About 6 months ago I was diagnosed with a chronic GI disease and I love/hate watching your videos so much. I liked watching them before but now it’s like some secret pleasure I have bc there’s no time in my future I will be able to eat the things you do without severe pain consequences. I’m glad your content features food that is usually very far from where I live bc then the excellent greasiness is already unattainable and not just by me stopping myself lol

In french, it's not very well defined. Sometimes we call them "fondant" (aka "melting"), sometimes "coeur coulant" (meaning "running heart"). Sometimes "fondant" is also used for another sort of chocolate cake which isn't a lava cake.

I live thru you two traveling and enjoying so many experiences and different foods. I don't know if it would apply to you or not. ..but a former student who couldn't eat gluten here in the States was told by his doctor that he'd be OK eating bread in France, because they process wheat differently

I was in Italy three years ago. I ate at McDonald’s one time in a train station to get something quick and I had the best double quarter pounder I’d ever tasted. I thought it was a fluke. For science’s sake, I sampled McDonald’s two more times during my two week trip. Every time was delicious!! I was jealous of them.
I had that HelloFresh dish (Tahini Hoisin Pork Noodles) for dinner tonight, and it was GREAT. Also happy my sauce was as loose as yours, was worried I messed mine up!

I still remember two fantastic meals I had with my family about 50 years ago as we were driving from England to Spain through France. Pa looked up the places to eat in the Les Routiers guide. Just fantastic! Not expensive or sophisticated, but the food was nothing I’d ever eaten before. Pa and I had a whole huge plate of prawns between us as my mother and sister didn’t like the idea of them. We were covertly watching two men on the next table sucking the brains out. We weren’t quite brave enough to try that :)
They allow them because they make money. I've been to France a few times and while I did enjoy some very enjoyable fine dining meals, not every meal needs to be that. Sometimes I just wanted a quick and relatively inexpensive bite. I went to McDonalds, got a cheeseburger and fries and was on my way.
there was a huge push back back in the day when McDonald's first implanted itself in France and lets be honest, we're still pretty anti American on principle generally speaking, but these places are so implanted in every day life now there's no reason why we wouldn't allow them. They make money.
I ate at the exact same McDonald's when I was in Paris in February (curiosity got to me), I was very unimpressed, thought it was way too overpriced as well. only thing I liked was some creamy sauce I got for the fries

When I was in the Navy, went to McDonald's in France as well......very different than in US. It did give the homesick sailor a feeling of home.....just the dose to make me and my shipmates feel warm and fuzzy so far from home.
I’ve never been more happy to be on a Mikey Chen video. I can’t say good, clean entertainment enough. There’s a lot of weird stuff being shoved down our throats on RUclips these days.
LOL, the same exact thing I was thinking! His channel and videos have been slowly changing with her influence. A lot more fancy dining, and him visiting a lot more European destinations. I like that he's expanding and trying out new cuisines, as i wanted to see him try out more western cuisines, but personally I love it best when he checks out a countries street food scene and see what the majority of people eat there on daily basis, instead of super fancy and expensive resturants that only a small percentage of people get to enjoy. Nothing wrong with enjoying the fancier things in life, the man has definitely worked hard enough to deserve it, but it's so much of that kind of cuisine is literally just expensive for the sake of being expensive, a status symbol or a way to show off and is nowhere near as enjoyable as small little hole-in-the-wall restaurants where people make food not to impress but to enjoy.

i tried french mcdonalds in 2008 in amboise on a whim, they had basically the same menu as the us mcdonalds but the cool thing was you could order beer(!) with your meal! i had a big mac, filet-o-fish and fries and i have to say that the quality and flavor was much better than what we get here in the states. my guess is that the us locations get their supplies after they have become a little stale...
That’s not true. The supplies for the us and for France are produced in completely different locations. McDonald’s uses American meat in the us, British meat in the UK and EU meat in the EU

Simply don't eat at McDonald's in France, it's not worth it. Even that nutella donut isn't worth it. It honestly didn't look good to me. If you HAVE to go to a burger chain, it's Burger King all the way. But you'd eat far better if you took your burger at a café or any restaurant but a chain.

We call the mini-burger McToast in Sweden. They only serve it at breakfast. Loved them but haven’t eaten them in like ten years.
