I've also heard they treat their continued customers pretty well, something like 10GB per year added to your account I think along with other possible benefits.
ive tested so many cloud options the last 2 months or so and all of them annoyed me...then i tried filen and its been such a nice experience since then with their model. most free plan clouds are unusable to begin with with way to little storage or no privacy or no real apps or... mega for example i cant even sync because they put a transfer limit on you??? wtf mega... filen however, fixed basiclt all of the issues i previously had. the apps are really nice, i can set up multiple sync folders, set up how i want to sync them, with a referral link you re getting 20gb right out of the box for free with no limitations on it other than space compared to payed plans and... overall... i cant praise filen enough really, its a blast, it works, its affordable and the reddit seems to be pretty active with the devs being open and transparent and IF you re worried about security... i mean just encrypt your stuff before uploading it with cryptomator or something, not a big deal.
I use IDrive cheapest drive storage (around 8 US per month when paying yearly for 5 terabytes of storage) It allows you to set your own encryption key not sure if it’s open source but the have GDPR policy for privacy also they claim that it’s a one way encryption only the local data is decrypted on the system (so it’s end to end) they can’t see your encryption key they cannot look at your data if you set your own private key. Good to use for my less secure things that I want to host for example like backups and I use veracrypt and LUKS for my very important data (I run windows and Linux subsystems) either way pretty good review list.

Thanks to your review I just went with the 2 TB lifetime plan from Filen. Couldn't be happier!
Very nice! You should make video on lifetime plans. Icedrive, Filen and PCloud offer lifetime plans which are very enticing.
Proton drive is now open source👍🏻
It also doesn’t support 2 way sync which is plain lazy.

You know someone is serious when he has a spreadsheet. Good video!
Nice ive been looking for new cloud storage options for a while
well made! useful info packed neat and str8 to the point much appreciated!
Thanks for the review. Have u tried Internxt ? Encrypted and decentralised and passed an independent security audit.
Not a huge fan of decentralized services but I’ll check it out
Very useful list, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
@@TomSparkReviews Shame that Filen doesn't have video playback support, but otherwise really solid recommendation.
@@siphillis Its in the works according to the team
koofr and filen have been good for me so far
Why don't you have Tresorit and Spideroak One? Can you discuss them in a new video as an addendum to this video?
What's about tresorit? Any negatives?
Do you still recommend Filen?
Does filin have good security, like proton does?
Yes
Thanks bro finally i can use a good thing 🙂 💜
No problem 👍
