Wholly agree with this. After watching this vid, one thinks the comms vest is S Tier in DMZ, like SitRep with audio cues instead of highlighting equipment.
The con is, we all want him inside us, but none of us can have him.
They need to buff the other 2 vests. Coms vest is so much better and it's easy to make. Stealth vest should give you Cold Blooded as well and reduce the range at which bots will engage you. Medic vest should have charges that automatically start reviving you after your revive timer runs out. Give it 3 charges that you can refill with self revives. That would only help you against long range downs against snipers or when your team keeps the enemy distracted.
I agree that the comms vest is easily obtainable. Wondering if they'll change the recipes at a later date
A developer mindset will more likely just nerf the comms vest instead of buffing the others

@hughjaynus1093 it doesn't. Players with the Stealth vest are currently detected by the comms vest per the video.
@@GZRBangBang This video itself was not really definitive though. they get a comms audio cue. thats not really countering the stealth vest. the real question is if you show up on UAVs. True advanced uavs counter the stealth vest but im not sure about regular uavs with comms vest on.
@carved wood as a comm player, as soon as you get that noti, you should take note of your surroundings to see if you can get a hint of where they are. I would also carry a uav/auav, recon drone, and/or spotter scope.
@@jonathanwilson1539 well yeah but as a stealth player you try not to be obvious about shit and you are notified by uav/auav, and being spotted by recon or spotter. you can also carry all of those items as a stealth player. im not saying stealth is better, just that comms doesn't negate it. I think they are pretty balanced.
an aware player wearing any vest is better than a non-aware player wearing comms, stealth, med, or tempered lol. I play with couple of people that i get a UAV up, spot players, verbally tell them there are players about, ping said players and they just go about looting and are both dead 15 seconds after i notify them of the threat lol. Then I either have to lay low for the rest of the match to revive them after the squad camps their bodies for 20 minutes, get killed trying to revive them, or occasionally play the 1v3 hero. im not great at 1v3's, but im pretty good at not dying in the first place because I am always on the lookout.
2:38 --- that's because currently, the AUAV is bugged for PC players. On console, the AUAV does differentiate between players and AI correctly, while on PC it still doesn't do that (same as previous seasons). The S3 patch notes specifically mentioned this change, so I imagine it's only a matter of time until this gets resolves - considering it does technically work for console players just fine (side note: a patch just got release today that lets console / controller players loot the backpacks of dead players now, so hopefully we'll see another patch that fixes this AUAV problem for PC players soon as well).
Hmm, I didn't know this was a PC problem. I thought it was something to balance things. So the comms vest is even stronger than I thought..that's pretty nuts tbh
No. this is the difference in the Regular UAV, UAV tower and the Advanced UAV.. IMO the UAV Tower and the regular UAV is better than the advanced UAV
@@Steel-Team-6 You ought to go back and read the patch notes then - eventually this will get fixed for PC players (only console players can take advantage of it currently).
i never knew this was a pc problem honestly, i thought the game was just built like that due to goofy ah design 💀
Friend said it was fixed for him on pc last night.
Definitely subbed after this one. Maybe at the end of the tests you can have a short rundown of Top 4 Vests to use in DMZ, as it may seem highly situational for solo operators or those in 3-man teams.

This will be much more difficult to test, but if you get the opportunity. It'd be interesting to see how ghost, cold blooded, and even battle hardened interact with Comms vest. Easier to test all three at once. It's unlikely but not impossible that one of them may negate the Comms vest. Also staying perfectly still (no moving position, only rotating your point of view)/proned out as the Comms vest wearer moves into range.

At 7:59 it said first "a squad of operators is near your location" and then "we are seeing enemy operators near your location". Does it differentiate between squads and solos?

Nice breakdown. I’ve been trying to figure out the range on this thing. It is very useful and doesn’t alert other players that you’re using it like a UAV kill streak.

Sounded like just the one, but the other 2 were outside the range of the comms vest.

