"Sing" is a great song, to be sure. But the whole video should be for "Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back". The two songs both have "Na na na na na" in it which links the two songs (this and Na Na Na Na Na, obviously) that are happening in the video, there is talk of a firefight. Poison realized the Dracs weren't just mindless zombies once he pulled off the mask, they were humans. Real people, brainwashed by BL/ind. And that realization cost him his life, once Corse shot him. Which Kobra died for Poison, willingly giving himself up to kill the man that killed his brother. Jet and Ghoul took The Girl and Ghoul locked himself inside while Jet and The Girl made a run for it. Ghoul sacrificed himself to ensure the Dracs wouldn't reach The Girl, sacrificing his life to save another. And lastly Jet died trying to help The Girl reach Dr. Death Defying and the rest of the killjoys's van. What's sad about it is Ghoul could of just went with Jet and The Girl, giving him a small chance of making it out alive. But after witnessing Kobra and Poison's deaths he decided that he was to make sure the Dracs had a harder time reaching The Girl before she made it into the van. He sealed his own fate by closing the door, knowing full well he wasn't going to make it out alive. But in his heart he knew in doing this The Girl would make it out alive. He loved Poison and Kobra as his own brothers, and he knew how dear The Girl was to them. And he made it his final mission to make sure The Girl would make it out of this alive, even if he himself didn't. Jet had to watch all of his friends die in front of him and made it his duty to help The Girl escape. Jet, after seeing his friends die, knew very well he probably wasn't going to make it out alive either. But he didn't stop, and decided to seal his fate the moment he turned around to shoot back at the Dracs and block any bullets from hitting The Girl. And he died because of his own decision. It really shows how closely knit the group is. I know a lot of people won't read this, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I just noticed Party Poison stopped fighting when he pulled the mask off of that vampire and it was a person underneath. That’s the reason they all died… I think he thought they were all androids… but when he realized they were human, he couldn’t kill them anymore
I think the og story was that everyone in masks were old resistance fighters that were "killed" and brainwashed, thats why Party Poison was shocked. And when the were bagged and taken, they were being sent to be brainwashed but they never made more story videos for the album.
There are so many things in this video that make me cry. One is all the guy's faces when they are driving in the tunnel, they know what their goal is and that they will save the girl no matter what. The next thing is Gee's face when he hugs the girl, he should look relieved or even happy, but he looks scared. I think that they knew there was little to no way they were all going to make it out there alive and that prospect is why he looks so scared. Then when they are fighting and Mikey and Gee are back to back, Mikey is smaller than Gee even though Mikey is taller. That just shows me how Mikey is so afraid he will make himself smaller because he needs to be in the protection of his older brother, and Gerard loves Mikey so much he stands straight up to protect him, putting himself between his brother and the danger. After Gerard kills and demasks the one BL/ind worker, he looks tired, he looks like he knows that this is the end for him, when he gets put up against the wall he does not fight or scream, he welcomed death. And Finally, when Frank was at the door, able to run out, but to protect Ray and the girl, he closed himself in with the danger. He knew he was gonna die when he did this but knew it would help Ray and the girl escape and did it anyways. What a video!
I forgot to add this, but also at the end where Party Poison no longer has long red hair, it is cut short and brown. This is probably because BL/ind was trying to get him to conform to their standards, even in death, they just wanted a win over him. This also makes me think they did the same thing to Mikey as he also had long dyed hair.
I think I read in some comment that the guy in the mask was either Gerard's real-life friend or used to be a Killjoy who died and got turned into a mask guy. If that's true that would also explain why they kept Gerard's body.
I can’t take this video. Once Scarecrow takes hold of Gerard, it looks like Gerard doesn’t even care at this point. He just wants to know if the child will be safe. When he’s dead, Mikey acts like everything’s gone, which is heart wrenching to think about how just 5 years prior, Gerard had to watch Mikey die nearly the same way. Then when Mikey dies, Frank and Ray _have_ to keep the girl safe. No matter what. She meant so much to Gerard, and Gerard meant so much to Mikey. Frank decides to give up himself in order to ensure that the girl will be safe. He knows it would have been what Party Poison would’ve wanted. Ray tries his best, the last of the Killjoys, but he knows it’s all for nothing. But he dies with dignity.

