thanks for this review... iam also thwarted by my stature at 5'3" and have been a long time sufferer of getting clothes to fit especially when it comes to motorcycle gear.. the knee padding is always a problem never being taken into consideration by the manufacturers for us shorter people, its great to see a channel high lighting these problems. please keep up the good work and hopefully in time the message might get across. i feel like my search is at an end...blessed are the short ar**s...!
Thank you! Yes the knee pads are a right pain. I find the same on jackets with the elbows or shoulders. I often remove the shoulders as I find them in the way
@@pintsizedbiker I see the John Doe ones make a big deal about their sizing options so mibbes worth a try. Really like their green cargo trousers, very cool looking.
Thanks for the good review, I've been looking at these to replace my aging Draggins. Disappointed by how slack they looked for 'slim fit'. Do you mind me asking what waist size you ordered? Trying to gauge what it would be like for me as I guess you could I'm also arguably pint sized but at 6' 1" and 11st I'm more Peroni glass shape than best bitter. Comes with its own issues with gear!
Thanks for the comment. I ordered 34 waist as I tend to be between 32-34 with normal jeans though almost always wear 34. In hindsight I reckon they come up a bit big so 32 would probably of been ok. Though they would still be too long for me so never considered an exchange. The slack was the most disappointing part. I certainly wouldn’t call them slim fit. That said it was free return and they had the money back in my account within days so can’t fault Hood in that regard.
Totally agree, and I’m around 5’8” with a 32 inseam and a 32 inch waist, yet the jeans are much much bigger and as a slim fit it’s very very lose. Safety is great but I look like I’ve put on 10kg when I slip the jeans on.
Exactly. They did contact me to let me know that the 2023 jeans will have a slimmer fit, so maybe going forward they might be a bit more true to the slim fit tag
Hi. I bought a pair of sk11 AAA slim fit. I got a size w34 L32. I found I had to take them up by 30mm for them to be right for me. I'm 5ft 10" and 189lbs .. The waist is OK. As for the slim fit I found them to be perfect and not one bit baggie and I would not have "strong" legs. Overall I'm very happy with my hood jeans and find them more comfortable then my leathers.
Excellent! Good to hear. The quality is great. The company messaged me last week to say that next years range will be less baggy, it’s personal preference I guess but I wouldn’t say I have slim legs but they just didn’t fit comfortably for me, probably fine on the bike but to be fair but not for moving about etc. Pando moto for me I think when finances allow!
Great video,i’m the same height as you and bought the bowtex but after walking a short distance the knee armour was on my shin, which bowtex did you have?
Will have to check on the model I got but I have to confess I took the knee out for they very reason. I have since got with Motogirl Melissa jeans which fit brilliantly with armour in place
I would order the shortest available. I found them baggy yes, they did say at the time that 2023 model was going to be less baggy but I haven’t tried them
In really disappointed these are baggy when they are meant to be slim fit. Genuinely I was going to pull the trigger but I am not now, I hate baggy dad jeans. Can I ask what else did you opt for?
I know what you mean. I will say that Hood did contact me and say that the 2023 jeans were likely to be slimmer. And their returns process was easy so perhaps worth a try? I stuck with my bowtex for now. And through winter I have my bowtex and Frank Thomas leather jeans.
@@pintsizedbiker Hi, I may do, I'm just unsure whether to go for these or some John Doe Dylan Single lined ones. Have you tried single lined ones? I hear conflicting stories on which are the best
@@andrewdugdale7043 just had a quick look online, they certainly look slimmer. I don’t know much about their protection. Will have a read this evening. Could be a good option though
@@pintsizedbiker Out of curiosity if Hood SK11 jeans are now slimmer fitting how come you haven’t ordered any again as you said they where good quality, they can tailor the length to you perfectly?
From the video it looks like you’re wearing them on your hips, if you lifted them around your waist they wont be as long. I agree they look baggy for slim fit jeans.
Just a review advising others of similar height and size, especially as it’s tricky to find motorcycle clothing for those like us. Plus a tailor can’t fix how baggy they were easily and others have found it helpful considering they are advertised slim fit That said Hood are very helpful and told me their 2023 products have a tighter fit. Not tried them though Thanks for the comment!
Great video. Thanks for the informative content !
Hey thanks! I really appreciate that. Was my first bash at it, will do some more soon.

How has it been riding with these? Curious what weather temperature range you find these jeans comfortable in (not too cold, not too hot).

Can the knee armour position not be moved? I thought that's what the velcro strip was for.
You can’t adjust its location, the Velcro just keeps it in place in its pocket.. unless I’ve missed something
So if I wear a 30” inseam I should order 29”?
And the slim fit is still baggy?

Hi I am short as well try hear for all your gear JTS
They are supposed to be longer so that when you sit on your bike they are the right length.
I did try that but sadly still way too long for me. The new range I am told is less baggy. Will try them soon enough

Because in the winter I am happy with my leathers. Plus spent money on something else 😂
hood offer free alteration now so can get the right leg length according to their website.
This was their shortest option
@@pintsizedbiker yes but you can send them back and they will alter them foc, admittedly it won’t alter the baggy mess 👍

A good tailor will sort them out for ya 😉
Sent them back, got a different pair now that fit 😊
Just go to a Tailor, stop complaining and take control for ~10 pound
