I rode this board, this last season. It is the best board I had ever ride!!! Riding since 1991. It´s gives you everithing!!! Please thank you.
Love this board. Been learning moguls and trees. This board is great for me as an advancing intermediate. Thanks for the review, it perfectly described this board.
Just got on one for the first time today and your review is spot on! This thing rips.
I got a Ravine on your recommendation 3 yrs ago and this is pretty much a perfect take - super fun, super solid do it all that's no slouchy noodle.
I got a used 2020. Its perfect.
Sounds like a good ride. I like what Rome has been doing especially for the money
Just got one! Can’t wait to test her this season
How is a 1 year review on it. Looking at a 2024 version
I picked up last year's for a little over $300. Haven't ridden it yet. I'm considering exchanging it for a Lib Tech Dynamo but haven't decided yet.
I’m absolutely tripping balls on my Ravine 2020. I’l save for this one, the design is absolutely insane.
Great as always. I have been waiting to hear your thoughts on this year. I was looking at a 158 at 180lbs sz 8.5, too big? Have you ridden the select from this year yet? Am sitting between the regular and the select.
Nope. Yep.
I’ve had this board since the 2022 version believe, and it’s seriously all you need for any conditions unless you are really into freestyle. I don’t do freestyle or switch so this board is amazing as a directional board
2021*
Hey man love your videos I’ve been ridding about 6 years and I’ve always had beat up boards from marketplace and this year I’m wanting to get a nice do it all board but I’m stuck between the Rome ravine and the salomon assassin. Personal opinion on the two?
Ravine's a little more specialized than the Assassin.
Anny changes on this modell then the previus modells?
Hi, I really enjoy your video's, with so much info, lots of dry humor and honest! Question; Rome Ravine or the Korua Otto? You're quite positive about both right? Thanks!
Damn... sorry; or the Gnu Hyper?! :)
The one that fits your riding style and needs.
Copied, thanks! Relatively close.
Really found this board easy to ride and fun. Wish it was little bit more damp (or is that just my riding?). Avran when would you recommend the select over this board? Also am I better running my bent metal transfers or Burton cartel’s or cartel x’s? Transfers were great last season and found myself putting them on everything I rode. Thanks for your help.
Any of those bindings will work. Select is a little stiffer and more damp. For what you're describing in terms of the dampness you probably want the Select.
@@AngrySnowboarderhi mate. I’m looking at the select as I had so many sore leg days last season from choppy, icy terrain. However I was starting to learn butters and had some good fun doing tail presses over hills. Is that still achievable with the select?
my bad i asked on another video but would union force bindings work well with this board too?
Does anyone know if a 158 would be a good size for stability and lots of speed? I'm 5'9, 155 lbs, and I wear size 9.5 US boots.
Hi Angry, thanks for all the reviews, been watching alot recently while trying to decide what to buy.
Have a quick question, Ravine 23 or Ravine Select 22? I'm probably (or was) intermediate but haven't ridden in a few years, I want a quiver of one for Japan next year, I'm 70kg and 175cm, and looking at the 155, i like the modest style/look of the ravine select 22 and its $50 cheaper then the 23 ravine (thought thats not a big deal). What I'm worried about is if it might be to much for me to handle as its been over 5 years since i rode last.
It's probably too much board for you.
@@AngrySnowboarder Great, wasn't sure so thanks for the advice, will get the Regular Ravine.
Debating between the Ultra Mind Expander, Captia Navigator, and Ravine/ravine select. Looking for a resort board to boost big side hits, lay down some nice turns, and also floats in the deep. Any opinions welcome from anyone who sees this!
Ravine Select will have the most pop of the three and still float the best.
My shop has last year on sale in 55 and 58 ... I am 170 size 9.5
Hey I was wondering if your binding recommendations would be the same for the ravine select?
Wait for the review and see.
Hey man, I just order a ravine 166 .. wanted to ask what boot you would recommend (I'm 6'2 and about 240 lbs) and wear a 47-48 us
Best boot is the one that fits your foot and fits your needs.
Im looking at getting the rome ravine select 2023. What are the differences between the select and normal ravines?
