- Fishing for ribbonfish is incredibly challenging. They feed vertically so it is difficult to set your hook or you get cut off from their sharp teeth. At the end of the day you are rewards with delicate white tender meat from a fish that requires little to no cleaning. That is why so many target them, but also hate them because their lure gets cut off targeting other species. They carry many names such as hairtail, beltfish, cutlass, and ribbonfish.

@@ZephyrFishing cool! I watched a lot of your videos recently. lots of good content on pier fishing in the DMV area. Do you know when will spot leave Matapeake pier for winter? I went fish last weekend, caught some spot, but the bite is not active.
@@geoiowa water temp is dropping rapidly. They're seeing yellow bellies at buckroe last week but they should be out of there soon to since they started to roll in heavy to surf city NC. Anything you catch in MD now are just the babies lacking behind. White perch should have moved up in the rivers now too for the winter
