Here's my lil experience - i am an Indian origin American living in NY from the last 30 years.. back in 1999 i went to Kashmir.. mf people were throwing stones at army and army was shouting at them😂 it was a hellhole.. recently after covid i got a chance to visit Uttarakhand because of a dear friend 's marriage ceremony.. we were talking about my last experience and he said "let's change your view".. I agreed.. after visiting gulmarg and other places, I just asked hey it's not India.. it's like a literary 180° change what india was back in 99. We came back.. last January me with my whole family visited kashmir for a 15 days tour.. india has changed in a incredible positive way.. i nowadays always recommend my colleagues to visit India.. we have many stereotypes to India but reality is India always suprises us😂❤ love India ❤ will visit maybe south or north east next year or maybe complete one of my oldest dream to celebrate Ganesh chaturthi or Durga Puja in mumbai or kolkata. Let's see what happens but if anyone have any doubts about safety or enjoyment, I will say just visit her.. India will make you smile

You get deep snow like this in JnK, Himachal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and very specific regions in Arunachal pradesh. There are well developed and accessible facilities and terrain like this in JnK, Uttaranchal and Himachal.

We tried to avoid those people but they ganged up on us and followed us everywhere and kept harassing us. Our taxi driver was also in on it and suggested us to use their services, guilt tripping us that they make very low wages and are poor people, etc. We finally gave in and it was a terrible decision. Your lucky and its also because the locals dont skii that much and its an elitist sport. But India has a tradition that any place that's worth its salt will be OVERCROWDED....with people, shops, just loiterers, shoddy food joints like torn tent sheds. Im not blaming them. Its a poor country and first the poverty line people will flood that area to make good on it. Your lucky this is inaccessible, needs solid hiking on foot, and apart from the view the locals dont know what to do there, so its empty. Most (80%) places in India, places like this are with ques, token tickets, stand in line, look around, ok come back. Like a school excursion. India and sparse crowd are a disparity and an anomaly rather than the norm. They exist like the places shown here. Even Ladakh you can enjoy with serene no crowds. But even there Pangong lake for example is like an exhibition fair.
