This is a difficult interview, in my opinion. I was born in early 1957, February 8th, and I've lived through many eras of surfing legends and extreme talents. And every so many years or decades someone comes along that has phenomenal talent above and beyond everyone else that has ever come before. And sometimes it comes in the form of brothers with never before seen talent. But when Andy and Bruce came along, it was like, a huge swath of surfers just got moved out of the way, because these guys were on a level so much higher than everyone else, that that is what happened. Bruce with a more freeform natural talent, and Andy, with a more competitive talent. But both so far into the stratosphere that it was impossible to determine which one was better. And the professional tour wasn't in a position to determine that because how do you judge surfing on such a higher level when you have businesses and companies that you are trying to keep on the map? These guys were in the stratosphere of the accomplishment of their shear talent, and their life on land had nothing to do with it. It's all about their life in the world's best waves and what they did with that, that sperated them from all the rest, forever.
Just watched, “Kissed By God”. Very well done documentary. Super heartbreaking. I wish he would have been able to receive more help. Drugs are never the answer. Never. I can’t imagine his wife being just a couple weeks from delivering a baby and finding out that he died. I can’t imagine.

Watched kissed by God and it was hard to watch. Amazing but just sad ya know how it ends. I wasn’t shocked or surprised by any of it. Pretty much knew what goes on. I don’t blame or judge. We all have demons. I think I was being hard on Bruce in another comment. That dudes been through enough

I am haunted everyday of one I miss dearly. But I know he/she wants us to move on. Love your movie, Bruce, and it continues to give inspiration to many. You are your own entity as well. Great to be related to the legend but you are yourself a legend and great person who still can give to us in the living. Love you as I friend I never met and do what you do, in the public eye or not. We all keep doing until we are taken back to God.

***** You're right. Everybody reacts differently. Having said that, I once spent the day with Bruce Irons when he was stoned out of his mind and it was like being with a severely retarded person. That's his right, and he appeared to enjoy it but I would never destroy my mental capacity like that even for short term.

"Nothing is new under the sun"-Solomon Sometimes we may lose sight of our Maker, getting good where we are not remembering things we take for granted that when we die, we will get to see what Andy, my folks, my brother, my team from MAG-13, Paul, David, Moses , Adam and Eve get to see! It's GOD! We all will see him. I've been saved for over 40 years and I'm still scared to meet him even though he loves me and knows more about my life then I do. Life is short,weather you step on a mine at twenty or die in bed at 93. Life is short. God is still on the throne. Thank God! Otherwise I may not have done the crazy things I did. Jim Paull wonderful. Love is the answer, we as humans cannot feel anything stronger than love, and god is love. Stop bullying and hating, we are all brothers of the same family. It is true that salaries are bullshit compared to how expensive everything is. People here in south america struggling, all the world is struggling. Childs cant even go to school because the havent it anything. I dont have a lot of money but always try to donate clothes, money , food whatever i have. World leaders live life like they are the last generation, they dont care for each other and the people. They care about how much money they can put in their pants before leaving their wealthy position. We need more free schools and free food and more love. This is a test of God , god has no name he is so big it does not fit on our mind. He loves us and he gave us something powerful which is the possiblity to HELP OTHERS. When god invented the world the animals were all vegans, land was nice and soft, after “evil” was born the land hard to harvest. The DNA of animals changed, they can be fierce as humans.
