If Téa isn’t number 1 this list is not appropriate.
Who else do you know would use Gracefully Charity and Pot of Greed as discard fodder for Fire Sorcerer’s minor burn and still win the duel?
She’s undefeated for a reason. Granted she didn’t discard both, but she never used either throughout the duel. You just can’t beat that level of skill. She embarrassed her opponent.

Having Yugi at 17th is insane to me. These shows are not really "realistic", so saying that if "Yugi and Yami dueled more times the latter would have won more often" is not a great argument to me personally, this is a shounen where every new challenge is going to be harder than the last, so if Yugi wins and Yami himself says "you surpassed me", that should be enough to settle it (Yami was even stronger than usual, having 3 gods by his side)...also, let's not forget, Yugi kicked Diva's and Kaiba's butts in DSOD. This might be an unpopular opinion but I think Amon/Adrian is a pretty underappreciated character and an intimidating side Villian in S3. Sure, I know the hate he gets for sacrificing the woman he loves to gain Exodia‘s power and in general a manipulative dick but there’s something about him I really like. His goal to make a world free of suffering so that no one would have to live how he lived in the early years of his life and the fact that during the Yubel duel which is one of my favourites in the series, he still loves Echo is something to question weather good or bad. Plus, he beat two of the strongest GX Duelists in Chazz and Aster and I loved his Exodia deck that even had a backup plan in his Fog King cards. I’m glad he’s on the list despite the hate.

The only thing I disagree with is about the take on Edo and Kaiser. I always thought Kaiser was the superior Duelist and it's almost as if people forget the reason as to why Kaiser went on a losing streak in the first place. He was cursed by destiny in his first duel against Edo and it was no coincidence that afterwards he began to lose a lot due to the curse. Once Edo rematched Jaden and Jaden beat him after receiving the Neo Soacians, Jaden was able to win and it showed the true level playing field again of their power. Once Kaiser received his Cyberdarks, most likely him beating Edo would've likely happened. Also just in my opinion, Kaiser had more incredible feats when it came to his duels, especially in high attack power, quick thinking, and stoicism. I'm mostly just biased lmao but I really do believe Kaiser is stronger than Edo. To me, Edo is the most overrated Duelist in all of Yu-Gi-Oh.

Bruh, if Declan Akaba wasn’t EXTRAORDINARILY handicapped by Z-Arc having like 8000 life points and a full board to his 2000 when joining the duel Declan would have literally OTKed him. Heck, the only one you need to take out is Z-Arc’s extra life points because Declan literally did over 4000 points of damage in his first turn.
Though a big reason for this is because Z-Arc is so overwhelmingly carried by the cards he created that it’s only natural he would’ve folded against someone who could counter him. Heck, I haven’t seriously played the game in over a decade and if we had identical structure decks *I* could beat Z-Arc. And that isn’t a boast, it’s an insult. He literally needed effects that say “this counts as a [Fusion/Synchro/Xyz] Summon” to actually perform those summons to the point him supposedly being a master of them all as a human is a *plot hole* that can only be filled by assuming his Duel Spirits were *literally* dueling for him. Which, considering there were the four dragons and those two sorcerers that merged with him… makes perfect sense. I know this list is accounting for things like the OP cards he made to steamroll most of the cast (most of whom were on a losing streak already) but come *on.* He does NOT belong ten places above Declan when he literally would’ve gotten OTKed against if the rest of the cast wasn’t dragging the CEO down.

    • @themantyf1116
      @themantyf1116 2 месяца назад +5

Yeah, honestly Z-Arc is possibly the weakest villain on the list, because if you look at the actual duel in it's entirety it was pretty lackluster. He only got that far because Sora and Edo afforded him several turns of build-up, and started every other duel with a tower and negate on board, but without them he would have been powerless against several of the duelist he faced afterward. If instead of joining the duel they had let him finish and restart he would have been done for.

@GrandeBigdor they also had him misplay HARD to lose that fight, if he saved one material for High King Caesar instead of wasting it he could stop Zarc's whole turn and finish him off easily. Zarc was also kind of powerless against duelists who didn't rely on the extra deck Shingo, Asaka or Yuya's father.

