In no way is annoying Noah better than Bakura. Win rate aside, Bakura is older than Atem and probably has plenty more experience. He should be placed just above Kaiba honestly, if not just for the fact that he's the primary antagonist for the entire series.
@@Trekkie46Bakura is around the same age as Atem and technically he has less experience in dueling because he dueled like 5 times although his first lost against Atem was bs.

It does, especially considering he was at the peak of his power being able to draw any card he wanted through his magic, on the top of having a better deck and summoning alll 3 Gods at the same time. Little Yugi beat all 3 Gods after they were already summoning to the field, before winning the duel.
@@anthonythomas305 Abridged reference dumbass. She beat Pre Grandpa/Yugi training Joey who was at the bottom of the barrel, Mai threw the duel since she wanted to give her star chips to Yugi and would have otherwise stomped Tea, and Crump was a loser.
Call me crazy but it’s real tough to have Kaiba over Little Yugi when Kaiba more or less admits that Yugi destroying the 3 god cards is the greatest feat only matches by Yami Yugi in the Seal of Oricalchos arc.
2:30 - Honestly, what was more impressive to me was Mai beating Pegasus down to 100 LP and then not even slowing down when he tried to turn the tables with Thousand Eyes Restrict. It was totally off-screen but the implications are horrific.
Season 4 did the best job showing how scary this new ancient evil was, and the power It granted It's users. Even the creator himself couldn't lay a hit on Orichalcos Mai.
Little Yugi at #3 is my only quarrel with this list. not only does he beat the pharaoh but he also proved that he can hold his own under pressure when he was faced with Bakura in season 5. Sure you can debate that the main reason he beat the pharaoh was because he knew him so well but that in itself is enough for me to rank him as #1 ahead of Kaiba and the pharaoh because he seemingly has a plan for any possible scenario he is faced with. Also he understands that a W isn’t everything which is a W within itself 😂
Yeah its funny because he defeated both number 2(Kaiba in DSoD) and number 1(Atem) not by ancient egipcian powers or destiny, just by outplaying because he knows how they play
@@alguidoemblema153 The pharaoh beat Yugi first in season 4, as well as let Yugi win the final duel(not using all the gods effects). The duel with Kaiba in dsod never technically finished.
@@animanga9597irst off, the season 4 duel wasn't even vs the real Yugi - just a test of spirit since y'know...Yugi was taken by the Orichalcos because Atem goofed vs Raphael. Second, in what way did Atem "let Yugi win" when Atem was literally willing cards to the top of his deck? He was going all out and even admitted to doing so. And third, the DSoD duel vs Kaiba wasn't concluded but (and you can watch TGSAnime for this one) Yugi did have Kaiba beat 100%. Kaiba had set Polymerization face down as a bluff, he had nothing to stop Yugi's final attack and would have lost. Which was the entire point of Kaiba's smile at the end and him being immediately on board with teaming with Yugi to take on Aigami, compared to how much he bristled at the idea of tagging with Yugi/Yami in the past - he knows Yugi is legit and accepts him as a true duelist and the King of Games.
@@Mrryn You have no idea what you are talking about. The place the pharaoh and Yugi were dueling was called the Sacred Ground, and many lost spirits to the Orichalcos resided there who lost their souls. That was definitely Yugi as no one ever said It wasn't him, and the pharaoh wouldn't have been emotional after beating him if it wasn't. So your wrong on that one. Also there was no goof against Raf, he just plain got beat even with the boost of the Orichalcos. This is coming from the biggest fan of the pharaoh too, so your wrong on that one as well. On the turn the pharaoh summons all 3 gods between parts 1 and 2 he could have ended Yugi with Obelisk or Ra's effects, but he didn't. I already had said what i wanted about DSOD so no need to repeat myself. You should re watch the show.
It's a season 0 anime exclusive but there's a really cool Kaiba moment when a witch who wants a rare card Yugi has, has the Pharoah dead to rights and Kaiba steps in, mops the floor with her and declares that the only one that's allowed to defeat Yugi is him
Dang that’s Crazy that the man who beat his counterpart clean while his other half had all 3 god cards is ranked lower than him. Also I know it’s focused on duel monsters, but Yugi still reigns as king of games in GX, which is a decade run
I'd say the most controversial thing in the list is Pegasus ranking higher than Dartz. Sure, Pegasus can read the opponent's mind with the millennium eye, but Dartz's deck was pretty broken. And the Seal of Orichalcos would probably make Dartz immune to the mind reading.
At least Pegasus dueled without cheating after losing the eye. And he actually got quite good. Dartz has never had a duel where he hasn't cheated with magic or by stacking the deck.
@@alanchamberlain9902 Pegasus in GX makes a list of his top 5 duelists and he didn't even pick himself. He's eventually pretty humble post Duelist Kingdom and he knows that others are superior in the game he created. Dartz and Marik aren't great duelists tho. Marik has like 4 total duels and BS is why he wins any of them, while his losses are more obvious. Yami Marik beats Marik/Yami Bakura with the Winged Dragon of Ra BS. Marik "beats" Mai but again only with Ra BS, as well as shadow game BS. Marik "beats" Joey cuz Joey fell unconscious but Joey should have won otherwise. And Marik surrendered to Atem so Yami Marik would lose. That's not a record of quality duel results xD
@@l.n.3372 Marik didn’t take Mai or Joey serious imo, Bakura played well against him and had him beat until he tried playing Ra. Marik got more serious in the Atem duel imo he had so many counters. Dartz is very strong he dominated Atem and Kaiba at points and his lp count was a massive record at the time. They didn’t have gods which was an advantage for Dartz but he was still very strong.