Select review drops at 9:59 MST today, watch it and see.
Thoughts on a 152 or 155 for pow days and cruisin in the trees. 5’10 155.
52 is going to be more nimble in the trees but 55 will have better float in the wide open steeps.
Thoughts on the difference between this and the thruster as compatible boards?
Thruster is more carve oriented.
Is there much difference between this and the 2020? I found the 20 to be quite soft and I don't trust the tail at all. Fun for cruising and light pow, though.
New factory and shape change since then.
There is HUGE difference between Rome Ravine 19/20 and 21/22/22. After moving from Playmaker factory to Dubai and realising Ravine Select they have change the board totally. I had Rome Ravine 18/19 ad it was phenomenal!! Great on the edge , forgiving, solid , poppy, fun. Ravine 18/19 and 19/20
Was awesome.
The New one is …. More Softy For sure …
@@michalbrzezinski2958 any differences between this year’s and last’s?
@@ttsky126 I don't know unfortunately. Sold mine 2021/2022 and didn't want to test any new ... as i mentioned. 18/19 and 19/20 was AWESOME. 21/22....hmmmm just a fine board , nothing special.
Hey Avran, I’m size 11.5 US boot and around 82kg, would you recommend 155 or 158? (Headed to Japan for powpow).
Could you say that this would be a board worth adding to my quiver if I already have a 151 Warpig and a 156MW Typo?? Buying snowboards is just too appealing…
You definitely want the 58 as it'll give you more float.
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks legend
I like to buy the ravine....but am 72kg and bootsize 39.5... wich size should I take?
Thanks
55 to 58.
For an all around board mainly used at snow summit and mammoth, would you go with a ravine or agent?
More freeride ravine more park agent
@@AngrySnowboarder free ride it is
Yet again you have convinced me to part ways with my hard earned cash. Thoughts on Stratas vs the new Forces for this?
FORCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any differences between this year’s and last’s?
Graphic.
Hey Angry, any difference between the 23 and 24 versions?
Graphic
I've yet to ride my '22 National, (soon) but I'm already thinking about what to pair it with. The Ravine and the boards behind you are on the list if I'm sticking with Rome. You recommended the Select for me (among others) on a live show, but that Stale Fish is calling my name. Which one for powder for a higher level intermediate rad dad? Thanks as always.
Stalefish all day. So much fun and will be a better contrast to your National.
@@OneEightNate Thanks Nate dogg
Dealers choice.
Is the 152 too small for someone that’s 170lbs and size 9 boots? Just got last season’s for $200 used. Might be small for me but whatever.
For a screw around board no, for anything super serious it's a little small.
@@AngrySnowboarder Just rode it at mammoth. Super maneuverable and great off side hits and jumps. Just gotta bend the knees when going faster.
Hi, anyone know if the same model goggle Scott daredevil. OTG offers less peripheral vision than Non-OTG. ? TY (sounds like it would but IDK. )
what's stiffer the Super 8 or Ravine?
That's splitting hairs. Torsionally the Ravine. It's also a hair stiffer in the nose.
@@AngrySnowboarder good to know
How does it feel in powder?
Like a wet dream in a warm room.
@@AngrySnowboarder confusing but satisfying
Angry- were you happy on the 155? We are the same weight and boot size. Gonna pull the trigger on this board and leaning towards the 155 but want to make sure I am not gonna regret going shorter.
Oh god don't go shorter 55 is as small as you would want at that size, ideally I'd have been happier with the 58 for my style of riding.
@@AngrySnowboarder wasn’t meaning shorter than 155 - meant going with the 155 vs 158. Assume the 155 will feel a little softer and be a little more nimble than the 158?
How does this compare to a k2 excavator?
Slightly softer, easier to ride switch, engages an edge quicker but doesn’t lock in as hard.
@@AngrySnowboarder thank you for taking the time to reply in such detail. I appreciate that very much. You alone have been the rudder on the boat which steers me in the right direction for board and gear purchases.
Pocket butter to go with pocket bacon.
Butter melts, bacon savors.
Fry bacon in butter?
Then it can travel with you.....
