I spent 19 months (1997-1999) working in the Asia-Pacific region, with a lot of time in Singapore. I loved Singapore (and the whole AP experience) but seldom ate at western style fast food restaurants. Instead I generally (at least for dinner) got the equivalent of local fast food from the food court vendors in (usually the basement of) shopping malls. I was blown away by how good the vegetable based dishes were. I am an American raised in a home where we rarely ate more than corn, green beans, and a few other blandly prepared vegetables so those vegetable dishes made a huge difference in my appreciation of dishes that weren't meat/potatoes/bread.
The McDonalds in Singapore is something else, it's truly elite and top tier. Whoever manages the Pacific region/ Singapore menu needs a raise. I now live overseas but I always miss the mcspicy chicken and look forward to their seasonal releases. One honourable mention was their spicy black pepper Chinese New year burgers back when I was growing up. When Mike bit into the prawn burger I had to look away for a moment cz of the pain, I knew how good it was going to be. (Sigh, bites knuckle)
The Buttermilk Chicken Burger is one of my favourite, you'd think pineapple in a burger might be weird, but it just goes so well together with the rest of it, it's like a freshness that cuts through the grease and provides such a great contrasting texture. I highly recommend that for people coming to Singapore, try it at least once!
Hey Mike! Welcome to Singapore. McDs sauces are readily available, they have Curry sauce, Bbq and I believe sweet and sour. U can request for them for free when u purchase their meals !😌
Man Mcdonalds in other counties is much higher quality than in NA & UK, I'm so jealous. Here in Canada, we get a bigmac with bacon... Or a Western BBQ burger (which is really good btw) but still, I would love more items like these.
After watching a lot of your Singapore vlogs, I'm changing my travel plans & putting Singapore on the list of stops! Perhaps, a week or so! Cut back on Vietnam!
i’m from singapore but this video definitely awakened the foodie in me lmao, i didn’t even know about the majority of these new products either :o gotta find me the mango ice cream real soon
Your reviews are always spot on when I get to travel and try. Oh, and welcome back to Singapore! Even though I’m local you manage to bring new places/foods to my attention!
Hi Mikey! My husband and I are big fan of yours!! We love to watch your videos especially while we’re eating haha. We would love to meet you around singapore. Btw the pulut hitam is pronounced as “pooloot hetAm” hahaha enjoy ur stay here!
Mike I really enjoy your videos. None of my business but I do hope you get your Blood pressure & cholesterol checked regularly with all the fast food that you eat. I know that your wife & your parents care alot about you along with your Subscribers! Plus even with exercise you still need to keep up with those two things. Iam just someone who cares about you, pls don't be offended. God bless you & yours.
If there is any restaurant you have to eat at in Singapore it is Sin Huat Eating House in Geylang. Try the Crab Beehoon, the scallops and make sure you order the vegetables. The reviews maybe mixed but is one of if not the best seafood restaurant. What the video of Anthony Bourdain eating there.
We have many sauces. My favourite is curry sauce. BBQ sauce can go with spicy chicken too to tone things down. However, they don't give those to u automatically. U have to request/ask for them 😊 hope this helps
It used to be a British Colony, and as well it's a business hub and Capitalist Paradise. English is the money language so it's no surprise that English is used.
Thanks Mikey. We can’t wait to try the laksa burger when we go to Singapore. Loved your enthusiasm in this video. Felt like you were talking right to us. We also know how it feels to get distracted by food everywhere you go in Asia.
Mikey! The next time you’re at Junction 8, you can try this really cheap and delicious Xi’An place called Shixiangge. It’s located at the coffeeshop above Bishan bus interchange!
I just finished the first episode of the No Recipe Road Trip with the try guys and got really excited when I found out that your going to be on of the judges later in the season
Come try McDonalds in Finland. We do have local things, but they are not flashy at all. Almost frustratngly healthy options like McVegan on whole rye bread or you could have oatmeal for breakfast at your local McD 😂
I think they have dipping sauces there. I remember they had awesome curry sauces there. It s usually given when you buy McNuggets. I don't know if the curry sauces is discontinued , I heard rumours that it was discontinued, but they have other dipping sauces other than curry sauce too. Ooh, I remember that singapore had sweet & sour (thai) chilli sauce too
i'm singaporean but i'm overseas for uni at the moment and I miss the food so much. next time you're at junction8, be sure to try out the Korean fried chicken store at the food court. it's the best.
Sumptuous laksa prawn burger. I must try that when I get to Singapore. The hitam pulut(black glutinous rice) pudding looks delicious. Thank you for introducing these. I wouldn't know they exists. Enjoy.
Why can't the McDonalds in the States be a faction of what the other Country's? Also, I really want to try out that Budget Japanese BBQ place, it looks so good and for a really good price!
Bubur Pulut Hitam aka 黑糯米 is a popular dessert in M'sia, SG & Indo. It can be found usually in stall selling desserts(ice-kacang etc) located in Hawker centre/Coffee Shop. Might wanna have a try, you won't regret it.
❤️ super excited for your new short video channel!! *might wanna edit the info line 😉 Thanks for all your awesome content, and your dedication creating it!! Many blessings 🤩🍜💪