EXACTLY. It is one of the only fandoms I have seen and that I am apart of that doesn't rip out the guts of new comers who may not understand. It is amazing and I love it.
I was really happy about that because I just started listening to MCR about two-three months ago and was really confused about most of the stuff I read and watched. With most fandoms I join I get pretty much yelled at about everything.
The girl screaming helplessly, eyes shut and ears covered, while the world grows ever more chaotic and intense around here and the people trying to save her are dropping dead is entirely too relatable.
I would like to point out Gerard has red hair and a yellow gun, Mikey has yellow hair and a red gun. Idk if this means anything or not, just seemed cool.
I love how in The Ghost Of You Mikey dies and Gerard wants to save him and in this one just before Gee gets shot, the camera shows Mikey trying to save him, but they can't save each other.
The saddest thing i find about this video is that at the end, when they put Gee into the bodybag, you can see his hair is cut short and has been dyed brown. They stripped him of his individuality because that is what made them scared of killjoys. B/L Ind. is scared of the killjoys because they are all different and unique in their very own ways, unlke the dracs or anyone else. Individuality is what scares people, your difference from them scares them.
I'm still waiting for someone to make "The Black Parade" a rock opera, I mean why American Idiot (not trying to rip on that it was a good idea) and not that album. It;s a great story that could tie together really well on stage.
Even after 12 years, this is still the best song ever!! I'm so proud of Gerard, Mikey, Frank, and Ray for making me who I am today. I'm so glad that they've recovered and are much better now. MCR is my life!!!

Think about this. Everyone dies in the video this indicates the end of MCR but the girl left living is the Killjoys, us left alone. The line Keep Running is telling the Killjoys to go on and never forget. But think about this. FOB left, broke up. Patrick made his own album and after that FOB got back together. Gerard is making his own album.
Patrick has also mentioned how challenging it is to be in a band with 3 other guys who could mastermind a band on their own. (Joe & Andy did TDT// Joe did a killer psychedelic album w/ JNewton too). MCR had that same talent spread and, if they never reunite, have a hell of a legacy and will spawn remarkable bands. I think FOB is still building/defending their story because they dropped HC vox and delved (TTYG/FUCT) into the foul millennial trap that is "Joe Strummer with allergies" punk. MCR was just a tad older and never tried that nasal vocal tripe so critics who don't know punk back to front thought they were crazy stuff from Ziggy Starship's mailing list. XD

I’ve been thinking about this song a lot lately. Gerard was the same age when it came out as I am now and it’s crazy that it’s more relevant than ever, but it also makes the music video make more sense to me than ever. We might not win, but it’s a constant fight and all that matters is that we protect and pass on a good message to the next generation. They’ll continue the fight even when we can’t any longer.

This girl in my band class likes mcr, we were talking about their music videos and we were playing them on low volume so the teacher wouldn't hear us. Hope you guys notice two things about this video which mean something: 1) Ever notice how Party Poison holds on to the kid and looks like he is looking off into space? That is because he is remembering the reason he is fighting for. He came to protect HIM. He knew he was going to die and have to sacrifice himself for him and he wanted to cherish the last moment he would have. 2) After Party Poison died, is hair turned short and black at the end of video. Not long and red like he was at the end of the video. 3) Fun Ghoul and Party Poison died the most heroic deaths. The face that Party Poison made in his final seconds of life, was saying that he knew he was going to have to sacrifice for that kid. And he accepted his fact. this is so cute how Gerard treats the girl, its like she's representing bandit how Gerard will do anything for her including risking his life. also when they hugged omg it was so cute
Poison realized the Dracs weren't just mindless zombies once he pulled off the mask, they were humans. Real people, brainwashed by BL/ind. And that realization cost him his life, once Corse shot him. Which Kobra died for Poison, willingly giving himself up to kill the man that killed his brother. Jet and Ghoul took The Girl and Ghoul locked himself inside while Jet and The Girl made a run for it. Ghoul sacrificed himself to ensure the Dracs wouldn't reach The Girl, sacrificing his life to save another. And lastly Jet died trying to help The Girl reach Dr. Death Defying and the rest of the killjoys's van.
What's sad about it is Ghoul could of just went with Jet and The Girl, giving him a small chance of making it out alive. But after witnessing Kobra and Poison's deaths he decided that he was to make sure the Dracs had a harder time reaching The Girl before she made it into the van. He sealed his own fate by closing the door, knowing full well he wasn't going to make it out alive. But in his heart he knew in doing this The Girl would make it out alive. He loved Poison and Kobra as his own brothers, and he knew how dear The Girl was to them. And he made it his final mission to make sure The Girl would make it out of this alive, even if he himself didn't.
Jet had to watch all of his friends die in front of him and made it his duty to help The Girl escape. Jet, after seeing his friends die, knew very well he probably wasn't going to make it out alive either. But he didn't stop, and decided to seal his fate the moment he turned around to shoot back at the Dracs and block any bullets from hitting The Girl. And he died because of his own decision. It really shows how closely knit the group is.
I know a lot of people won't read this, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I just noticed Party Poison stopped fighting when he pulled the mask off of that vampire and it was a person underneath. That’s the reason they all died… I think he thought they were all androids… but when he realized they were human, he couldn’t kill them anymore
I think the og story was that everyone in masks were old resistance fighters that were "killed" and brainwashed, thats why Party Poison was shocked. And when the were bagged and taken, they were being sent to be brainwashed but they never made more story videos for the album.