And how is zarc carried by the cards when it's not even easy to summon zarc you got to the so much just to summon it but zarc have a different skill level even in his first life zarc literally lost to the plot he should be top 5

Im gonna be honest. Rush characters kinda shouldn't have been included in the mix imo. They only use one format of Yugioh and tbh we have no idea how their skills would or could translate into the master duel format and seeing as how many of the duelists from each series are seasoned in multiple duel formats (turbo, action, speed, deck master, etc.) It feels kinda out of place to say rush characters are definitively better duelists using a format tailored to be easier and faster than the typical dueling formats from the previous series and never displaying any master duel skills. I also think more females like Alexis, Aki, and even Yuzu, blue angels, could have made the list because of one just the power creep and how strong their decks are and because their win/loss rates arent as bad as people claim and due to their unfortunate circumstances of just being put in duels with alot of time they couldnt have won due to plot sake similar to the villains. Imo not putting them on the list but saying Joey deserves a spot (despite the fact i agree Joey deserves one) is a bit wierd when im pretty confident he would or could most likely lose to those duelist and tbh hes not the only one. Also shout out to Anna, Rio/Marin who i also think are pretty strong duelist who could've made the top 50 had rush characters not been added.

The top 5 strongest characters in Yugioh in my opinion:
    5th. Yusei
    A great Duelist
    4th. Yusaku
Just like Yusei he is also a great duelist but has a better deck
    3rd. Atem
While it's true he has a far worse deck than the previous 2, his shadow magic/ability puts him above both
As we saw he can always just top deck the card he needs even if that card never existed as long as it wins him the duel, so it's possible for Atem to beat any board.
    2nd. Yuya
Assuming he has full control over all his, his counterparts, and Zarc's cards and abilities, his deck should be broken, but not only that because of all the abilities we have been shown he should also be able to will cards into existence like Atem, create new monsters in his extra deck to fit his needs as long as he knows how to use the summoning mechanic which makes his extra deck pretty much endless, while also being a quick learner which means if he fought a Vrains character he will be able to learn Link summoning after single duel if not in the same duel, also in theory having Yuri's super poly should give him an out against all none-towers monsters giving him a big advantage over his opponents.
    1st. Zexal
Numeron code basically means he should know what's gonna happen in the duel before even playing it, Many of His Number cards were really broken in the anime, can draw whatever he needs, and can change what in his hand to whatever he wants too.
He is just too broken to lose a duel he wants to win.

8 Soulburner (He was a walking ad for the actual Salad deck irl)
7 Yuuya (Never forget that he got stomped by Sergey)
6 Judai (He truly was unstoppable outside of three early losses)
5 Kaito (Zexal) (Kaito from Zexal is a beast. He doesn't have bad duels and legit has some of the coolest wins in the franchise. My fav will always be winning the tag duel with Yuma over III and IV with Neo Galaxy Eyes.
4 Luke (I don't know Sevens well, but yeeting the protag three times is enough for me)
3 Yusei Fudo (Yusei never loses, but he gets no results where he should've lost)
2 Yami Yugi (I'd swap with Yusei. His draw power is godly)
1 Playmaker (Playmaker from a technical standpoint never messes up or actually loses. You could argue Storm Access was cheese, but he only used it in season 1)

Ok first off, this was a massive undertaking! Good on you for putting this together. You're a braver man than I to do all 6 series. Frankly, I think you could've spared yourself some grief, doing one video per series.
Having watched it, I disagree on some points, but considering the sheer amount of characters, matching with anyone's list was impossible. Here are my biggest sticking points.
I felt like some villains were underestimated. They're scripted to lose the duel, but these are monstrosities.
I think you massively undersold Astral and oversold Kite, but honestly, that's the fault of the Zexal writers. Astral is the "ultimate duelist" but he never got a chance to convey that. In general, I feel like you overhyped the rivals in general.
In general, you kind of ignored all of the magic/special powers going on. I'm sure that made this absurdly huge list a little more manageable, but in a world full of magical artifacts, alien powers, and reality warping devices, Yusaku's at a pretty bad disadvantage.
Overall, it's pretty clear who your favorite characters are, but by that same token, you'd probably know who my favorites were from a similar list.

Noah cheated by using Mokuba as a shield and the duel he won by cheating or despite to save Mokuba he and yugi did not draw cards for multiple turns. Darth was using the seal of orichalcos that plays a whole set of rules beyond how the game was made.
There was also the duel Yusei had against Jack when Yusei was trying to duel without relying on synchro monster. Jack cancelled the duel instead of finishing the duel. If the writers made that had face down cards then Jack would have won.

Yugi Moto should be in the discussion for top5 in my opinion. Hell the reason why he didnt participate in almost all duels was, because of Yami Yugi's destiny to duel in those, but if Yugi Moto dueled instead he would have won flawlessly aswell. In fact, in one of the filler episodes where Yami Yugi lost against the Oricalcos guy, it was because Yami Yugi forcibly took control over, while Yugi Moto was telling him to not fall into his trap. The fact, that Yugi Moto won the final duel against Yami is also a testament of him being the superior duelist all along. This boy never lost a duel and is the only duelist to make a use of Exodia; something the pharaoh himself never accomplished either.