@@alanchamberlain9902 Sorry but Yami Marik not taking opponents seriously is a good reason to prove he's a bad duelist and he only wins based on plot BS shenanigans too. Dartz isn't a good duelist just cuz he had a high LP count at some point. Noah did too, and he's not a great duelist either. Not to mention Dartz is a cheater and his methods of using what he does is cheating since they're not officially licensed cards in the DM game anyway. If Pegasus didn't create them, they shouldn't legally be played lol
I really like the respect given to Rafael here. Not only is he the American champion(?, show is really vague about it but it basically suggests there's some in-universe ranking system that he beats Rebecca at), he beat the Pharaoh then almost did it again while playing Guardians the whole time, beating anyone with that deck is an accomplishment Not only that, he's also described as a "True Duelist" due to his bond with his deck, which leads to essentially a +>1 to topdeck luck. Man loves his deck so much he became top tier, which is worth a lot on its own Sure, Dartz almost beat the two strongest duelists in the world at the same time, but I essentially headcanon him to having all his cards made for him as head of Paradius. He's the boss, he can do that. Dartz is a corrupt person, of course he'd make the most broken cards he could have, and then print the monsters in Enochian so only he knows the text on them lol. Not only that, the Orichalcos Duel Disks clearly aren't KC products, I also don't put it past him to make it read his fake cards or possibly go past anti-cheat functions (which kinda applies to all the other Orichalcos duelists) Anyway, that was a bunch of theory and conjecture, but tl;dr Rafael is stronger than Dartz because he got that far with Guardians
Nope. You can say kaiba is clearly the best bc he constantly uses bewd to intercept his own momentum when he has CED and CCV You can say weevil is the goat for winning a chip with insects. Odion for beating Joey with the slowest deck in history
Commented this a while back but here is a video suggestion: Cam Steady dropped 2 Yugioh themed raps; 2 cyphers, one with the main 'good' characters from DM and one with the villains of DM (each rapper represents one character). I think a reaction video from your perspective would be a lot of fun, mostly because most of the reactors that react to it don't get all the references because most reactors are musicians and not fans of YGO per se. So a reaction from someone who is not a musician but just a massive YGO fan would be quitte interesting I think
Nice ranking but Yugi Muto really should have been number 1. He is objectively the best duelist in the series in both manga and anime timelines and there's no debate that at the end of the series he became stronger than both kaiba and atem.
Marik was never serious until his final duel with yugi where, had Kaiba not given him devil's sanctuary and had nice Marik not surrendered, he would have won (as Yugi himself pointed out). Kaiba's calculations stated he only had 13% chance to defeat marik, which says a lot Same thing, Bakura actually OTK'd Jonouchi during their manga exclusive duel in the final arc. And it's actually implied he defeated Pegasus to take his millenium eye in the manga too
@@Lilgabi251 except you're forgetting Yugi had no monster left in his deck and Marik looked pretty confident he would have been able to turn things around. Summoning Ra back from the graveyard is what his deck is built for
@@cheyguy1211 no, he played the card "spirit of zoma", which inflicts damage equal to double the attack of the monster that destroyed it to the opponent (he later used it during his duel with Yugi). Jonouchi attacked with Panther Warrior, so he took 4k damage and would have instantly lost had the duel not been interrupted
@big fish Got me there. In my defense he described the effect as 'Possess your opponent and kill them.' The actual effect isn't shown until 10+ chapters latet. To add to your Marik point tho. Not playing seriously isn't an excuse. If I'm dueling and I try to do something different, and i lose, that's still a loss. Marik's gameplay was to torture, and that is what he did. It almost backfired, but he won because that's what he was going for. Otherwise people could argue all day about someone losing because their intentions were to play differently, i.e. Ishizu not attacking Kaiba because she had the Obelisk plan, or Mai not attacking because she wanted Ra.
I haven't rewatched the DM anime for a long time, so my top 10 based only on the manga would be: 1. Yugi 2. Atem 3. Kaiba 4. Yami Bakura 5. Yami Marik 6. Isis Ishtar 7. Pegasus 8. Jonouchi 9. normal Marik Ishtar 10. Mai Honourable mentions: * Rishid Ishtar, because he would've beaten Jonouchi in Battle City if not for Marik forcing him to summon fake Ra and get knocked out, but he has no other duels so can't rank for me. * Priest Seto. When he was possessed by Akhenaden, he defeated a weakened Atem with his Blue Eyes, which Dark Magician stated rivalled the power of the Egyptian God cards, and Akhenaden claimed was even stronger than the Gods' combined form Horakhty. But those old Ancient Egyptian duels are not really comparable to modern duels so I felt it wasn't fair to rank him. * Yako Tenma. I didn't feel like including Yugioh R characters in the 10. If I did, he probably ranks at number 5 or 6 and pushes Mai off the list. And my top 10 including the manga AND DSOD would be: 1. Atem 2. Dark Aigami 3. Yugi 4. Kaiba 5. Yami Bakura 6. Yami Marik 7. Isis Ishtar 8. Pegasus 9. normal Aigami 10. Jonouchi
Jonouchi being that low is a crime, he legitimately surpassed many of the characters during waking the dragons arc, I feel like he should be 4th spot or 5th, Isis was only good because she foresaw years prior, she also only could execute that strategy because Kaiba had Obelisk. Pegasus is worse than Joey nowadays, i feel he surpassed Pegasus due to waking the dragons and almost beating Mai and a full strength Valon. My rankings would be: 1. Yugi Muto 2. Seto Kaiba 3. Yami Yugi 4. Dark Aigami 5. Seto Kaiba 6. Joey Wheeler ] 7. Raphael ] 8. Yami Bakura ] 9. Yami Marik ] 10. Mai ] ] - A little interchangeable between these people.