There are so many things in this video that make me cry. One is all the guy's faces when they are driving in the tunnel, they know what their goal is and that they will save the girl no matter what. The next thing is Gee's face when he hugs the girl, he should look relieved or even happy, but he looks scared. I think that they knew there was little to no way they were all going to make it out there alive and that prospect is why he looks so scared. Then when they are fighting and Mikey and Gee are back to back, Mikey is smaller than Gee even though Mikey is taller. That just shows me how Mikey is so afraid he will make himself smaller because he needs to be in the protection of his older brother, and Gerard loves Mikey so much he stands straight up to protect him, putting himself between his brother and the danger. After Gerard kills and demasks the one BL/ind worker, he looks tired, he looks like he knows that this is the end for him, when he gets put up against the wall he does not fight or scream, he welcomed death. And Finally, when Frank was at the door, able to run out, but to protect Ray and the girl, he closed himself in with the danger. He knew he was gonna die when he did this but knew it would help Ray and the girl escape and did it anyways. What a video!
I forgot to add this, but also at the end where Party Poison no longer has long red hair, it is cut short and brown. This is probably because BL/ind was trying to get him to conform to their standards, even in death, they just wanted a win over him. This also makes me think they did the same thing to Mikey as he also had long dyed hair.

I think I read in some comment that the guy in the mask was either Gerard's real-life friend or used to be a Killjoy who died and got turned into a mask guy. If that's true that would also explain why they kept Gerard's body.
I can’t take this video. Once Scarecrow takes hold of Gerard, it looks like Gerard doesn’t even care at this point. He just wants to know if the child will be safe. When he’s dead, Mikey acts like everything’s gone, which is heart wrenching to think about how just 5 years prior, Gerard had to watch Mikey die nearly the same way. Then when Mikey dies, Frank and Ray _have_ to keep the girl safe. No matter what. She meant so much to Gerard, and Gerard meant so much to Mikey. Frank decides to give up himself in order to ensure that the girl will be safe. He knows it would have been what Party Poison would’ve wanted. Ray tries his best, the last of the Killjoys, but he knows it’s all for nothing. But he dies with dignity.

Think about this. Everyone dies in the video this indicates the end of MCR but the girl left living is the Killjoys, us left alone. The line Keep Running is telling the Killjoys to go on and never forget. But think about this. FOB left, broke up. Patrick made his own album and after that FOB got back together. Gerard is making his own album.

Patrick has also mentioned how challenging it is to be in a band with 3 other guys who could mastermind a band on their own. (Joe & Andy did TDT// Joe did a killer psychedelic album w/ JNewton too). MCR had that same talent spread and, if they never reunite, have a hell of a legacy and will spawn remarkable bands.
I think FOB is still building/defending their story because they dropped HC vox and delved (TTYG/FUCT) into the foul millennial trap that is "Joe Strummer with allergies" punk. MCR was just a tad older and never tried that nasal vocal tripe so critics who don't know punk back to front thought they were crazy stuff from Ziggy Starship's mailing list. XD

Gerard was the same age when it came out as I am now and it’s crazy that it’s more relevant than ever, but it also makes the music video make more sense to me than ever. We might not win, but it’s a constant fight and all that matters is that we protect and pass on a good message to the next generation. They’ll continue the fight even when we can’t any longer.

This girl in my band class likes mcr, we were talking about their music videos and we were playing them on low volume so the teacher wouldn't hear us. She hadn't seen the sing video (or even knew it existed) since she doesn't go on youtube much. She was talking about how she wished they made more danger days videos besides na na na because she wanted to know what happened to the girl. I pulled up sing for her and watched her reaction. She no joke started bawling in the middle of class and had to go to the bathroom to calm down.

Hope you guys notice two things about this video which mean something:
1) Ever notice how Party Poison holds on to the kid and looks like he is looking off into space? That is because he is remembering the reason he is fighting for. He came to protect HIM. He knew he was going to die and have to sacrifice himself for him and he wanted to cherish the last moment he would have.
2) After Party Poison died, is hair turned short and black at the end of video. Not long and red like he was at the end of the video.
3) Fun Ghoul and Party Poison died the most heroic deaths. The face that Party Poison made in his final seconds of life, was saying that he knew he was going to have to sacrifice for that kid. And he accepted his fact. Fun Ghoul did the same by staying behind because he knew that the kid would be safer if he stayed behind.
