I live in Mobile as well, so this helped me to make up my mind about buying this rose and I think I'll choose something more resistant to fungal diseases
@peggyplatt7296 Yes. Kordes roses are the most disease resistance rose that I grew so far. But David Austin Roses still one of the most frequently bloom, beautiful and fragrance rose. I will always have David Austin Roses in my garden even though they are not the best in health.
Love your roses, they all look so beautiful. So, little struggle which to buy, lol… would you mind to describe the color differences between PAoK and Gertrude Jekyll?many thanks!
Oh, they are very different. PAoK is like dusty pink and Gertrude Jekyll is Neon pink. PAoK definitely bloom more frequent than Gertrude Jekyll but Gertrude Jekyll is a lot more stronger in fragrance. Decision, decision...😆
Love this rose. I have 2 too but not a lot of blooms. It didn't bloom the 1st year but slowly taking off... The fragrance is not as strong as AD or Jude. But it's so beautiful when in bloom
It’s funny to me looking at this rose now it looks so much like my first Boscobel rose I have a couple of years ago. I wonder if it was a mislabeled one
I got to say they are really looking similar especially when the bloom first open coz of the salmon tone. I think PAoK bloom is a lot bigger than Boscobel in spring, open flat and turn into dusty pink. Both are beautiful for sure.
@@backyardparadise2334 yes in ways they are similar but always thought the blooms were so much prettier and bigger on that one Boscobel I have one going into its second season didnt get pretty blooms like that. This year when it did bloom the blooms were pretty.
I’m deciding between Boscobel or PAK, I’m leaning towards Boscobel- does it repeat flower? Which did you like better? I’m putting it at the entrance of my driveway so I want it to be repeat flowering
Ya. I feel bad for people in hot climate trying to grow this rose because of all the huge bloom picture from the internet. It will not look like that most of the time.
@@backyardparadise2334 yaaaa... Only can get the fragrance n color sweet pink unlike Abraham Darby and The Poet's Wife still looks good over 3 inches across n a good flush but only 3-4 days they lasts
For me, PAoK has much bigger bloom than Boscobel. If compare with Ancient Mariner, I think PAoK color is brighter and more coral. Ancient Mariner is more pink to me.
amazing . what is the size of your pot? all my da is in pots as well so just wondering what is the smallest pot size you can use and it won't prevent them from growing.
Absolutely agree with you! I have Boscobel as well but it is a really weak plant. I find both of them are very similar but PAoK is a lot more vigorous and much better bloomer. I pulled Boscobel and never missed it a bit. 😆

Amo,tus rosas...son hermosas.saludos desde buenos aires.argentina..
Thankyou for the information! Ill do this when I next prune her. Thankyou.
My 2nd year with PAK and I get the barest hint of fragrance but such a gorgeous bloom
I think it's fragrance really show depending on the stage of bloom. Not a reliable fragrance for sure. 😆

It is not a good repeater for sure. Slow to repeat and not a heat lover.

@@Sindri27 You might got the PAoK instead then. I don't think Boscobel can get as big bloom as PAoK. 🥰

I'm very surprised it's doing so well in such a small pot.
It is totally a myth that roses need the biggest pot you can get to grow well. 🥰🥰
this one is gorgeous. ive seen pics of it, but i dont have it!…someday..someday!
It should grows really well for you, I think. It can grow really tall in the ground. Got to prune regularly
@@backyardparadise2334 if it gets the color like urs…..ill add it to my list lol.
@@sonievkay The color stay the same all year long. Just the size is much smaller in summer
True never got this type of blooms here... It's blown open with the heat even though shaded 😒
Yours is extremely beautiful and HUGE

how do you fertilize your pot roses? please share the name of the product and how often you fertilize them.
what fertilizant should i use with this rose? how much? how many times a month?
It looks very similar to Boscobel with the coral and Ancient Mariner. How would you describe if you can only get one?

I just bought one 😊 Wondering where is your location? That might have something to do with your mildew problem

This pot is 10 gallons. I think it is good for most of the compact shrub rose
Wow😍🌹
🥰🥰

@@minaxiong5584 about 3 days max for me
Thank you for posting! How long last the petals on it? Is it fading in 2-3 days? Thank you!
It last very long in spring and fall. Summer time will be around 2 to 3 days.
@@backyardparadise2334 thank you sooo much! I really appreciate!! I follow your posting, they are of much help!!!!
@@mihaadina7480 So glad that my video helps you in your garden. 🥰
Is this one fading like the Alnwick?
PAoK definitely last longer than Alnwick.
also what zone are you in. I am in southern California
Zone 8b. Mobile Alabama.
I am in zone 10a southern California. I just brought one recently so you think it won't do well due to our warm climate?
@@amandahuynh4307 I think it will be fine in your area. Just expect the blooms will not be as big and nice in hot summer like spring time
What's happening to roses with this heat wave?
Small blooms and wilted fast. Still blooming