Here's my List 1. Yugi Moto(Dark Side of Dimensions- I feel Yugi had surpassed Yami by this point) 2. Yami Yugi(Atem) 3. Kaiba(Dark Side of Dimensions) 4. Rafael 5. Pegasus(Duelist Kingdom) 6. Joey Wheeler 7. Leon Von Schroeder(I'm counting Golden castle of Stromberg) 8. Zingfried Von Schroeder 9. Yami Bakura( He had Marik beat, along with Kaiba in season 5.) 10. Marik Ishtar Honorable Mentions: Rebecca Hawkins( Dartz( Dude lost with the most broken deck in history.) ishizu ishtar Mai Valentine
Hot take i honestly think odion/rashid deserves a spot on this list arguably above joey. He does flat out defeat him in battle city the only reason joey won is marik forceing him to play ra which losses his the duel by DQ plus he is the one that got the locator cards for him and marik and while yes they were off screen its still a pretty decent feet all things considered. Love the video anyway keep up the great work
Hot take: I think people really over rate past main villains aka Marik and Pegasus. Yes they were a menace in their respective arcs but the power level of characters really increse as the series goes on. I really believe that a character like Valon can beat Marik easily.
That's not such a hot take for me. I thought it was obvious that the main arc villains of Yu-Gi-Oh DM (aka Pegasus, Marik, Yami Marik, Noah, Dartz and Yami Bakura) aren't great duelists. They mainly win only when using a combination of cheating, broken Egyptian god cards, broken millennium items, or absurd plot BS. I thought that was the point of DM. To show how good the protagonists are as duelists in spite of usually being at a disadvantage compared to their villains. Joey is the rookie with no money who grew to become the 3rd best in the show, behind only protagonist Atem/Yugi and main rival Kaiba. And Kaiba himself only ever loses to main character Yugi or to the main arc villains.
(rubs hands together in excitement) Ok, this is actually so cool, but the top 3 are actually in contention. In my opinion the top 3 are: Yugi, Atem, Kaiba if you think that Yugi beating Atem means that Yugi is strictly stronger than Atem and if you think Kaiba acknowledged Yugi as KOG (better than himself and Atem) Atem, Yugi, Kaiba if you think that Yugi only had a good matchup against Atem and you believe that Kaiba acknowledged Yugi as KOG (better than himself but not Atem since Atem was "dying", making Yugi the new king) Atem, Kaiba, Yugi if you think that Kaiba never acknowledged Yugi as the king of games like he did in the manga
I honestly think Little Yugi should have at least been Number 2 if not Number 1 by character statements alone. Kaiba and Atem declare Yugi as the true King of Games, and Yugi would have defeated Kaiba in DSoD if not for Diva. Yugi vs Atem could probably go either way, so at least they can share Numbers 1 and 2 together.
nice topic, tho theres characters that are more popular within the community like yusei or zane, and those that are generally well liked like dark yugi and joey.. while kaiba is kinda both
Marik actually was just playing with Joey. He missplayed on purpose so he could mess with him and torture him. Also I'd put Yugi above Seto, since he did the one thing Seto couldn't - defeat Atem (at his most powerful no less), and if we're counting DSOD, he'd have defeated Kaiba himself if Diva hadn't interrupted them.
Agree with most of the list. I would have to put Dartz before Rafael. Rafael deserves to be on the list, but I'd definitely put him lower than Dartz. I also would've replaced Mai with Yami Bakura. Sure, Bakura didn't have many wins, but look at who he was losing to. Aside from his loss to Marik using an Egyptian God, he only lost to Yugi and Yami Yugi, and he was close to beating Kaiba. And when you look at the complex strategies of the decks he used, it really does show how powerful and skillful he was of a duelist.
hey dylan loved the video! i think that yugi and atem are interchangeable but I'd put yugi as number 1 as even though dsod isn't the anime timeline its still proves how far yugi has come as the King of games or the Yu-Gi-Oh . Can't wait to see the Gx and 5Ds list
While Pegasus Is someone I will always side with and love, Dartz would beat him even with the eye. It was clearly stated and shown In season 4 that millennium items have no power against the Orichalcos.
Ngl I disagree w the start of the list- simply because Mai is genuinely one of the strongest duelist of the show, she just gets cucked by writing. Realistically she had beaten Marik until the, “You can’t read Egyptian Text.” Popped out of nowhere, & she also defeated Pegasus in Waking the Dragons, (offscreen, though, without his Millennium Eye.) I feel like she could be placed at 5th or 6th. Edit- got further into the video. Put Mai at 7th, probably tied with Joey to be honest
Bakura makes my list. Not only was his performance weak on purpose for the parts he lost but when decided to start really go after the items he crushed Pegasus and if remember correctly his duel-spirit "Demon" was on level with assembled Exodia.