I can confirm that the stealth vest does counter the Comms vest, a solo was able to sneak up on my duo and execute him with both of us having the Comms vest
Thats weird. I've tried it a couple of times now and I get the comms. But something I've noticed is that if multiple teammates are using the comms vest the audio cue can bug out for at least one of the squadmates. It actually happened to us in this video while we were testing the stealth vest. I was the only one getting the comms, my mate did not. Some one else in this comment section has experienced it too. Maybe that happened to you guys? It also seems like other comms from "the announcer" can cancel mid-warning of other operators, making it harder to differentiate between the comms
Regarding multiple squads in range. I wonder how it behaves against a squad who earlier merged. Logically you'd think it would count as one squad, but I've had the game not count weapon cases or mission progress because a recruited squad mate held it or did it. Or because I was recruited. So the game may treat them separately, or maybe not even ping recruited people at all!
I've also seen console players claim that they get better AUAV/Comms vest minimap markers, and that PC has a bug which hasn't been patched yet. But as a PC player I have no way to test.
Hey love your videos! Can you please do a test with coms vest. The test is, if a operator is on a 4-6 man squad (platoon) is by himself running around, will the coms vest tell you its a platoon or will he say squad?

If they are a team of 4 or 5 or 6 the voice lines change from squad to platoon so if you heard platoon and you're solo just throw a uav and run away

I use Comms vest. If I put up any form of UAV I can in fact see players with Ghost or Stealth Vest. I'm on console so I can the difference between icons. Players without Ghost/Stealth will be round icon with arrow, Player with Ghost/Stealth will Red solid square and AI will will be Red hollow square.

I have a buddy on xbox as well. Apparently Advanced Uav is bugged for PC
LOL. So far I have encountered 1 friendly team (italian) in my entire DMZ solo career. XD They were the only ones that didn't tried to kill me and even accepted my request to join the team.

Great video thx. Does the stealth vest make players less visible to thermal (spotters) scope? When a player gets the ghost perk they get 4black squares when looking at them with the spotter scope. Very obvious. Wondering wether the stealth vest is actually ‘better’ then the perk. Also I think the stealth vest does sometimes show on uav. When two stealth vests wearing enemies use uav do they see each other? I’ve seen a player on the uav but he was wearing a stealth vest like me. Bit weird. Wish I recorded it so we could figure it out. Keep it up, GG.
Thanks, man! Those are good questions! To be honest I havn't been able to really test the stealth vest enough to give you the right answers. But ghost in WZ2 is not as powerful as it was in WZ1. If you fire your gun while being ghosted, you pop up on the UAV. So I guess that's why you have seen other players. I'm most def gonna make a Ghost vest video, so hopefully you get more accurate answers in that one.
Cold Blooded is what is hiding players from the spotter scope.
Just something to add for anyone interested the coms vest will actually pick up a player wearing a stealth vest as well so that's another check in the coms column

Regarding your tests, have you guys tried any testing when the operator has the "Ghost Perk" earned through the exfill streaks. In the sense that, it might be a better version of "ghost" than the one provided by the stealth vest, as its description is shorter than that of the Ghost perk.
Thanks! No, I haven't tried the ghost perk that much. The thing is people are usually not that friendly and getting killed makes the whole prosess very hard haha

So there was a situation where both me and my friend didn't get a que at all. It was a solo guy with stealth west.

it has been added to the devs Trello board that they are looking into changing advanced UAVs to show players and AI differently
I always play with stealth vest and i know when players are around because of there own coms shows up on the screen im a solo player and i hate hearing UAV over head then i hear it again and i see there names pop up thats when i know they are looking for me but the stealth vest helps heaps

How do we know that the audio alert was for the guy wearing the stealth vest and not the guy that was standing next you?
Some other things I would like to see tested or if anyone knows.
1) if comms vest uses a uav does it still show stealth vest players
2) heard comms vest increases uav distance and duration
3) heard if one is using comms vest and have an active uav they will see pings on mini map when operators fire guns even if they are using the stealth vest and if so does this also apply to silicenced weapons?
Something I want to know is when you make uav towers advanced uavs with the coms does that mean you can see stealth vest players when they are in there because ghosted players still show up on advanced uavs

As far as I know, Enemy and squad alert is the same. Platoon is a big team. Unsure if it's 4+ or only when it's a 6-man squad, but expect a bigger team than 3 at least
So I was in complex 2 players less then 20 meters an vest didn't say players said hostile are coming so did they have a hack to shut down my comes vest cuz usually it says operators are near every 5 to 10 secs in complex

