I'm always a bit surprised how these older boats hold their value, I mean yes they are looked after but they are basically a big car on water. A car that cost £20k new 14 years later even with low mileage will be £1k so I would expect a yaght to be the same depreciation as they age just the same. But I don't expect this Sunseeker to have been £4.7 million 😄 why do people still pay so much?
@@nothingsurprisesmeanymore It's because it's been built by a quality company and it's been maintained perfectly. This boat still would have devalued , but you can tell it's been built to a high standard of care.
Comparing this boat to a Volkswagon Golf doesn't make sense, instead compare it to something like a '06 Ferrari F430. Brand new in the UK it was about 120k pounds, 14 years later the best maintained models are still selling for around 100k.
You are right about the nice prize!! This good size yacht looks great.
This is exactly what i would like to have. Managable by my self, goes through canals but still perfect for a long weekend trip with 4 adults. And in a price range that is obtainable.

Excellent! For a boat that age it’s been really well looked after! The cabin is stunning. Sound quality is great, need a few more videos to properly gauge it though. I know you’ve all been let out of your boxes over there but it’s still not gone away. Continue to stay safe Nick!

A lot of boat for the money right there! I definitely prefer the smaller sports or weekend style boats, the larger yachts seem to give up a lot of the outside feel to gain lots of cabin/saloon space. I much prefer to be out in the sun, ice cold beer and maybe a few fishing rods out, with a small cabin to sleep in. This one is looking near perfect!

sidenote, what an immaculate boat for 14 years old! I've seen boats half that age in much worse shape than this one, clearly someone's pride and joy that's been given all the love in the world

Hmmm. Seems okay value. The channel hasn't really spoken about depreciation. We all know if we buy a new Jag it will be worth half in 3 or 4years time, but what about boat brands? Do they vary like with car brands?

Microphone works a treat. Love the styling of this boat, it looks like it's going places even when it's moored. Two bathrooms on a boat this size is a plus and it's superb condition. Want one, can't afford one, yet

This is a pretty tempting boat. You could have a great time harbour-hopping your way around the UK, and at that size you could make it quite a distance inshore on the rivers & canals. I know a good little dock in Leeds with a fab curry house and moorings just the right size for this sort of boat.
Agree, my boats have always been steel Dutch cruisers when I lived on the Frisian lakes, but now I'm in the UK (and have been for over a decade) and regaining interest in having a boat to get away from the mundane, a boat like this is definitely tempting! I know a nice little dock in Sheffield... ;)
Ben Mountford depending if you’re a curios engineer as myself and would maintain/service as much as possible myself or take a lesson or two on how to, to cut cost.
Dr Clumber I’ve owned a narrowboat for years - it’s definitely worth it! Much cheaper to run than “lumpy water” boats...
I’ve also tried to persuade Nick to review a narrowboat - but not convinced him yet.
@Ben Mountford This won't be a cheap boat to run, but it is not going to cost anywhere near as much as you state here.
We used to run our Grouwster Vlet (appr. 10 mtr) for under €3000 a year. Obviously a coastal vessel will be more expensive - but then this is Poly and not steel, so painting costs aren't part of the picture. I reckon if you spend more than 10K a year (plus diesel) on this boat you are being mugged. Be interesting if Nick could do an episode on this! @Aquaholic

This is a cracking boat, a good friend of mine had the exact same boat as this, and it was great, we had many hours of fun in it, interestingly he sold it just before the 2008 recession, I remember that he amazingly lost very little in depreciation, also the build quality was outstanding. Fantastic memories came flooding back, and that folding table worked a treat.

I would greatly enjoy a video, or a series of videos focused on how to evaluate a boat. What should you look for when buying a new or a used boat. Things to avoid, "defects" that are easily repaired. That sort of thing. Love your videos so far!

Nice boat, just the right size for weekends as owner operator. Foldaway cockpit table is a big hit for me too. In great condition for its age, and not badly priced either.

A nice boat and review. The heater tip is a good one. I left my house for a week one cold February with no heating at all. That was a big mistake.

Tbh, I liked the sound that came from the go pro in all you other videos, it adds to the immersion, and makes it feel more raw and uneditted. Here it sounds like sound was added later so it feels less like a blog

Aquaholics Upgrades !! Kewl ! Satin wood looks better than glossy. The sunseeker maintenance chart is very nice. The oil filled heaters / Dehumidifier are great and very safe. tells you a lot about the current owner. The floors do not SQUEAK !!! Nice boat for the price.