How about a list of the ten best/ most interesting archetypes introduced in each show? Each show introduces amazing decks and archetypes and I'd be interested to hear your. thoughts on the best in each show. An example would be arcv introducing the predaplants or the valkyries in the filler of dm. Just pick the ten best in each and your thoughts on the way they were used, your thoughts on who used them etc.
I agree with your ranking. Surprised Leon Von Shroder was not included. Mai's spot at 10 works. Marik needed more 4 star monsters to tribute summon ra. Marik used tricks and abused monster reborn. Joey went through the most growth but his ranking was understandable. Pegasus always felt like a James Bond villian he toyed with his opponents. Rafael, Yugi, Seto, and Atem are some of the best duelists of all time. Would love seeing a GX, 5Ds, and ZeXal duelist ranking.
He never tribute summons Ra in the manga or the anime. He didn't think that he needed to use Ra on Joey and probably thought the same with Mai. The manga version of the Mai vs. Marik fight is a lot different. Marik has her on the ropes for the entire duel. In the anime, Mai comes out looking stronger. In the manga, Marik and Bakura seal Ra in the graveyard instead of using exchange to tribute summon it. Arguably, Yami Marik figured out before everyone else that it's easier to not tribute summon when you don't have to.
Id love to see you do a ranking of all of the duelists in all your top tens (probably an eventual top 70 ranking or so?). If any vid would be a good longer vid, itd be that one. You could probably divide them into tiers too
Little Yugi is definitely the King of Games, it's not up for debate. He beat the Pharaoh fair and square, destroying all 3 Egyptian God Monsters at the same time.
Yami Marik making the list is a travesty. He didn't win a single legit duel, every time he kept coming on top due to plot armor and dark magic BS that should have gotten im disqualified
It would be fun if after all the top 10's for every series you try to make a top 10 overall. That would be crazy hard to rank but I think it would make a fun video
I think Pegasus is honestly one of the best in the series with his deck and know in terms of the game coupled with what I believe to be the best millennium eye in terms of duels. Even against the ability to see the future(which can be forced through) or change fate, he’d see those changes as well so he’d be able to counter.
Dsod implied that yugi won we know kaibas facedown. Kaiba acknowledged yugi too as a good duelist like atem he smiled for that reason not because he had a way out of losing. Yugi moto should be 2. He surpassed kaiba and i think hes implied to grow enough to be as strong as atem by the end of duel monsters and the epilogue dsod. Plus pegasus still calls yugi the king of games even after he knows atem seperated from yugi in gx.
Maybe I'm misremembering, but in GX during the scene where Pegasus names his top 5, I thought it showed Atem when Pegasus names Yugi as his #1. Thus technically Pegasus might have been thinking about Yugi but the show itself uses Atem as the visual image.
while i don't agree with this list by a long shot, the fact that characters were shocked mai defeated pegasus without knowing he no longer has the eye in the anime really told them they had to step up their game
My top 10 is: 1: Yugi Muto (King of games) 2: Seto Kaiba (Pure beauty against Zigfried) 3: Pharaoh Atem (He lost to Rafael) 4: Joey Wheeler (The best but Yugi and Kaiba are better) 5: Maximmilion Pegasus (Only one to defeat Kaiba except Yugi, Atem, Noah and Dartz) 6: Marik Isktar (If he dueled Kaiba he would Trash him) 7: Dartz (Defeated Kaiba and lost to Atem because of Plot armor) 8: Zigfried Von Schroder (Even though it's not impressive to defeat Weevil and Rex but nearly defeated Kaiba) 9: Mai Valentine (Cause I have a crush for her☠️☠️☠️☠️) 10: Rafael (Cause I forgot what was out there except him☠️☠️☠️☠️)
Great list Dylan!! I agree with your list! Can you do a video with the greatest quotes from characters from all the shows?? Joey, Crow and Kallin had great quotes to me!! 300 to 100K!
Great List Dylan as always can't wait for the next one may be do top ace monster list ? As for my ranking 10: Mai 9: Bakura 8: Valon 7: Pegasus 6: Dartz 5: Joey 4: Yami Marik 3: Yugi 2: Kaiba 1: Atem
Yes, Joey would have beat Marik. But that is only because Marik heavily underestimated Joey. Any great sports team can lose to a worse team if they aren’t being serious. We’ve seen it so many times in real life sports.
I am surprised that Joey was ranked above Siegfried, since Joey lost to him. I also rank Dartz above Pegasus even at his peak. Dartz should be ranked above Rafael, even if Rafael defeated Yami Yugi. The fact that took Yami Yugi and Seto Kaiba to defeat Dartz says a lot, and Dartz had all levels of the seal of orichalchos. Finally, Yugi should be ranked above both Atem and Seto Kaiba. Yugi legitimately defeating Atem should be proof enough that Yugi was the stronger duelist. Even Seto couldn't manage a win against Atem without cheating, but Yugi did. Yugi was always good at duel monsters, but needed confidence, just as Atem needed the gentleness that Yugi had. Yugi should have been at the number one spot. Yugi even defeated Seto Kaiba in the dark side of dimensions movie, which follows manga continuity. Glad that Téa Gardner got an honorable mention due to her undefeated record.
