This is one of my favorite stories of WW2 that nobody has heard of. I've visited France years ago for a history class about WW2 and the country has won my deepest admiration and respect!

This makes me sad for France. The political and military leaders were focused on the wrong things, and because of this brave French soldiers paid with their lives…and France was flattened and tortured by the Third Reich.

The situation in France was extremely difficult at every level... But it was the poor guys who paid the price. Thanks for your comment!

Reduced to mashed potato, sounds good to me. I normally feel empathy for people being bullied but this is an exception to the rule. Great story, thank you as always and happy Friday everyone, have a fun and safe weekend

(when french soldiers bullied Italian forces)........WHO DIDN'T ?!
Hahahahahaaaaaaa!! OK, I'm sorry, it was funny though. We all know what a "powerhouse" Mussolini's forces were.....hahahahaaaaa, ok, ok, I'm sorry again...hahhaaaaa.
Those poor 9 Frenchmen must have thought they were in a "Black Friday Sale" at Walmart and fought like HELL!! hahaaaaa...I can't help it, I'm sorry, I'm just giggling my balls off over here and it's not your fault. Great video, boss. I really enjoyed you presenting the story instead of reacting. But the reactions are still great.

Fantastic video my friend, just to let you know I've watched J,accuse, fantastic movie,I looked on RUclips for more information,I also watched the three musketeers Daragn, both movies fantastic, although I really liked J,accuse.
A question if you don't mind, how did the resistance come about, was it some sort of military post that was split, when the Germans invaded France, when you see resistance in movies, they look efficient an brave, but they look like ordinary members,of the public, how did they organise themselves so they could resist the Germans.

I am so glad you enjoyed J'Accuse, such a great movie!
The Resistance was born out of many different movements with many different motivations. There were Resistance organisations specialising in intelligence, so it could have been just about anyone: office workers, civil servants, train controllers and so on. People who were part of networks to extradite oppressed populations: farmers, mountain guides, drivers. And then there were those who were fighting in the Maquis, in camps and following an armed struggle, and these were also very different: young people who wanted to escape from the compulsory labour service, communists, Jews, and so on. And all with varying levels of education and equipment, at least at the beginning. And then organisation came more or less with the work of unification and coordination under De Gaulle.
Totally worth its own dedicated video!
Thank you very much my friend!

The poor Italian soldier. They suffered in how they were lead and suffer on with such a poor reputation. Curiously when they were lead by officers from other countries they did much better. For example the Italians fought well under German officers in N. Africa.

If I'm not mistaken, Erwin Rommel praised their value in Africa. When equipped and commanded correctly they proved to be very brave and capable fighters. Thank you very much!