There’s a big misconception about crossover powerscaling. The characters lose or win according to the need of the plot. If Yusaku or Yusei were in Yuga’s place, they would lose too. A character isn’t good or bad just because they win a lot. Yuga is as good as Luke by the end of the show because he always was basically as close as you get to beat him and even did beat him at the end. Yuga just loses a lot because of the context of the story. That applies to all Yugioh characters. Yugi beats Atem at the end, yet he’s 17?
I think it’s just impossible to accurately rank cross over series.

I surprisingly agree with most of this list, Yusei will always be the goat in my view and Jack Atlas will always be ranked above any villain for skill. I consider Rafael in the top 10 for he took a game on a MC using a guardian deck! He didn't cheat which is rare in the show, all while protecting his monsters. He handicapped himself in two different ways and still won against the main character. I wish there was a montage of all of the character's Yugi beat watching him lose to a guardian deck. Rafael only lost the rematch because he choice to revive his monsters at the cost of his own life points. meaning he didn't really get defeated, but choice to lose rather than betray his monsters. His dueling style limited him greatly, but his skill as a duelist made up for it.

He's not well decorated in terms of all of his accomplishments, just because of his lack of showings.

I wonder if he'll add Battle Beast, considering how much he hates the arc but the character is objectively one of the strongest duelists in the franchise.
Edits: Roboppi, Mizael, Dartz, Ai & Reiji are being seriously undersold here.
Yami Marik (at least in the anime), Rafael, YUGA & Kaiba are being seriously oversold - except for Kaiba (who shouldn't be as high as he's been ranked) they have no business making the list at all. 😭
Yugo's loss against Yuri has a massive asterisk considering the plot needed Kaito & Edo to drain his resources (which was incredibly bone-headed) instead of having them focus on defeating Yuri, _the actual threat._
No, Kaito wouldn't have defeated Tron - even after the Haruto reveal, he doesn't hold back at all or avoid making moves that otherwise would have won him the duel (like say Kaiba vs Noah or Revolver vs Lightning). Sure it felt like it was playing dirty & underhanded from Tron, but it didn't affect the duel in any way besides pissing off Kaito, who still lost cleanly.
Atem is WAY too high - he has no business even sniffing the Top 10, let alone being in the Top 5, _let alone_ being in the Top 3 and ahead of Jack, Shark, Z-ARC, Yuma, Soulburner, Kaito & Luke.
Battle Beast, Sherry, Antinomy, Andore, & (S2) Go Onizuka should've made this list tbh.

Seeing as you were taking 7 whole series into account, 4 of which I haven't yet watched, I was prepared to potentially not see Mai on the list going into the video. However, after seeing Marik on the list, I knew Mai had to be coming up eventually, as she is very clearly a better duelist than Marik at the very least all things considered. She had Yugi in check in duelist kingdom, all she had to do was call his bluff and she won, then she outright defeated Marik, if only she were born with different heritage, and then she outright defeated Joey while he was at his peak skill level. On top of this, she managed to win enough star chips for both herself AND yugioh at an astonishing pace. I would put Mai on par with Joey in terms of raw dueling skill, if not a bit higher. We just needed to see more of her and against non-plot armored opponents.
With that said, Bakura is arguably one of the absolute strongest characters in all of DM, as he nearly defeated the king of games 3 times (actually WOULD have defeated him if not for his card not working properly in duelist kingdom), but it is a bit difficult to rank him properly because all his main duels are against plot juggernauts or are otherwise no-results.

36:11 Is this part of your "What made that duel special" series, or a separate video? Either way, I'm excited for it! This is my second favorite duel in the franchise behind Yugi Vs. Kaiba!

Not surprisingly, Revolver lost to Soulburner, Lightning, and Playmaker. Tough to get ranked high when the cast is so small you can only beat the secondary allies and the brute of the villains.

@@BizarreInterestsProductionsBut Revolver is still ranked too low. 2 draws vs Playmaker, win vs Windy, win vs Ghost Girl, win vs Go Onizuka, win vs Blood Shepherd, outplayed Lightning and would've won if it wasn't about cheating, superhuman performance in his 4th duel vs Playmaker. And somehow he puts Crow over him

I loved this list. Yusaku (Playmaker), Yusei and Yami Yugi are my three favorite characters. This is prodigious ❤
