  • Live Coverage: WI v. Chandler Halderson - Dismembered Parents Trial
    Happening in Court:
Dep. Greg Leatherberry-Dane County Sheriff's Ofc.
    CHARGES:
    Victim Bart Halderson:
    COUNT 1: First-degree Intentional Homicide
COUNT 2: False Info on Kidnapped or Missing Persons
    COUNT 3: Mutilating a corpse
    COUNT 4: Hiding a Corpse
    Victim Krista Halderson:
    COUNT 5: First-degree Intentional Homicide
COUNT 6: False Info on Kidnapped or Missing Persons
    COUNT 7: Mutilating a corpse
    COUNT 8: Hiding a Corpse
A Wisconsin man stands trial for allegedly murdering and dismembering his parents without remorse, and providing false information on their disappearances. Chandler Michael Halderson, 23, faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide. Remains from his father Bart Halderson, 50, and mother Krista Halderson, 53, were found days apart, authorities said.
Defendant Halderson reported his parents missing July 7th, claiming they left their home in the Village of Windsor days before on the 1st. He told WISC-TV at the time that they were going to the village of White Lake, Wisconsin.
“My last message I got from them, they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July,” he told “There are some festivities that go around there. Better drink prices at the bars. Stuff like that.”
He said that to his knowledge, they were then going to their cabin in Langlade County.
“Along the way, they could’ve stopped many places,” he said. “I wouldn’t know all of them.”
He was allegedly just feeding everyone lies.
Bart’s torso was found in rural Dane County, while remains from Krista were found in Sauk County and property run by the Department of Natural Resources, according to court documents obtained by The Wisconsin State Journal.
Their son had been searching Google for terms like “Body found Wisconsin,” “Woman’s body found in Wisconsin,” “Wisconsin dismembered body found,” and “Dead body found in Wisconsin,” authorities said. Investigators suggested Chandler Halderson used to a visit to property belonging to the partner of his girlfriend’s mother as cover to hide his father’s torso nearby. He had shot Bart Halderson at least once before dismembering him, officials said.
According to investigators, Halderson said after his arrest that “you don’t know the whole story,” and that he “didn’t feel bad about what I did.”

I just find it super ridiculous that one of the notes he made right after killing his parents was "Find a job." So, instead of getting a job in the first place, he had to kill his parents, clean up the evidence, dump the bodies...and then get a job.
      There's some unnecessary steps there.

    • @Ocrilat
      @Ocrilat 2 года назад +2

@@TheNoonish During the investigation, his looking for a job was a big part of his 'cover story'. It might have been left as evidence to be found by police that he was indeed job hunting (i.e. a conscientious young man forging ahead and overcoming his setback/head injury).

Inside the home. How neighbors didn’t hear the gun shot idk. But it seems like from the evidence and the trying to burn the body at home it was all done inside the house. The silver tarp was probably laid down. The ice was probably to cool/freeze the body to prevent as much blood from going everywhere and to slow decomp. It’s the only place imo he could of done it.

Def does not have to prove innocence. State has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt he committed the killings...the state admits they don't know how or where he killed them. Hopefully this jury is not like Casey Anthony jury as the evidence circumstancially proves he did it. Imo.

Holy Moly. I bet the appeals attorneys listen to this series and laughs with glee. I watch a lot of trials, and this female prosecutor is the worst attorney I have ever seen. Why they would give a case of this magnitude to such a person I cannot imagine. Of the whole trial, the only really professional was the prosecution opening statement. Otherwise there were the gum chewing deputy, repetitive photos, the prosecutors who didn't seem to be able to control (or predict) the testimony of the witnesses, folksy and unnecessary personal comments and inappropriate laughter by that female prosecutor, & insensitive personal comments by searchers. Law enforcement, , give your people lessons on how to testify professionally!!!
