.
What a spectacular experience! Great images too!
No wonder you have over half a million subscribers, what a video absolutely brilliant, sadly makes everybody else's look amateurish, simply stunning images, some of the best you have ever taken, you must have been pleased with those, the Trees in the Snow, Magic, and if you get a negative comment from anyone tell them to take up Macrame. regards, take care.
I always have you as a motivation when I go out skiing way before sunrise in the mountains to get that morning glow on untouched snow. Always wondering when you'd come here, and here we are. Nice one as always, love your work!
Thanks a lot. Now I have the bug and I can't wait to come back.
This is such a great segment. One of your best. And the minimalist photography is exquisite.
Loved the video and the images.
Oh wow, fantastic Tom!! Beautiful photos, beautiful landscape, tough environment! Really well done!!
Thank you for the great video. I enjoyed every minute.
Brilliant Thomas, hugely enjoyable.
Brilliant
What a beautiful new adventure into the wilderness! You created such a great video, everything is in perfect harmony here, bravo! Really inspires me, even more, to go out and explore the beauty of nature, thank you so much Thomas. Have a wonderful day. Best wishes, Mario
Thanks so much. I really appreciate your comment. I'm very happy with the video and the images, so thanks again 👍
The first image in the last set you showed us , majestic . I went to north sweden just a few weeks before our first lock down . Its a wonderful place
Darn, you go to the most fantastic places! And you make the most of them photographically.
Nice one James and how incredible to get that experience of shooting in more extreme conditions. Great knowledge gathering for future expeditions. Glad the Fuji XT4 problem was just one of a warm environment and a towelling down. Should be a nice collection even with no bangers!
For me image 7(?) at 20:48 is the "Banger". Always have a plastic shopping bag with your camera gear, change lenses in the bag in dodgy conditions.
What a great opportunity for you and awesome images. Even though there wasn't any sun, the bright white of the snow is blinding.
Long time fan. I like how you review the images at the end. I wish more folks would do that.
Supported! Hope great things come from this.
Well, you're certainly an originalist in the art of landscape photography! Always a pleasure to join your adventures!
Photographing in cold snow conditions requires concentration and stamina. Most activities take longer so well done Mr. Heaton!
What a cool experience and a cool project! I love the stark winter images. Thanks for sharing. It makes me want to plan a backpack in the snow again!
Thanks a lot. Glad to hear you liked them , 👍
Beautiful images Thomas. I was more than happy to support the project, curious to see what they find.
Thanks for the video! your photo style inspired me a lot for last one years! Loved it from the first minimalistic photo!
I think the ideas in this video are important. We shouldn't look for bangers but go for sets of images that go together and build a portfolio. I fully support that.
Beautiful scenery! Really excellent image at 11:14. One of the best winter subjects I think is the cascading snow and ice formations
What a adventure and a fine selection of minimalist photographs to go with it. Happy days for sure. :-)
Thats my backyard! Nice! Hope you enjoyed it!
That's awesome, what a cool adventure (no pun intended)...!
Good stuff.
Wow, this was quite a challenge! I can't imagine what it must have been like to be part of a group in those conditions and still find ways to do good photography. Some really lovely shots too - you've achieved a lot of subtlety, which I know you love. Well done!
Welcome to Sweden Thomas! Hope to see you visit us over here again!
I would and do look for the intimate closed landscapes too, Thomas
Fantastic film and really incredible storytelling.
Epic pictures!
So nice to see your interpretation of an area I call neighbourhood. You certainly captured it beautifully, and in a different way than most people who try to photograph it. In a nice Thomas-Heaton-way. Brilliant photographs. (If we were friends I'd tease You for snow on the sensor. :) )
wonderful and inspiring video. had to watch it several times just for enjoyment. thank you!
That's a lot of watch time 👍 Glad you enjoyed it.
I was waiting to see your friend Morten come over one of the ridge lines. Your adventure looked like a lot of fun. Stay safe Thomas.
It's funny, I watch this for the landscape photography and because I just enjoy your videos but my favorite image is of the skis and the tent. Well done!
These serene, beautiful, calming photos, along with the great music, are the perfect antidote to the news of the day. As an aside, I’m always intrigued by Morten Hilmer’s method of protecting his cameras in cold weather by leaving them outside all night so that there is no issue of cold-to-warm transition. (I assume he keeps warm batteries handy.)
Great images Thomas! I think the 55-200 is an underrated lens, I bought it with my first X-T1 and still love it
Having a hard time choosing which image is the best here, but I think I'm gonna pick 20:55 as the banger shot. Absolutely love the shape, the texture and especially the golden light. Thank you for trying to record as many as you can while being there. What a great journey!
Great video. Pretty sure I saw the van parked up in a popular car park (WS) in the Lakes today. Great March weather for a walk today. Hope you had a good day too 😊
Small, lightweight & simple nylon parachutes are the best snow anchors for tents.
Yeah, I thought about using some dry bags filled with snow, but wasn't sure the plastic buckle would hold.
Amazing videos!
Particularly the fact that you have some handheld content!
Well done Mate!
Big trees on a little planet 🤗🌍
It’s been an amazing video ! What an intense thing it must have been fighting the strong winds on those conditions and managing to get extraordinary photographs. That sky with snow flying all around is unique !
Lovely photography. Well done for making a film in such difficult conditions!
I admire you a lot for how you accept challenges out of your comfort zone!
Much respect, love the passion you put into projects and storytelling.
Ps.
The photo of the ice formation over the rocks at ste first part of the video reminded me of a famous photo from Ernst Haas! Simply.. wow! 😍
