- In this video, I go over 15 tips and tricks for the DJI Action 2. Some of these tips can help new users get the most out of their new camera. At the end of the video, I also offer some battery-saving tips that can help stretch out the life of the battery on the DJI Action 2.

Hey, thanks for the video. Does the usb-c microphone work with the power combo too ? Or only the screen combo ?
great video man very well done i have 1 question when i have mine in the sim rig cage and have mounted sideways the video footage isn't wide it comes out 4:3 even though its set to 16:9 it just doesn't fill the screen on playback i thought it would record same sideways as it does upright do you have any idea's

Good video and tutorial
As far as I can see there is no speaker with the standard charging module and camera which I have, so your tip on the speaker icon and volume control only applies to the blogger module with front facing screen. Is this correct or do I have a faulty camera?
My additional tips would be :
Running just off the camera module alone, the camera gets very hot very quickly.
Running with a fully charged touch screen module ( and I would assume the same with the add on battery module as well ) - the camera gets hot not as fast.
Running off from a powerbank - it seems to get hot even less quickly.
Note I did not say it did not get as hot with the battery/touchscreen module attached or powering off a battery bank - I stated it gets hot less quickly..
This camera loves air movement to cool the camera.
Running in lower camera resolutions also slows down the heating process.
Some great tips thanks for sharing
How long does it take for it to get hot and start shutting off, I am interested but hearing that it gets up to the 90F and seen actually hot enough to melt cheese is off putting.

How do you set the file naming system to be continuous on the Action2? I tried but couldn't, it resets to zero after every transfer to the PC.

Thank You for your useful tips. One think that bothers me is that the the hundred or so videos on RUclips of this camera that I have ingested, no one talked about the fact that you could or not be charging the module and the camera itselfwith a power bank attached to the usb C port on the side of the camera, I like to think that you could, I consider this a deal breaker for me so I have not order the camera yet. Is it possible for you to check that it can be done or not????? I would really appreciate it.

hey just one question.. Is there a way to live preview my footage using the app ? When i’m mounting it and recording i just wanna make sure the angle & exposure are to my likings.
THere's no way to change the orientation of the recording to film vertically? Does it have to be tilted 90 degrees or mounted as such or can we keep it level and switch recording orientation? I don't see any way to mount it on a head strap to film vertically... thanks!

Bro, what can i do if i want to transfer my media from the internal memory to the SD card, but the export option do not appear?
The Snapshot loooong press and hold for quick recording is still what's stopping me from getting one. Two seconds is a long time to be one-handed on a mountain bike trail or motorcycle ride. Did they ever update this?
Toip 16 is exactly what I was looking for.... But remember with you screens off you can still always access the image thru the app.
With so any features why Insta360 Go2 is always rated above this, size matters but not that much over these many features. I am more confused now which one to choose, if someone can help me out to choose plz
If you are in snapshot how do you deactivate it. As soon as it takes the short it turns off.
how do you view video on phone screen, while recording i have a blank screen ?
I have a couple questions I seem to not be able to fine anywhere…
1. After using the camera body itself with internal battery, if you connect the battery mod, will that start charging the camera (transferring power like a power pack)???
2. Is there a quick power on and picture capture interval (like on GoPros, quick press will on & video capture, long press will start interval picture taking)???
To answer your first question, yes the power pack will keep the main unit at 100% or charge it when lower than that so you can connect it to charge it if you want to use the camera alone for your shots.
I'm gonna buy this camera for my vlogs. Will it be good ?
A lot of people are really enjoying it for vlogging. I may start blogging myself the spring for another channel and I am thinking about using the action 2

I have a question too. When I view my recordings on action 2 they are for ex 40 min long but od sd card there are 3 min clips. Is it possible to get full length?
Unfortunately no go pros are the same. It Hass to break the clips up into Smaller segments. However if you bring them into an editor and place them on a timeline they will be seamless

How long does it take to transfer 32gb to a computer? 20mins is a killer with such low space available.
Yes if you’re on board memory is completely full it can take upwards of 20 minutes. Now with the latest firmware they have increased the speed a bit but I haven’t fully tested it yet
Timestamps with titles for each tips would be useful in this video. Particular as this camera has been out for a while and most users of this camera would have spotted most of these

I don’t know if I really would recommend this one over the GoPro. They’re both decent cameras and both have pros and cons. I think generally the GoPro is a more well-rounded camera and easier to use. The action who is nice but it does have some limiting factors. Couple weeks ago I uploaded a 30 day review of the action to perhaps watch it as it goes into more detail about it. You may find it interesting

I want to record in 9:16 ratio could you guide me to do it? Without cropping the fottage.
Basically, you just have to flip the camera on its side. The only problem is, there’s not a convenient way to mount it out of the box. You will have to order a third-party frame. That has a mount on the side. So you can film vertically

OK these are drastically reduced where I live, issue is I have read you can only record 5 mins with 4K 60 before over heating?
What's the point then if true?
I want this specifically for my RC toys, 4K 120 is what I want for some slo mo goodness, this would mean I have almost no recording time because of heat?
4K60 I’m able to get about 18 to 20 minutes I believe. That was just having it set up on the desk. If you have it on an RC it will stay cool but yeah 4K 120 it will overheat very quickly.

I’m not quite sure what you mean by that? But yes if you have one of the battery bases attached it will charge everything

I heard another say to charge up the battery module only, then attach the camera later to then charge it.
So I'm asking if you can charge the Camera module attached to the battery/screen module, at once, instead?
That’s exactly how I do it I have the battery module attached and plug it in. There are no issues at all doing it that way, in fact that’s how DJI intended it. Similar to how you can plug it into external power and use it it will be constantly feeding power to both units. Hope that helps

I've only just got it, but I'm missing the pendant and go pro mount.
However it looks like I can use the pivot mount on a tripod?
The other thing is the file sizes seem quite large. Can you adjust the bitrate?

DJI Action 2 will be over heated and shut down after 4 minutes, when record 4K 120fp, take a while for camera to back to work, gopro 10 can take 4k 240fp without a problem.

DJI dropped the ball completely on this one.

It is indeed different than the original Osmo and does have some limitations. But it is actually a pretty good camera for many scenarios. For many people a full-fledged Action Camera still a better choice, but with the recent firmware updates this camera has gotten quite a bit better
@@AirPhotography I just sold the osmo action and got the action 2 for 350. Very happy with it. Primarily the FOV is so much better for my motorcycle riding and videos and transfer of RAW photos to my phone through Mimo 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

My tip would be don’t buy one, overheats & battery life is poor. If using a memory card & it gets full it turns off when it could if programmed properly switch to internal memory. If it’s raining then you can’t add the battery module & clips will be shorter. Luckily it will be used for short rides on my bike lasting around 20 minutes, my old Kaiser Baas cameras are far cheaper & better.

this product is not getting warmer it's overheating !
And it can only work if it's -C
other than that it's unusable if you want the full potential, for the price you're paying it's a big big fail for DJI !
I understand what you’re saying in fact I did go over all the limitations of it in my review that I uploaded several weeks ago. This video was not really a review but just a tips video for those who have purchased it
