Love the jacket Carole. I’ve got a similar pattern, a Simplicity one that I’ve had for ages but haven’t found the right fabric for. I liked the one the actress in Night train wore. Looking forward to seeing your trousers. Lovely pics .
Oh thank you so much Anne. I do try never to give up on something but I have to say.... this came close and I nearly tried to find a way to cheat with those sleeves 😂. The forecast is dry for the weekend so the jacket is coming with me! Thanks again and have a super weekend 🧵😊
You’re making me blush calling me quilting royalty 😂 I think the quilt turned out just fine and it will be loved! You did such an amazing job with the jacket!! I love the colour and the fit is so good. Gorgeous fabric from Andrea! I need to get my hands on some of that soft knit for a new Tobin sweater!! Have fun visiting your grand-daughter this weekend. Xx 💞
Queen Izzy of Quilting ----Definitely the best title for you!! I have just said to Mary, I don't know why I am stressing with this quilt, if I had made it I wouldn't worry but to finish someone else's wonderful work is a different matter! Thanks so much for your comment on the Jacket, I honestly didn't think I was capable of making something like that 😳. Andrea's fabric will be perfect for a sweater, honestly it feels wonderful! Hope you have a great weekend too xx💗🧵💗
Hi Carole!!! I love that jacket- it looks great on you! You really got a lot of sewing done this week! 👏🏻 O M G a new series!! I can’t wait!!! Btw that quilt is coming out beautiful ❤ have a great weekend! Xxx❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much Mary for saying about the quilt. Although buying it felt like a great idea at the time, it is so stressful 'finishing' someone's work and trying not to mess it up. I don't know why I care as the maker will never see it 😂. I can't believe I made that jacket, honestly I am so happy with it. Hope you are well and the new job is going fine. xxx💗💗
Isn't the binding fabulous? Beyond the Pink Door is such a dangerous place to go but wow, it is awesome. You two should definitely take a trip over there and pick me up on your way through!! Hope the foot is recovering now. 🧵😊xx
Thank you so much Sue. The reason I had that pattern for so long is I just couldn't think of the right sort of fabric to use, until I saw this stuff in a shop. Trying to choose online was impossible. Hope you get yours made up, it was a fun sew...I just made it hard work! 🧵😊
I love your blush pink jacket. You look great in it, and it is perfect for the changing seasons. The quilt top you found at the quilt shop is very pretty. I’m still working on my son’s quilt. I’m not a quilter, and I’m procrastinating. 🤦♀️ I’m to the point to machine quilt it, and I have never done that before. I need to tackle it soon, or I will not have it finished before Christmas.
Oh Cynthia you sound like me with quilting. I really need to make myself finish that this week so I can put the whole thing behind me and move on! Thanks so much for the kind comment on my jacket, I can't wait to wear it this weekend. Hope you are well and things are starting to return to normal (or as near as it can be) for you xxx💗
Love ur Jacket hun it’s gorgeous 😍 I’v got that pattern as well but can’t decide what fabric to make it In & I’ve also never made a coat/jacket before 😬 I don’t think I’d ever have got the sleeve/cuff part if u hadn’t explained it so thank u for that & in a charity shop I got a gorgeous quilted bed spread in pink just like the pre-quilted fabric u got & I love ❤️ it so much just can’t decide what to make with it 🤔 & I also can’t wait for ur new mini series “I can make that” I’ll defo be watching that 😁 love 💕 all ur videos hun & thanks for sharing xxx
Thanks so much for your comment. The reason I had that pattern for so long and hadn't used it was for the exact same reason. I had no idea what fabric to use until I found that lightweight pink stuff!! Your charity shop find sounds amazing, how about a quilted vest/gilet? I really appreciate your kind words, thank you 🧵😊
I know, I really should have filmed my sleeve troubles but the trouble was... I always think that I am the only one who can't do these things and everyone else knows!! If I make another and actually I probably will, I 'll film it. Thanks so much for watching and your comment 🧵😊
