Nice daily. Really like the slimmer teklok which makes it easier to adapt to backpack front straps. But for a smaller knife it should be a taco sheath so it has an overall slim carry profile. The current sheath is quite bulky for a knife this size. Thanks for the vid!
I been looking for an edc fixed blade, that's something I never got for some reason, bc I usually carry my 119 when I'm carrying a fixed blade, but I've noticed sometimes I'd have preferred a smaller fixed blade once in a while.
Check out Asher Knives. They have two edc fixed blades that I think are just awesome. The prices is about $30-$40 more than the aforementioned Vosteed Mink, but they both have premium blade steels. One model, the Lil' Buddy is similarly shaped and sized to the Vosteed Mink and is availible in 3V or S90V, and the Fixie is a clip point and of similar size and comes in S90V. The Vosteed is good value for the money, but if you want better materials, check out Asher Knives. They do great folding knives too. BTW, I own a Fixie and I absolutely love it. My friend has the Lil' Buddy and has carried it everyday since he bought it. Good luck on your search. Love the aesthetic. I’m a sucker for OD green. Looks good with the black blade too. I really like that there’s enough of a transition that it would be virtually impossible for your finger to slide up on the edge. That gets overlooked a lot in smaller fixed blades. Been looking for a fixed blade EDC. I have huge handmade choppers and tiny fixies. Nothing in between. This is about hitting all the points. Nice to see a good a tough steel too. Very similar to AEB-L or 14c.
On Vosteed's website, it has them in stock for U.S. customers only... but it is $69.99. Seems like it will make a great edc fixed blade. I am o.k. with Nitro-V, the blade length is perfect with enough belly to be useful, and the micarta scales look good too. A rat tail tang will not be a hindrance in a knife of this size; I am sure Vosteed is going for weight reduction if the tang is skeletonized. The stonewash version has black scales. Glad it has a kydex sheath, it will probably fit well in the myriad of leather sheaths availible. I am with you on the Ulti-Clip, especially for pocket carry. I am not a fan of the color of the scales, but other than that, thus will make a legit edc for a decent price. Thanks Greg. GO GBALLERS!
Good first effort, I agree with you on most points. Here's my list of changes that would have me carrying an EDC fixed blade: First off, I have smaller hands and one of the pros of a fixie is the the blade can be longer than the handle. Obviously, you've got to be able to get a good grip, but there are ways to design the handle to be more compact yet still easy to grab and have a 3.5 or 3 inch blade. On a similar note, the main thing that holds me back is the bulky sheath. Much prefer a taco style sheath with a thumb push off. An effective pocket clip is a must have. Vosteed has proven to excel in innovation- let's see how compact they can make a sheath so can easily carry in a front pocket and not take more room in the pocket than a folding knife. Lastly, I'm just not a fan of how micarta traps dirt and oils- prefer a G10 option.
This is on my list for next month. I already got a Maxace and a Giant Mouse this month so my shank fund is depleted. Great video though. For some reason, I'm addicted to frag patterns and titanium.
I am surprised that more knives dont come with taco style sheaths. It has to be because the sheath are made out of house, because taco shaeths use less kydex, less eyelets, and less time to make. Seems like it would ba a no brainer. I bought some extra cabinet clamps, sone foam, sone kydex, an eyelet punch, and sone eyelets... I have made one sheath so far, not the prettiest, but I am getting the hang of it... everyone should give it a try!
I agree I doubt they are making them with this first one. I think they'll take customer feedback and adjust from there. At least they usually do. I think they'll adjust things for sure 😃
That’s a good looking fixie. I might have to pick one up. I’m hoping they make one with a harpoon drop point, stonewashed blade. Taco style sheath with an ulti-clip along with this clip would be ideal. 😃👍🏼
If this one gets good results. They will be doing a bunch of stuff I guarantee it brother. They'll adjust the sheath to I think. Or offer a different clip

Oh, neat! I'd heard a little about this but not enough to really sway me. I know they also do kitchen knives so not entirely out of left field.
