I think it's not the hardware that matters--maganda na yung hardware production nila. It's the software at the end of the day. Remember controlled parin nila yung software over the air. The biggest fear is them shutting down these cars over the air in the event of a war. ginagawa na nila yan with Tiktok, remember they have been deleting West Philippine Sea content lately?

This car is actually used as a Bolt taxi in Thailand as we rode one when we were there (local Grab version) and the driver even said that the Thai government is giving discounts to buyers when they buy EVs (around THB 150k or 250k in our currency, iirc based on what the driver said to us). Hoping for something similar in PH (or is it something that's added to the EVIDA law already? I might be left out with updates on this lol)

Thai people and their gov are wise. By having more people using EV, they can alleviate the problems associated with the use of ICE cars in heavily congested city areas.
EV don't pollute the air, nor cause noise, nor heat up the air even they are stuck in traffic jam.

Hello DTI this car is overly overpriced in the Philippines. Considering the waived EV tax the markup is just too high. It's not the shipping, not the tax then what is it? In Singapore this is just 20k usd and that is even the top variant plus Singapore is way farther w much higher shipping costs.

still sad price. 1.8M is the price of an Atto 3 in Australia. Reasonable price premium on EVs should be 4-5 years of fuel consumption on top of the price of an equivalent gas vehicle. In the Philippines, Toyota Rush is a good match to the Atto 3. the Rush is 1.2M so an Atto 3 good price at 1.4M to 1.5M pesos.

These cheap cars are fire hazards and/or time bombs. Their lithium ion batteries could catch fire or explode in the wet humid environment of the country. And if you ever end up driving through a flooded area, abandon the car afterwards. Fortunately japanese hybrids tend to use safer nickel hydride batteries (for now). Sana car reviewers also review the safety aspects of electric cars they present. Drive these cars in more realistic road conditions: dirt roads, muddy streets, and flooded areas, and also during a typhoon!
