This board made me say "I had no idea I can ride that good" and I feel simply strapping into it gave me the same amount of progress as riding my previous board for a whole season, i absolutely love this deck
I’m also in love with my ravine
There is a lot of sketchy rides out there that's a clean and straightforward deck, the guy is a bit of lightweight to engage though.
Hidden gem in the Rome lineup. Extremely easy to ride switch considering it's directional and has taper, park friendly flex, solid sidecut that rips, pretty good pop and good float! One of the favourites in my quiver!
Hidden?
@@brianp9268 not many people think of it as a versatile board in the Rome lineup. People often buy Crewzer, Mod, Agent, Stale Fish, Artifact etc.
@@Kariiim2k just anecdotally from the people around me and I see online I would say the ravine/select is one of their more popular boards.
@@brianp9268 Rarely see it here in Norway and haven't seen it while visiting the Alpes several times either. Might be more popular in other parts of the world then
@@Kariiim2kIm in the north east of USA so definitely could be different.
I rode this board last season!!! Is one of my
favorite boards. That back camber with a flat section under your front foot, with rocker and 3d at the nose, does it all
Oh yah, I got the ravine for this year, can't wait to try it out. I switched to libertines last year and was so impressed with them I snagged the ravine for the upcoming season at Whitewater. Gotta think it's the perfect weapon after watching that!
that nollie 3 at 3:40 was a work of art
Such a solid deck for a one board quiver.
Great review . I have always had Rome Flag boards. Just got a Ravine , looking forward to this winter now
Rome Seem to make solid boards that people love
Looks very good on wet snow, i'am slightly worried with the chatter in icy conditions.
The reviews are awesome man, but I'd love to see some vids of you just shredding 🤟
I ride the 2019 version (without the 3D shaped nose), awesome 1-board quiver, good carve when leaning on the tail, some flex for easy forgiving presses. Decent for switch riding despite the setback, pintail and very directional flex. Got to try it in deep (3ft+)powder, it did not disappoint. Only catch: it is NOT damp, not the best choice to bomb on chunder…
The 2019 version was BLAST ! I had one - really great board. This one , comparing to the 2019 is piece of a..t :( soft , chattery …. Bought one and soldafter few days. Disaster
I bought one I tried on demo day the 2nd year it came out. I fell in love with it coming from a rocker board. It’s so fun to ride…The way I ride it gives me a feeling of Surfing on the mountains. In powder or fresh snow it’s a dream to ride. I love my board and probably will not buy another. It does exactly what I want and can really grow into old age with it. Ppl sleeping on Rome
I absolutely love my ravine, it's a beast in pow!
What about carving and sharp turns?
@@2dksnw557 the camber in the rear mixed with the carbon rods made it super fun to carve hard and the tighter side cut make quick turns nice and easy!
@@2dksnw557 super good to carve in…the rear makes turning easy and surf-like
How is it after a year?
@markregner7478 lol it's still fun but the top sheet looks like a spider web of cracks!
Nice. Will you be reviewing the 2023 mind expander? Curious about its carving ability and if it’s lost it’s powder/tree abilities . Cheers
Sick review as always! Can you do a bataleon whatever x beyond medals review?
Please do a review on Capita BSOD. It would be epic!
I wish it was a few mm wider. At least in the 166 version. I´m worried that with my UK10 boots, the tail will not be wide enough.
Just picked this up!!
You won't regret it 😉
Rode this all last season in CO. The Ravine handled everything well for me except a few days that got icy. I washed a few times on the super hard pack icy days. No park for me. Curious on any thoughts for a complimentary board with better edge hold. I am 6’4” 210 size 11 and rode the Ravine in a 162. Problem is mostly my skill level but buying a new board is fun too.
Can confirm: This board handles high speeds.
i'm 5'9 150-155 lbs would you recommend 155 (my usual size for boards) or go a bit higher?
Try the Telos DST. Holy Shit! Similar free ride outline with a medium flex. Super fun ride!
which is the best Rome board for groomed slopes? for carving, that keeps stable on icy terain? and confident for speeding?
I currently ride a Rome Reverb Rocker from 2019 and would like something that 2 steps better for the above mentioned things.
Still waiting on the Rome freaker review
Can you do a review of gnu gwo
What is your favourite board for carving ? Thank you !
Which section of Mammoth were you in where you were carving between two tree lines?
it's possible to fit him whith step on .
Heavy send
Sendeeeeeee
What’s your opinion between the tweaker, Capita osl and season kin for a progressing beginner on the east coast?
Get a damp board that can ride through the crud. Cut your learning cure in half.
6:45 he goes so deep