Yeah even every battle against final villain from each arc Yugi contribute alot(he's the one come with idea mind shuffle and also, the fact that at that time he can keep up with Atem play and set up win for him, he's also the one that reminder Atem Ra weakness is it's user since the user become 1 with monster, and a fact that God was still a monster)
I like the list Dylan, that being said, I would put Joey in the top 5 (maybe even a tie for 4th with Raphael), essentially flipping him and Dartz's position. Dartz was an awesome filler villain (definitely in my top 10 in all of anime), but I don't think he's better than Joey, but that's just me.
Yami Yugi/Atem is definitely the strongest duelist in DM, but a duelist that didn’t even get an honorable mention that I think should is Aigami/Diva. Ok, I know he didn’t win a duel & he had a magical artifact, but the only purpose the quantum cube served in his duels was to turn the duel into a dimension duel & act as his duel disk. His Cubic deck was strong & he would’ve beaten Kaiba if he hadn’t been able to summon Obelisk. He gave Yugi a run for his money & beat Kaiba & almost beat Yugi after gaining the power of the Millennium Ring. He would’ve won won that duel if Atem hadn’t taken over for Yugi; if that isn’t the sign of a strong duelist then I don’t know what is.
You really sold Joey short here. Pegasus directly names him as the third strongest duelist there is in GX. He beat the intercontinental champion, the Japan regional champion, and Mako Tsunami that came third. Not to mention beating Yugi himself post battle city.
Top 10 duelists IMO would be: 1. Yugi/Atem 2. Kaiba 3. Dartz 4. Raphael 5. Yarik 6. Joey 7. Noah 8. Yakura 9. Maximilian Pegasus 10. Mai If counting Yugi and Atem as separate characters then: 1. Yugi (he's proven he surpasses Atem) 2. Atem (although I want to personally believe he's number 1 in my book and would've wanted to switch Yugi to number 2) 3. Kaiba 4. Dartz 5. Raphael 6. Yarik 7. Joey 8. Noah 9. Yakura 10. Maximilian Pegasus
Pegasus said to Aster Phoenix from GX that he is probably the best duelist in the world after Yugi, Kaiba and Joey so those 3 should be top 3 here as well
A few thoughts: 1.) Hope you had some tea after you recorded; your voice does *not* sound to be in good health. 2.) You're going to leave Yugi/Yami Yugi and Pegasus off of the GX one, right? 3.) Whenever you make it all the way to Vrains, are you going to sit on Sevens+ for a while, just to see how much past characters might show up?
I can definitely get behind this list! Was very happy to actually see Mai here. Everything you said about her was spot-on. If I could give another honorable mention for the females, I’d give one to Rebecca. The fact that she’s a genius plays a part, and she was ALWAYS with the shits! I loved her duel vs. Vivian in the KCGC arc…she systematically destroyed her in that duel. Always cool to watch 🙂
The real truth is Seto Kaiba was the real king of games from the entire Yu Gi Oh season 0 to duel and capsule monster. Yugi had the fate in his side and plot armor the whole time. Every villain in that series wether had Millenium Items or some kind of Magical power. Only Seto Kaiba used to duel Yugi without cheating.
Raphael dominated his first duel against the Pharoh and it only became close once he gave him The Seal and in the 2nd duel Raphael straight up just let the Pharoh win by playing soul charge.
4:25 your logic is terrible. He was literally playing around with his food. Joey got bodied by him regardless. Odion beats Joey without shenanigans then too, but you guys in the community never bring that up
I understand it, makes sense. In my opinion the only thing I’d change is put Darts right above Raphael. And p Yugi Moto could be above Seto Kaiba tbh. I’d say he should be there but not above Atem since he made his deck to specifically fight Atem as he knows him better than anyone else.
Seto's win against Yami, while obtained through blackmailing, is criticized to an absurd degree in my opinion. He did it for Mokuba, it was his way to save his brother. I think people should either NOT count that duel when it comes to Yami losing, or respect Kaiba for going to such a lenght for his brother.
In all fairness, the audience knew what Kaiba was fighting for, but the main characters didn't at the time. They didn't realize Mokuba was being held hostage by Pegasus. Although let's be real, they should have known, given what happened earlier with ghost Kaiba where Mokuba was also being held hostage then too.
Always a fun topic. We're going to have so much content thanks to this series, and it's all going to be fun Max power DM Seto Kaiba is pretty insane; he's got the Critias monsters, Chaos Emperor Dragon, dimension fusion, Obelisk, Card of Demise, Spell Sanctuary, etc Also Max power Joey gets the Hermos monsters, and that's pretty dope Quick question for everyone (that's kinda relavent): when you make a Seto Kaiba anime deck, Do you give him 1 copy of Mirror Force so that he can actually summon Mirror Force Dragon? Or you give him zero because he was never confirmed to use or own it?
Solid list, but Mai cannot be in the top 10. Even with the buff, I do not believe she would beat anybody listed above her in a fair fight, nor do I think she would defeat Rishid, Bakura, Valon, or Isis. I would have: Yugi Atem Kaiba Rafael Dartz Evil Bakura Leonhart von Schroeder Siegfried von Schroeder Jounouchi Isis/Rishid Malik and Pegasus have an argument for top 10, but I can't place them there due to statements and their lack of feats. (Anime only list)
7's a lucky number and Joey uses luck cards. Perfect spot for him
Imagine if Desperado was out back then, Joey's luck would have been a insane weapon.
