Inmate design. The hight of the grind is similar to the hight of the flat part of the blade if not equal. Design wise it is not recommended to have half half distances, except the case you have a perfect simetrical shape as like on a dager. A two third with a one third proportion at least, maybe would help. Making only the flat side of the blade more nerrow, as you mentioned, will probably increase visual the proportion of the blade. Thank you for everything you do for the knive community and for all the experience and knowledge you share with us. Can't wait to purchase a folder designed by you.
Xinzuo actually has some great models. XINZUO Hezen and Trivisa all have the same owner. The ZDP 189 are heat treated in Japan by hatta kyogo if I remember correct. Keep up the great work
Your designs are looking so awesome Jerad!!! I think that milling pattern on the WE Inmate looks so sweet especially with the black clip and blue milling anodized. All 3 folders look awesome and will definitely have to join the collection. Great Blade Show coverage also!
I wouldn’t worry about slimming the Inmate down. It looks perfectly fine the way it is. They don’t all have to be super slim. On a side note, I have a vintage version of that coin knife with what I think are ivory scales. It’s not a locking knife though, it’s very old.
Seriously mate, how much did you spend on Blade Show.? You brought back some treasure there...! As for the Inmate, try reducing the belly, change the thumb hole & yeah that plunge needs improvement. Better back spacer (not barrel). Reckon it's on bearings.? Slim the handle but keep the shape. So how much did Kara spend on the way back.?? Cheers from Australia.
The Inmate - thin the handle a little bit in the back, to have the same proportion as in front; the blade could be a little bit wider; go down a bit, santoku style; this will add a lot of sharpens. The spine with the oval hole... I would preffer it not poping out; I understand the reason behind it, but as far as it looks, for me dosen't look to appealing.
I wish you’d include the prices, or at least a range of cost, so I don’t waste my time tracking down one of these knives, only to find they’re thousands of dollars! I love your content and your expertise, and I’m really stoked about your collaboration, and how it came out! Hope you sell a whole mess of them!! Thank you!😊
That fixed blade is sick, you are trying to break me Jerad! Damn you and your awesome knives. Gotta say no on the inmate. I think it will take away from the comfort.
@@NeevesKnives regardless im purchasing both your we n reate.. Your killing it.. we have a similar storys except im from Philly.. Been clean over a decade now and off paper for about 8 yrs and knives really gave me something to put my obsessive mind too.. We are unicorns cuz most people dont make it out.. Dont know you but im always stoked to see someone else make it out.. And your thriving bro.. 👊👊👊
If WE made something out of S90V, I would have buy one long ago. And if they would be able to offer some tool steels with high hardness, it would be even better. How did you manage to get Reate to OEM one of your knives with K390 ??? I want to see this steel everywhere magnacut corrosion resistance is not needed !!! I would even want it in my shop, but European steel retailers do not offer it, all I can do is order a few tons from the producer 😅 so I can’t lol.
Those scales would look great anodized. Jared, sharpening question: Does the size of the bur matter? Is it better to have it really prominent or closer to where you can just start feeling it? I agree your WE knife would look better thinner. The blade makes me think of those fat little submarines lol. I mean that in the best way possible.
Wont complain about more plunge grind... Overall the inmate looks great as it is... but once its put next to the misdemeanor I can see what youre talking about... curious to see how it looks like that...
Would 100% like to see WE use more steels. Would love to see them do S90V, more Vanax, Magnacut, and I would love to see K390 if they can get it at 63+ HRC.
@NeevesKnives I was talking about his other little knife. I wasn't clear at all about that. My buddy got in bad shape and I had to leave early so I missed Steve's table among many.
Your WE knife looks awesome, don’t change the width, that double harpoon fixie with a hollow grind I would stand in line for, especially with Steve doing the grind and the Demarco fixie is very cool also. Thanks Jared 😎
A little slimmer but maybe make the handle slightly more rounded to keep the grip comfy. Not sure I like the slight angle for the hump for the blade fuller hole versus a singular line.
@@NeevesKnives that’s fair. It can be more octagonal to give grip. But it will just depend on hand feel after the slimming along the other axis I suppose whether a thicker handle is needed

Agreed! Just a little less flat and I think it will look much better. That's all it needs.

thank you Austin
Please make a budget version of your folding knife that has that beautiful Metal TING to it.
That double harpoon will look gorgeous with a hollow grind 😮
Those scales for the manix are 🔥, holy 🐄. Also, why does it seem like 95% of higher end knives are all frame locks???

