I’ve literally watched 75% of your videos rob. I can’t thank you enough for the inspiration you give me. I’d love to meet you some day and make a memory.
This man is such a wholesome guy I just got done watching the video about how he will give a full day with him if you help out kids and their families by donating and to me that is such a cool idea. Not only is he helping out kids that are sick and their families but he is giving two people a chance to spend a full day with him. He is helping out people, not earning any money, and he is paying for a flight and stuff so he can help people out. Not many people would do that. Much love Robert✊🏻❤️✊🏻❤️.
I am a proud US citizen as well, BUT what I am not proud of is the well accepted history of lies associated with the wars our military have been lied into fighting. Just because you love the US and the military doesn't mean you have to blindly accept the narrative associated with it and our history, a great deal of it goes further than what you were taught or are told in the media, don't trust me on this, look into it. A great place to start would be with Dwight D. Eisenhower's final speech to the US and General Smedley Butler's speech and book, War is a Racket. Before anyone says anything, my primary motivation is the military, we shouldn't let them be used like they are and everyone needs to see it!
TheGoonies410 i support everyone being equal but the riots an looting an having people in the streets needs to stop. The Mask stuff needs to stop thats just a tool by the left to see how well citizens would react to socialism
Ijah Maccabees first, I’m speaking as an American of Asian descent. I’ve never bought into the view that someone should be held accountable for the deeds of their ancestors. If a white American’s ancestors owned slaves, does that make that person guilty of the same crime their ancestors committed over a century ago? What about the whites whose ancestors fought on the side of the Union? There’s plenty of racial injustice that needs to be removed from society in the present day without dragging in the misdeeds of people long dead. We remember the past so that history doesn’t repeat itself but work on the present to secure a better future for everyone in our country, regardless of race, creed, or sex. Hope I don’t offend, just my two cents.
I've destroyed myself, thrown away a fortune and somehow found my way back from sorrow and synthetic happiness, I have to tell you that your story and life and adventures have lead to very positive aspects in my life. Thank you and blue Gabe for your awesome videos and constant messages of positivity. You guys rock.
Dude I'm not sure what I like better...catching the fish or your amazing off the cuff cooking idea's! Oh who am I kidding, there's nothing like the amazing thrill of seeing what you bring in! That was an amazing fish!! Then to see the sub and destroyer...priceless! I lived in that area in 1979...Little Creek in the beginning...wow...that place was like going back to the sixties on a crazy acid trip! Only I was the sober one. I lived in a household of Navy Seamen. Rent was cooking, cleaning and haircuts! Then I got a real job and moved to VB....sooo beautiful! At the end I lived right on the edge of Little Creek and Chesapeake Bay in a 1926 old funeral home made into a duplex. Right on the beach where a permanent carnival used to be. Got to board the ships and go out to sea on family day...amazing. So much to tell and quite a testimony... one of so many in my life. Unfortunately it seemed God's direction was for me to go home. I did. Which is crazy because I am a landlocked beach bunny and I live in Farmington, NM. NW corner of The Four Corners. We're at 5600 feet and surrounded by the Rockies on all sides. I miss the ocean so much. Grew up as a little tyke in Daytona. No access to fresh fish other than trout of all types, bass, catfish (the best I must say as our waters are very cold and the flesh is far more tasty and firm!) Pike and our salmon is unique blend of Kokanee and King. Found nowhere else. Amazing! Also crappie which is soooo yummy but it takes a couple hundred to feast on as their fillets are so tiny. Tons of work but so worth it! God bless you and yours and praise God for all your blessings....
14:00 Rob, Glad you got a chance to see some of the Naval ships and Aircraft out of Norfolk/VA Beach. You appreciate them and their service... but they definitely appreciate the support from proud Americans like you!
I watched your video today and loved it. I clicked like and subscribe not because of the content but because you showed honor in your country and I love patriotism. Thank you.

Robert, those appetizers you made with that beautiful looking ribbon/chrome fish meat looked so delicious😋. They reminded me of some taquitos with seafood, and I love me some Thai chili sauce. Well done Robert👏👏👏. Really enjoyed that one!!!
Thanks for including us in your video brother! Believe it or not, a lot of us Sailors actually fish off the fantail of those warships when we get a break in the action of carrying out normal duties or standing watch. A lot of Mahi, Tuna, and Wahoo have been caught off the flight decks and sterns of those ships and shared amongst crews! Thank you for continuously inspiring us, be it showcasing our backyard or giving us a way to decompress by watching your videos when we get home from long days onboard... thank you!
Hey Rob...my Dad and I love your show. And man how we wish we could go on a fishing trip with you. We appreciate how you are A man of faith and always thank God...because we do as well. It would be a moment of a lifetime for my Dad to get to meet and fish with you. Eat some of that delicious food and spend some time with a wholesome person such as yourself. God bless you and many wishes for the future.