Wanted to be surprised Bakura wasn't on the list but then realised most of his duels ended in his loss.
He had the best strategies and cards, just lost to plot armor lol

2:30 - Honestly, what was more impressive to me was Mai beating Pegasus down to 100 LP and then not even slowing down when he tried to turn the tables with Thousand Eyes Restrict. It was totally off-screen but the implications are horrific.
Season 4 did the best job showing how scary this new ancient evil was, and the power It granted It's users. Even the creator himself couldn't lay a hit on Orichalcos Mai.
I think that duel pissed people off more than impressed people. Mai of all people just flicks away the big bad of season 1 without blinking?? C’mon!!
Odion who was about to beat joey 🗿
Yeah and Yugi doesn't use any magical cheating stuff, also Atem was going all out against Yugi and Yugi still beat him fair and square.
It's a season 0 anime exclusive but there's a really cool Kaiba moment when a witch who wants a rare card Yugi has, has the Pharoah dead to rights and Kaiba steps in, mops the floor with her and declares that the only one that's allowed to defeat Yugi is him
Joey and Yugi done dirty here
I already love this strongest duelist series
Pegasus without his eye wouldn't beat Marik or Dartz.
@@alanchamberlain9902
Pegasus in GX makes a list of his top 5 duelists and he didn't even pick himself.
@@alanchamberlain9902
Sorry but Yami Marik not taking opponents seriously is a good reason to prove he's a bad duelist and he only wins based on plot BS shenanigans too.
Not only is he the American champion(?, show is really vague about it but it basically suggests there's some in-universe ranking system that he beats Rebecca at), he beat the Pharaoh then almost did it again while playing Guardians the whole time, beating anyone with that deck is an accomplishment
Not only that, he's also described as a "True Duelist" due to his bond with his deck, which leads to essentially a +>1 to topdeck luck. Man loves his deck so much he became top tier, which is worth a lot on its own
Sure, Dartz almost beat the two strongest duelists in the world at the same time, but I essentially headcanon him to having all his cards made for him as head of Paradius. He's the boss, he can do that. Dartz is a corrupt person, of course he'd make the most broken cards he could have, and then print the monsters in Enochian so only he knows the text on them lol. Not only that, the Orichalcos Duel Disks clearly aren't KC products, I also don't put it past him to make it read his fake cards or possibly go past anti-cheat functions (which kinda applies to all the other Orichalcos duelists)
Anyway, that was a bunch of theory and conjecture, but tl;dr Rafael is stronger than Dartz because he got that far with Guardians
Nope. You can say kaiba is clearly the best bc he constantly uses bewd to intercept his own momentum when he has CED and CCV
You can say weevil is the goat for winning a chip with insects. Odion for beating Joey with the slowest deck in history
I guess most people expected Yami Yugi to be number one
Commented this a while back but here is a video suggestion:
Cam Steady dropped 2 Yugioh themed raps; 2 cyphers, one with the main 'good' characters from DM and one with the villains of DM (each rapper represents one character).
No
When the entire series is over, can we get like a top 20 strongest in all of Yugioh
Marik was never serious until his final duel with yugi where, had Kaiba not given him devil's sanctuary and had nice Marik not surrendered, he would have won (as Yugi himself pointed out). Kaiba's calculations stated he only had 13% chance to defeat marik, which says a lot
Same thing, Bakura actually OTK'd Jonouchi during their manga exclusive duel in the final arc. And it's actually implied he defeated Pegasus to take his millenium eye in the manga too
Marik surrendering or not Atem would have won, Ra was destroyed and Marik had no plays left
@@Lilgabi251 except you're forgetting Yugi had no monster left in his deck and Marik looked pretty confident he would have been able to turn things around. Summoning Ra back from the graveyard is what his deck is built for
Bakura didn't OTK Jonouchi, he played a card that said "Eat your opponent's soul." Pretty sure I could top a YCS with a card like that.
I haven't rewatched the DM anime for a long time, so my top 10 based only on the manga would be:
1. Yugi
2. Atem
3. Kaiba
4. Yami Bakura
5. Yami Marik
6. Isis Ishtar
7. Pegasus
8. Jonouchi
9. normal Marik Ishtar
10. Mai
Honourable mentions:
* Rishid Ishtar, because he would've beaten Jonouchi in Battle City if not for Marik forcing him to summon fake Ra and get knocked out, but he has no other duels so can't rank for me.
And my top 10 including the manga AND DSOD would be:
1. Atem
2. Dark Aigami
3. Yugi
4. Kaiba
5. Yami Bakura
6. Yami Marik
7. Isis Ishtar
8. Pegasus
9. normal Aigami
My rankings would be:
1. Yugi Muto
2. Seto Kaiba
3. Yami Yugi
4. Dark Aigami
5. Seto Kaiba
6. Joey Wheeler ]
7. Raphael ]
8. Yami Bakura ]
9. Yami Marik ]
10. Mai ]
] - A little interchangeable between these people.