Oh my goodness Carole you have been busy. I love your lined jacket and despite the "non perfect" bits that you know about, it looks fantastic. I'm just in the process of tracing out the Carnaby Coat from one of the sewing bee books which I am going to make. This is also lined and will be my first attempt at this type of project (apologies if Ive already mentioned this). I managed to buy some bargain fabric so if it all goes wrong I can put it down to "sewing practice" but I'm not destroying anything expensive. I'm glad I live in West Yorkshire and that Dorset is so very far away as I think my bank account would be crying due to lack of funds because Ive spent all my money in BTPD. I'm still thinking we need to do a motorhome trip into your area, although it won't be until at least next year.
Oh Ann, going into BTPD is very dangerous and this time Chris wasn't with me! If you think the fabrics on the website are good, you ought to see the bonus fabrics she has in there! I could have spent a fortune. Between Dec and March we aren't allowed to use the holiday home so no visits there, I can use that time to save up again 😂. You should most definitely take a trip down here, the coastline is so pretty. I have just looked up the coat as I couldn't remember it, wow that looks hard! I bet in reality it isn't though if this jacket is anything to go by. I just made it hard work but not understanding the sleeve bit! Thanks so much for your comment and being loyal to my channel 🧵😊x
Oh thank you Christine, you do think like me it should have explained it better!! We will never forget that process now I suppose though 😂. Have a good weekend 🧵😊
I like it! I have this pattern in my stash. One of the many on my "to do list". Why didn't you put the slippery lining all the way in ? Just wondering. Nice job, Carol. Fit looks good.
Thank you so much Jane. This jacket has been on my 'to do' list for a good couple of years too! I didn't want to use the slippery lining all the way as I thought, if I have to line it then why not make it cosier so I can wear it in Autumn and Spring. I have a bought jacket similar with a slippy lining and it doesn't feel warm at all, I can only use it on really mild days. Hence my thought, well if I am going to all this trouble I need to be able to wear it a lot! 🧵😊
Great jacket Carole but that pattern gives me PTSD from when my daughter decided to use it for her textile GCSE final project. She insisted on faux leather sleeves and a sequin applique on the back. Well there were tears and lots of swearing but she/we completed it in the end. She got a good grade which I think I deserved 😅
Oh I am sorry that is so funny!! It did make me laugh that she chose faux leather PLUS sequins?! That is the sort of thing my daughter would have done. I ended up having to do her GCSE sewing as well and it was this awful dressing gown 😂. My daughter also passed but I'm claiming that mark too! The things we do for our children eh? Thanks so much for watching and have a great weekend🧵😊
Hi Jane, thanks so much for your comment. I do hope Deb reads your comment as well! A yard is slightly shorter than a metre but only by .2 of a foot apparently. I know when I have bought fabric in the US, I don't even notice the difference! 🧵😊

Your jacket looks fabulous ❤
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! 🧵😊
You always make me smile, Carole. I enjoy your sense of humor. It's amazing how much you accomplish in a week. The jacket is gorgeous. Well done. :)
Thank you so much, that is such a wonderful comment. The jacket took a while but those bags were made in a flash! Have a great weekend 🧵😊
Carole you’re always so productive. That hat does suit you it’s lovely, such a wonderful gift. Have fun with your granddaughter. 😊
Thank you so much Carol. Isn't the hat fabulous? I am so pleased with it and can't believe Deb thought to make me one! Have a good weekend 🧵😊
You absolutely should feel pleased with yourself. Such a great job on that jacket. Thanks for the lovely photos too. Xx
Thanks so much Debbie, you can tell I am happy about it! Glad you enjoyed the photos and have a good weekend 🧵😊

They should have said pull through the side seam opening. Years ago I had the same dilemma. Donkeys do please Trish.

love the cute hat! Cute Christmas fabric! Is a meter the same as a yard?