So a few years ago, some AMAZING Vietnamese families taught me about ribbon fish. I was on the apache pier in Myrtle Beach, and they do an annual trip for these fish. It is a HUGE delicacy in their culture. They were pulling them in hand over fist! Introduced me to vodka beer in a can, the BEST instant noodles EVER! Such a great group of people! Spent two nights fishing with them! So great!
Lived in va beach for 6 years in the lynnhaven area when I was a kid moved back up north when I was about 12 beautiful spot still have some family down there always love to visit when I can

Many years ago, I was in the Navy. I was stationed at N.A.S. Pensacola from September, 1978 till I got out of the Navy in December, 1982. I was married then. Often, my wife and I would go fishing at the Lexington Pier. The Lexington was a World war II aircraft carrier. Anyway, we'd go fishing at the pier. Often we'd see ribbon fish that people had caught and just thrown on the ground. People said they were a trash fish and weren't good for eating. Then one day, our neighbor who lived in the apartment above us, invited us up for supper. He served ribbon fish. It was some of the best fish I have ever eaten and I love fish. I mean this fish was delicious. He told us if we ever caught any, bring it to him if we didn't want it. I never caught any but if I ever had, I would have kept it for myself. That fish is delicious. I don't know why people would throw them away. They are delicious. But it is a scary looking fish. It's got a head like a barracuda. I bet it could hurt you if it bit you. But it's good eating.
Hi All, that ribbon fish is probably the best bait for big king mackerels, slow trolled or on the drift, we have awesome success here in SA with them. The trick is getting them to swim properly on the troll.

I really want to meet you someday love your videos and content have learned a lot from you since living in Kansas we are land locked and don’t get to the Gulf or Ocean very much..........
You've brought back so many good memories of when I went fishing on the Chesapeake Bay almost 40 years ago. A friend of mine caught a 6 1/2 # Tautog! I caught Blues, Spots, Croaker's, and different kinds of bass. I too, am a proud American! 🇺🇸🙌
Hey Rob. For that amount (or a bit more) of sweet chili sauce, add a knob of ginger (a bit smaller than your thumb) that been VERY finely minced, and about 2-3 tsp of rice wine vinegar. Let it sit for a couple of hours before serving as a dipping sauce. It's insane, bro. Amazing flavor! 😊
Amazing video. I love when you show stuff you never eat before, i seen a video by outdoor chef life , one of chef hiros pals, where in japan they catch huge ribbon fish like up to 12 feet long. Proud to be American and proud to be a deer meat subscriber going on 5 years
Hi rob it's me from the last 2 vids This a REALLY cool fish another Amazing vid, as usual, u deserve way more than 2 mils I was doing a class after a quiz and I relaxed with watching u Thank you for making videos for all of us bye.
Just caught a few of these outside of OC MD. We weren't even targeting them. We were going for king and spanish mackerel, false albacore and bluefish but the water temperature was too low the week we were down and they were out way too far for the time we had booked. Just happened to hook onto these which surprised our captain. Rolled them up and beer battered them. They were delicious
Great recipe for the ribbonfish, Rob! Down here in Texas we call them Beltfish. We typically cut em into steaks and pan fry. Only a central bone down the middle so it's not a hassle to eat.
Hey, I appreciate you pointing out our Military! Thank you! If you want a little more like that in your home state, Destin area has the F-35 taking off daily. We are crushing Red Fish right now from the bay with the drop in water temp after Sally hit. Come on by.
Can we go crabbing can we please. Lol. Great video as always Rob. Ps my uncle was stationed at the Naval base. He was in WW2. He moved from NYC to Norfolk.
Hi Rob, hello from Belgium, we have those Ribbon fish in the south of Europe also. On the Island of Madeira they are the National dish! But there they are black !!! See you joh
That ribbon fish is an Asian delicacy. GREAT sashimi. In the fall between sept-dec you can catch those at night in orlando right near cape c. I used to go there and you would see a ton of asians fishing with GLOWSTICKS as bobbers and catching 100-200 given the right conditions.
I really enjoyed the clip of hairtail fishing with great silver color. His teeth look really scary. It was a very pleasant viewing. I caught the rest of the meat well. Like 👍
Hey Rob, in Puerto Rico we call it machete and we cut it in chunks about 2 inches and fried , super crispy and amazing flavor. Enjoy my brother!!! By the way we caught with cast net in about 6 to 10 feet of water.
Now I’m craving Chinese food. I love making homemade egg rolls and wontons. There are an endless number of things you can put in them. This is one that I will definitely try thank you for the new recipe.
Ribbonfish is a popular dish in Vietnamese culture. We love to eat the fish and a few years ago when the oil spill happened in the gulf, they were schooling like crazy in our coastal Florida Atlantic waters. Since then you barely will find any except being imported to Restaurant Depot. Nice video Rob!
Hi Rob! Alot of Filipinos are a huge fan of your YT chanel and your lovely Family, hope you could visit us here someday in the Philippines! take care & godbless!
@@deermeatfordinner yeah i've watched all your videos when you were there☺️ you must have to visit General santos City. It's a great place in the PH to catch Tuna and many more ☺️
Hi good night Robert. I am definitely going to be trying this out this weekend. In Trinidad we call them cutlass fish and they are really good. We hardly get any now though since there's a demand for them in China and our Fisher folks benefits more when they export them.

In Trinidad we call those cutlass fish, they're the best for frying ❤
nice
When I used to live in Trinidad I called em ribbon fish, we used em for big tarpon we would fish at and catch a lot of them
@@alertsparkz5423 that's cool, I didn't know they were good for tarpon bait I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks for the tip
That ribbon fish is an Asian delicacy. GREAT sashimi. In the fall between sept-dec you can catch those at night in orlando right near cape c. I used to go there and you would see a ton of asians fishing with GLOWSTICKS as bobbers and catching 100-200 given the right conditions.
the size Robert caught is easily a $40 fish in South Korea.
In Chinese supermarkets you can find these in abundance

Hi good night Robert. I am definitely going to be trying this out this weekend. In Trinidad we call them cutlass fish and they are really good. We hardly get any now though since there's a demand for them in China and our Fisher folks benefits more when they export them.