Aigami is overrated
Your lists are way better than the one in this video lol
I'd like to see a top 10 best duelists for every yugioh series
Here's my List
1. Yugi Moto(Dark Side of Dimensions- I feel Yugi had surpassed Yami by this point)
2. Yami Yugi(Atem)
3. Kaiba(Dark Side of Dimensions)
4. Rafael
5. Pegasus(Duelist Kingdom)
6. Joey Wheeler
7. Leon Von Schroeder(I'm counting Golden castle of Stromberg)
8. Zingfried Von Schroeder
9. Yami Bakura( He had Marik beat, along with Kaiba in season 5.)
10. Marik Ishtar
Honorable Mentions:
Rebecca Hawkins(
Dartz( Dude lost with the most broken deck in history.)
ishizu ishtar
Mai Valentine
(rubs hands together in excitement)
Ok, this is actually so cool, but the top 3 are actually in contention. In my opinion the top 3 are:
Yugi, Atem, Kaiba if you think that Yugi beating Atem means that Yugi is strictly stronger than Atem and if you think Kaiba acknowledged Yugi as KOG (better than himself and Atem)
Atem, Yugi, Kaiba if you think that Yugi only had a good matchup against Atem and you believe that Kaiba acknowledged Yugi as KOG (better than himself but not Atem since Atem was "dying", making Yugi the new king)
Atem, Kaiba, Yugi if you think that Kaiba never acknowledged Yugi as the king of games like he did in the manga
You did Joey dirtry. The corect order is 1 Yugi, 2 Yami, 3 Seto, 4 Joey :)
Here’s a topic to tackle:
Who’s the most attractive/popular Yu-Gi-Oh character/card/etc?
Thanks for the suggestion Josh! Will add it to my list! :)
nice topic, tho theres characters that are more popular within the community like yusei or zane, and those that are generally well liked like dark yugi and joey.. while kaiba is kinda both
@@YugiohEverything I have a sneaking suspicion Dark Magician Girl will be near the top of the list.
Uhh Dark Magician Girl...?
Nice topic
Great list and awesome video. My list:
1.Atem
2.Yugi
3.Kaiba
4.Dartz
5.Rafael
6.Joey
7.Marik
8.Yami Bakura
9.Pegasus
10.Mai
Marik actually was just playing with Joey. He missplayed on purpose so he could mess with him and torture him. Also I'd put Yugi above Seto, since he did the one thing Seto couldn't - defeat Atem (at his most powerful no less), and if we're counting DSOD, he'd have defeated Kaiba himself if Diva hadn't interrupted them.
Very fair, but it almost cost him the duel. He definitely underestimated Joey's ability
@@YugiohEverything that's the thing about Jonouchi he's underdog
I also want mention both marik and yami marik without ra is below ishizu
Leon should be on here versus his brother
I like that Yami Bakura and Noah aren't on the list.
i think top 10
1.yugi moutu
2.atem
3.seto kaiba
4.jeoy wheeler
5.yami marik
6.dartz
7.yami bakura
8.pegasus
9.rafael
10.mai valentine
Pegasus may only be ranked 5 in power, he gets top billing for voice actor :)
I am still upset that in the Noah Arc they couldn't gave my boy Kaiba the Win
How ironic that Raphael won against Atem without the Seal of Oricalcus and in their second duel Raphael uses it and lost.
Hi Yugioh Everything I love this and I hope you have a good day and you are awesome
Yugi and Kaiba are still the poster boys of the YGO franchise, too iconic
Ngl I disagree w the start of the list- simply because Mai is genuinely one of the strongest duelist of the show, she just gets cucked by writing. Realistically she had beaten Marik until the, “You can’t read Egyptian Text.” Popped out of nowhere, & she also defeated Pegasus in Waking the Dragons, (offscreen, though, without his Millennium Eye.) I feel like she could be placed at 5th or 6th.
Edit- got further into the video. Put Mai at 7th, probably tied with Joey to be honest
Bakura makes my list. Not only was his performance weak on purpose for the parts he lost but when decided to start really go after the items he crushed Pegasus and if remember correctly his duel-spirit "Demon" was on level with assembled Exodia.
so Rafael is the strongest duelist for the villain side in duel monster according to you.
I personally got Little GOAT at #1 and Yami GOAT at #2. Great video!
1. Dartz🎉
2. Pegasus
3. Zigfried
4. Yami Marik
5. Yami Bakura
6. Noah Kaiba
You could probably divide them into tiers too
I would say little yugi is stronger then kaiba by the end of the series, as evidenced by his win against kaiba in dsod.
Joey is still my favorite he had no god cards
Little Yugi is definitely the King of Games, it's not up for debate.
He beat the Pharaoh fair and square, destroying all 3 Egyptian God Monsters at the same time.
Yami Marik making the list is a travesty. He didn't win a single legit duel, every time he kept coming on top due to plot armor and dark magic BS that should have gotten im disqualified
It would be fun if after all the top 10's for every series you try to make a top 10 overall. That would be crazy hard to rank but I think it would make a fun video
10: Yami Marik
9: Mai
8: Zigfried
7: Jonochi Kenzaki
6: Seto kaiba
5: Pegasus
4: Raphael
3: Dartz
2: Atem
1: Yugi Moto
I think Pegasus is honestly one of the best in the series with his deck and know in terms of the game coupled with what I believe to be the best millennium eye in terms of duels. Even against the ability to see the future(which can be forced through) or change fate, he’d see those changes as well so he’d be able to counter.
Hope this series allows you to make the push to 100k subs Dylan!
I can't wait for the GX video
Should be out in a couple weekends! :)
There is an actual list by Pegasus .