Dude, I am so hyped for your knife!
That we knife looks dynamite and not in a Napoleon kind of way. Agree that other steels would be good this knife needs a hollow grind. Good stuff
Ohh stitch scales 😁
Love your new WE design, HATE the jimping. Match the jimping pattern you have on the back spacer and the knife is perfect!!!
i actually agree with you the original design had a larger flipper with finer jimp
Shorten your WE creation, and bang out the mini asap
That fixie of yours is exactly what im looking for in a fixed blade right now.
Hell yes, coming soon, possibly with a hollow not sure yet
All i want from WE is more Vanax.

love the JW Fixie
Yeah it's great, I might know someone possibly making some sick custom scales for us in actual high quality micartas and cf etc
I’d vote to not thin your knife. Let this one ship and do a follow up just as you imagine it. Perfect is the enemy of good.

One vote for slimming it down we need or maybe a smaller version that is slimmer? Old man here and I just prefer a smidge smaller knife.
Thank you
Get a narrows then and let benchmade make you look gey
will we get a review on the solstice? looking to pick one up soon
I like the Inmate just like it is. I would leave it. That being said if it really bothers u then change it that way u have no regrets
I love it, I just wonder if taking a little off top might be better, it's difficult to know without it I. Hand the other way
Hes gonna take some off the top homie, now will you just buy one?

If you have to ask you can't afford it
Sounds like you're talking about blade show stuff specifically.
i dont say prices because they are subject to change, and i typically link the items in the description if i can so you can easily get information
@@mikeizzo1993 I just bought an $800 knife, 2 days ago, so keep your smart ass comments to yourself. No, I am not lying.
You think he doesnt consider that? My mans keeps it a secret from foos like u on purps g!
The Ocaso is $135 for g10 and d2 🙉🙈
T.Kell for the win!
Its a WE sebenza
That fixed blade is sick, you are trying to break me Jerad! Damn you and your awesome knives. Gotta say no on the inmate. I think it will take away from the comfort.
Those Jack Wolf Fixes are absurd for a small fixed blade made in China. Their prices are more absurd than Benchmade
The KVT looks a lot like a toor knife
I def wouldnt want a 1/4 invh off the top of your we knife but i have giant hands so im probably a bad person to ask.. it does look great tho
Thank you for your opinion

I would NOT thin out your WE designed knife. Comfort is king.slim knives don't look good in my opinion anyway. ❤

message me on instagram, or email please?

Thanks bro
WHY DIDN'T YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE LACK OF A SHARPENING CHOIL ON THE HOGHOUSE?
Because he didn't buy it. When your given the knife you gotta be all positive.
Love you brotha I just started trying to make videos myself lol

Dude, you are the best. I used to sell Windows and doors and tore up my territory. But man, can you lay out a knife!!!!
He cost me hundreds and hundreds hahaha
I like powdered steel making it into chef knives
Damn man your knife designs are awesome! Me personally I like the way the Inmate looks as it is.

No
The carbon fiber weave being the same direction as the satin finish could be neat
Absolutely
Definitely thin the Inmate. Jared & Steve collaboration let’s gooooo! 👊🤘
I definitely think that you should slim it down.
Wow?
Dammit. I missed getting one of his little fixies. Yours has poon aplenty.
It's not available yet bud

Double Harpoon? DOUBLE MAN THEM!
Congrats on all you are doing bro.
Your We knife is a little tall for me. I think slimming it down a little is a good idea. Love the scales. Will there ne a lefty run?
No
A little slimmer but maybe make the handle slightly more rounded to keep the grip comfy.
Not sure I like the slight angle for the hump for the blade fuller hole versus a singular line.
When a handle is to round it spins in hand, this has imho the perfect amount or round and flat for amazing ergos

As far as your knife design with WE, I would choose comfort over looks. I think it looks great as it is.
Thank you
Its perfect foo wtf?