Man that shrimp burger look so good, i usually don't eat shrimp because it can trigger my cholesterol that makes my neck hurt so much, but i think this one worth the pain.
Surfshark doesn't work for me! It blocks all internet signals and I can't get rid of it. I uninstalled it and it still came back after rebooting the computer.
Hey Mikey... it's pronounced laichee and not leechee. I'm not sure where is pulut hitam is from but it's basically black glutinous rice, we Chinese in Malaysia have it for dessert. Have fun in Singapore.
actually you can pronounce lychee either way officially (mainly based on which dialect of Chinese you speak I think - mandarin its leechee, cantonese is laichee). but Mikey does pronounce a lot of things incorrectly and always pronounces "th" as "d" and never pronounces the g at the end of -ing (dippin sauce)
Mikey, wanna share that theres now a mac donalds app. You can use it to order food to your table and there sometimes a 1 for 1 discount for the McSpicy Meal.
We have the McSpicy in aus at the moment. it has a decent kick to it, but somehow I think not as hot as the one in Singapore. Couldn’t say for sure though.

Mcspicy & prosperity burger are the best from McDonald's

I agree. I loved it so much on my trip to Singapore that I ate it literally every day
Singapore has a uniquely Ramly burger
I agree, IMO the Buttermilk Chicken Burger is better than the McSpicy lol
In the words of Argyle, “Try before you DENY!”
i like the double cheesebuirger

If Mikey had the choice of going to heaven or going to a buffet, no doubt about it, he'll be going to the buffet.
hahaha 😆
buffet is heaven
What?? Mike told me buffets ARE heaven!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What's the difference?

Vietnam also has great variety of food. Absolutely tasty things over there.

How does Mikey not know about the famous curry, garlic chilli and bbq sauce from mcdonalds 😩
Welcome back to Singapore Mikey !! We missed you so much !!
You gotta try the curry sauce at MacDonalds! The sauces aren't displayed anywhere or written. You gotta ask for them.
Even burger king curry sauce is good.
If i am sick, i always watching your vid for up my appetite man, thx brah for saving me 👍
I love videos from my home country. Giving me tons of recommendations for when I visit next year!
Welcome to Singapore again! Hope you had a great time ☺️
Mikey just showing around the world like food ninja! Thanks for all the awesome videos, happy travel! :D

@@araisikewai thank you
That chicken looks premium quality... But the pink colour would scare people in the West. We'd all assume it was raw :(
It's called pinking phenomenon.
It does seems pink in the video, but rest assured, I've never had a raw chicken/chicken burger from McD. The McSpicy is definitely Singapore’s fav.
Mike do few episode on singapore vending machine food etc...will love to see them.
That's it. I'm moving to Singapore. I'll eventually get over the language barrier. Thank you SO much, Mike!
You wont have language barrier, everyone there speaks english.. then they do converse in own language

You need to ask for the sauces. McNuggets with curry sauce
Whenever I go the yakiniku place , I dip the meat in the sauce before I grill it so the sauce caramelise and aroma goes overload.
In the very late 80’s early 90’s McDonalds had an orange sorbet. it was fantastic but was only around for one summer that I can remember.
welcome back mikey!! love to see you back here enjoying the mcspicy again HAHA
Pulut Hitam is malay word for black glutinous rice. Pulut hitam is normal ingredient for many of the local snacks, and desserts

They charge for sauces here in the US. I think it's like $0.30 to $0.59 extra for each serving depending on the place.
