    Thanks for all of your videos man. They've been tremendously helpful. I went from wanting this to the gremlin then the mega merc and have now circled back to this. Looking for a good backcountry/kicker board that can also do well on groomers/side hits. Now I'm torn between the phantom+'s and the astro fulls. Keep up the good work. This business is tough.

    which is the best Rome board for groomed slopes? for carving, that keeps stable on icy terain? and confident for speeding?
    I currently ride a Rome Reverb Rocker from 2019 and would like something that 2 steps better for the above mentioned things.

      My guess would be to consider the Stale Crewzer, Warden or Freaker depending on your budget. None are best in pow but they are all easily 2 steps better for most of what you mentioned. Rome has solid edge hold but there are other brands with a lot more if you see hard to icy snow alot.

    Hey man, great review.
    I was wondering if you could help me out. Im 165 pounds, size 10 boot, 6ft.
    I’ve been riding a ride peaceseeker at 151 and am looking into the select for something a little more playful for jumps that I could take to the park, as well as side hits.
    I ride in Japan, and am wondering if I get the 158 over the 155, would that sacrifice a lot of maneuverability & playfulness?
    Thank you in advance!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 месяцев назад

      You could easily ride both sizes and they both are alot easier/more forgiving than the peacemaker. That being said, based on what you want to do with it, you will probably be happiest with the 155.

    What do you think you’d recommend for someone @ 180 lbs with a size 11 boot? Rode the 158 this past weekend and really loved the feel and how it rode. Do you think I’d sacrifice float by going 158 over the 162? Would totally be my storm chaser/pow choice in the quiver. Wish I could’ve gotten on the 159 PYL uninc to compare

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      You know if you are looking for a storm chaser you might like the Rome Stale Fish 157 better. It has a lot more float in pow than the Ravine. On top of that it carves super hard as well so you will get a twofer out of it.

      @@thegoodridesnow got to hop on the Stale right after the select and unfortunately didn’t enjoy it quite as much. Probably because I’m accustomed to something a little more forgiving, which the select felt more so to me. Maybe I should hop back on again in better conditions. I appreciate the insight and help though thanks much man

      @@thegoodridesnow hard pack bordering on icey groomers at the top of Meadows. Softening up a bit closer to the lodge. Snow got cooked from the nicer weather we had a few days prior

      Oh ok. Yeah thr RS will for sure do better there. Not a good test for your pow board. Give it a go again when you ave at least 1 foot of pow.

    What size would you recommend for a 200lb 6’ rider with size 12 boot?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  9 месяцев назад

      There are many other factors that would help me size you better but based on what I know you could probably pull off a 162. There are also sizing recommendations if you click through to the full review.

    can this be a dedicated powder board for someone in socal where we do get powder here and there but not much?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  2 месяца назад

      It's no Stale Fish but its very competent in pow for SoCal. If you go to Mammoth it can be easily overmatched on one of their super deep dumps.

    Sizing-wise can you remember how you'd compare it to the regular Ravine? 1-1?

      I would get the same size Ravine Select as I would the regular Ravine.

      @@thegoodridesnow 7,5-8us. I'm using Rome Agent 20th Anniversary 22/23 154cm right now for all purpose. It works fine for resort but when the snow storm comes in and we got a lot of powder. I can see the flaw in my board and kinda want the powder board just to have fun. Thanks for fast reply

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  5 месяцев назад +1

      So your weight is better for the 158 but based on what you ride now and your smaller boot size you might like the 155 better. I'd also consider the Stale Fish 154 and possibly the 157 if you want something better in pow but the Ravine Select could also be really fun as a back up do anything/more mountain freindly ride. Or hit me up here if you want to get into it in more detail. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