Do you only get the alert when they cross the 100m threshold or dose it keep reminding you that you have a threat in your bubble a set amount of time or dose it alert you at 100m then say every 10m or maybe 100m then 50m?
You get alerts every minute if it's the same team within the radius of the comms. The range does not change as far as I know

i found if a solo or a squad is wearing the stealth vest i dont get the comms that they are around,but if only 1 in the squad is wearing the stealth vest,but the others are not,i get the comms that they are around

So I get that this video is 2 months old but when I tried making my comma vest it tells me I need a encrypted hard drive instead of just two regular hard drives. Was this something that was changed recently or is my stuff bugged?
U say 100 meters but when I tested it I was by a uav tower. The moment I got comms I turned the uav on and pinged where the players were. They were roughly 150 meters away. As far as the uav and how far it reaches is also 150 meters. This was tested before the new vest were released.

Can you keep the Comms vest in a secure backpack and use it in game then pack it away securely and exfil, what can you teach on this type of subject ?
Yes u can. I had a large back pack. Gathered all the materials to make 2 coms vests. Then I needed to get a secure backpack to save it all for me and a friend that lost everything the match before. I needed a gold scull and something else in order to make the secure backpack. I was running to final exfil ran into the scavenger, killed him picked up the scull and ran to a buy station to get the secure backpack. I then put the coms vest in the backpack and exfilled. The next game when my friend got on I dropped them a coms vest as well as a large backpack and a selfie.
Comms vest is really good, however, don't let it give you a false sense of security. There was a team that was hunting me down from long range. They parachuted down to where my comms vest went off, used an advanced UAV and killed me immediately. While the ping was nice, it still didn't give me enough time and/or information to react.
I would like to know the size compared to the announcement. I.E how many is a squad, Platoon etc. Thanks.

So I have a question about the vest. I watched your video a couple times about the COMS vest and I don't think I missed you covering it, but what happens when players are dead but their body is still there? Say they plea or whatever, does the COMS vest still recognize that dead player as someone who would get a callout due to their body still being there and the player still technically being in the game? I have had many fights where I will down a team of players with someone asking to be revived, and the vest goes off with nobody else within that radius that I have found. I assume it is just pinging the dead person since they are still technically in the game?
Yeah, I forgot to include that in the video, but you are right. You still get the comms on fully eliminated players even though the whole team is dead if they plead or don't leave the game. The comms will stop when they leave the match
I had a player last night not show up on the UAV Tower while I was wearing a Comms Vest. My teammate had activated the tower. I joined up with this player later and he said he had the Stealth Vest...now maybe I made a mistake but I'm pretty sure he was inside the tower range because I saw him going to the tower right before it expired. He had to travel quite some distance through the radius of the tower to get there and I never saw him on the maps. Have you tested this scenario? Basically Stealth Vest enemy inside UAV Tower range activated by teammate.
The stealth vest should be visible on AUAV. They look like the same dots as if it were a UAV. They might have changed something tho🤷♂️ I'm making a stealth vest deep dive video this weekend, so I'll check everything then👍

Dam thanx! So u get comms even with stealth vest. So comms is like having a friend always pinging an enemy even with stealth. Its like having a friend with a uav. Range 100 meters. 😊
And it turns my small radar into a mini advanced uav! Jeez. Did not know that either. And i use that lil radar thing every match.
No problemo, but they have changed that since I made this video. You do not get comms on the stealth vest anymore.
Doesn’t the coms vest boost the uav range? Instead of 120m do you know what the range is?
I don't think it's boosts the range, I think it increases the time it's active.

I do have a question about multiple comms vest in a squad. I was running DMZ with my nephew and brother last night. I got them both comms vest, but I was the only one being notified of squads near us. Was this maybe an audio glitch or will it only alert one player in the squad?
Interesting, because that happened to us in this video. When we were testing the stealth vest with those guys, I was the only one getting comms. My friend did not. But there has been other times we both have comms. Like at the very beginning of this video. We both got comms. So I think it might be just a glitch. I can try it out later today and give you a better answer when I know for sure!
Great video and very informative! On the multiple squad comm vests.... if you are in different buildings and one goes off, team comms is huge as now you know also which direction they are coming from. Use this advantage with my squads all the time
Make a video about the Tempered vest, in how to get it and what weapons can break the vest, quicker.