Yugi, kaiba, joey , are top 3 , then he put aster and Jessy Anderson if I remember correctly
Fun fact: Wayne Grayson played both Joey and dartz
And Shadi
Good vidéo, my top :
1)atem
2)yugi muto
3)seto
4)aigami
5)dartz
6)rafael
7)jonouchi
8)ziegfrid
9)mai
10)valon/varon (I don't know exactly his name 😂)
Joey: *gets destroyed by Siegfried*
Also Joey: *loses to Yami Marik*
Dylan: "Number 7 is Joey Wheeler"
Yeah, makes total sense.
Somebody told, that Noah exist default in Nightmare Troubadour YOH game :)
My mind immediately went to zigfreid so I'm glad he made the list
Top minor duelists who rarely duels in their life:
1. Téa
2. Serenity
3. Tristan
My top 10 is:
1: Yugi Muto (King of games)
2: Seto Kaiba (Pure beauty against Zigfried)
3: Pharaoh Atem (He lost to Rafael)
4: Joey Wheeler (The best but Yugi and Kaiba are better)
5: Maximmilion Pegasus (Only one to defeat Kaiba except Yugi, Atem, Noah and Dartz)
6: Marik Isktar (If he dueled Kaiba he would Trash him)
7: Dartz (Defeated Kaiba and lost to Atem because of Plot armor)
8: Zigfried Von Schroder (Even though it's not impressive to defeat Weevil and Rex but nearly defeated Kaiba)
9: Mai Valentine (Cause I have a crush for her☠️☠️☠️☠️)
10: Rafael (Cause I forgot what was out there except him☠️☠️☠️☠️)
Great list Dylan!! I agree with your list! Can you do a video with the greatest quotes from characters from all the shows?? Joey, Crow and Kallin had great quotes to me!! 300 to 100K!
Seeing that "kids WB" logo makes me feel really old
Great List Dylan as always can't wait for the next one may be do top ace monster list ? As for my ranking 10: Mai 9: Bakura 8: Valon 7: Pegasus 6: Dartz 5: Joey 4: Yami Marik 3: Yugi 2: Kaiba 1: Atem
bro darts dueled no.2 and no.1 at the same time and barely lost he deserves his placement
Yes, Joey would have beat Marik. But that is only because Marik heavily underestimated Joey. Any great sports team can lose to a worse team if they aren’t being serious. We’ve seen it so many times in real life sports.
it's funny how Yami Bakura, you know...the main antag of Yu-gi-oh DM, is not even on this list, but fair tbh
How about a video where you show and explain each character's deck for each arc?
Yami screwed the rules of life and death to save the world he deserves to be the best
10) Mai Kujaku
9) Yami Bakura
8) Siegfried von Schroeder
7) Yami Marik

5) Pegasus J. Crawford

2. Kaiba
3. Dartz
4. Raphael
5. Yarik
6. Joey
7. Noah
8. Yakura
9. Maximilian Pegasus
10. Mai
If counting Yugi and Atem as separate characters then:
1. Yugi (he's proven he surpasses Atem)
2. Atem (although I want to personally believe he's number 1 in my book and would've wanted to switch Yugi to number 2)
3. Kaiba
4. Dartz
5. Raphael
6. Yarik
7. Joey
8. Noah
9. Yakura
10. Maximilian Pegasus
Pegasus said to Aster Phoenix from GX that he is probably the best duelist in the world after Yugi, Kaiba and Joey so those 3 should be top 3 here as well
A few thoughts:
1.) Hope you had some tea after you recorded; your voice does *not* sound to be in good health.
2.) You're going to leave Yugi/Yami Yugi and Pegasus off of the GX one, right?
3.) Whenever you make it all the way to Vrains, are you going to sit on Sevens+ for a while, just to see how much past characters might show up?
I can't believe grandpa isn't on the list

People keep saying this, and just ignore that in the manga that he top decked the Blue-Eyes he stole via cheating.
1. Raphael
2. Pharoh
3. Kaiba
4. Marik
5.Zigfried
6.Mai
7.Odion
8.Joey
9.Bakura
10. Val
So up to VRAINS.. Can't wait!
Yami Yugi didn't lose. Yugi did because took over to sabotage the game and he received the finishing blow.
I would have included Tea but she only had 3 duels so therefore she doesn't count since she doesn't have enough duels
Always a fun topic. We're going to have so much content thanks to this series, and it's all going to be fun
Max power DM Seto Kaiba is pretty insane; he's got the Critias monsters, Chaos Emperor Dragon, dimension fusion, Obelisk, Card of Demise, Spell Sanctuary, etc
Also Max power Joey gets the Hermos monsters, and that's pretty dope
Quick question for everyone (that's kinda relavent): when you make a Seto Kaiba anime deck, Do you give him 1 copy of Mirror Force so that he can actually summon Mirror Force Dragon? Or you give him zero because he was never confirmed to use or own it?
Wheres tristan?!? I dont see anyone else on this list let alone the anime easily winning a 3v1 against a trio of rate hunters like him 😈😈
Solid list, but Mai cannot be in the top 10. Even with the buff, I do not believe she would beat anybody listed above her in a fair fight, nor do I think she would defeat Rishid, Bakura, Valon, or Isis. I would have:
Yugi
Atem
Kaiba
Rafael
Dartz
Evil Bakura
Leonhart von Schroeder
Siegfried von Schroeder
Jounouchi
Isis/Rishid
Malik and Pegasus have an argument for top 10, but I can't place them there due to statements and their lack of feats.
(Anime only list)
