Despite my affection for my Hawke and Inquisitor characters, I still always felt like the central theme of my Dragon Age experience was my Warden and his relationship with Morrigan. I was glad DA3 brought a lot of answers to questions left after the Witch Hunt DLC, and very pleased to know the two of them stayed together, clearly deeply in love, and raised their child together. Morrigan, despite being quite intelligent and shrewd, was a newb when it came to romance, and probably needed some time to believe that being vulnerable and exposed to another person was worth the risk. *** SPOILERS *** I'm glad I didn't perform the God ritual with her though. They seem better bonded over a human child with a normal soul. I allowed her to drink from the Well of Sorrows though. Despite not wanting to "screw her up", I felt like it was her dream, and couldn't bring myself to deny her that, even if it might make things difficult in the next game.
Cryofax Well written critique, thanks. I have to agree on the romance options, despite not playing a male char--ever, for obvious reasons. Even the fem Warden/nobel storyline was .... meh. You got a small cutscene with Alistair (if king) in Awakenings and a tiny mention in DA2, unless you modded the PC version of the game with the user-created wedding scenes.Although I do have to say, I enjoy the quip Alistair makes to Teagan about "she does have a name, you know" if you played a fem mage Warden w/romance as he speaks to Hawke. Actually, I have a deep hatred of Morrigan and Flemmeth and their b.s. Their sense of superiority and entitlement based on Flemmeth's betrayal when she sold herself to the king, who killed her husband (she was supposedly in love with . . . . because uhm yeah, sure) internalized within Flemmeth and became toxic, thus making her *exactly* like all the 'men with darkness in their hearts' (paraphrased from DAO) and handing that toxicity down to Morrigan. I would have been thrilled to either have dismissed her in DAO or to have punched her in DAI. ....Though finding out she's now indentured to Flemmeth is quite hilarious and a well deserved ending toward her b.s. (Naturally, I'm talking about a Perfect World State load.) I have to say though, for a really hard hitting storyline, I still think DA2 had it beat. For a personalized RPG, that one had the story to wrench your gut. Almost everything your Warden and Inquisitor experiences is based on how it impacts Thedas---so second hand, non-personal (outside of the Haven destruction and finding of Skyhold). Hawke's storyline though was right there in your face as an RPG. I think it was one of the best testaments to the skill of Bioware's fantasy titles since Baldur's Gate 2:......I can't see that far to my gaming bookcase. The PS2 version, not the PC version with Shadows of Amn and ...the other expansion. But then, Black Isle, was also known for their hard-hitting storylines and became (for a time) one of the standards in video gaming RPG titles. I do have to say that I think BioWare crapped out on the Black Emporium with DAI. What do you think?
Rilriia Kilurden I actually haven't played the DA2 DLC so I can't comment on Black Emprium. I do agree however that DA2 had some nice things going for it. I know it's the "red headed stepchild" of the series but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Since I was under the impression ahead of time it was a "bad" game from all the word of mouth, I made a hot blonde female character who was a bitch to everyone lol. "Dad's dead? Get over it! Guards, better haul my sister away!". Ended up having a great time with it.
Cryofax I feel you on that one. The Hawke romance options weren't terribly ducky if you're playing a hetero/femme/mage Hawke. But other than that, I think it has the most personalized storyline of the DA games. You feel what happens to Hawke as they go through the game. The loss of a sister, then the brutal murder/res/re-death of her mutilated mother. The UI wsn't bad, and I think the roaming ability felt slightly more free than DA:O, but I did notice that's when BioWare started dumbing the series down for newb gamers. (I'm an old school rpg'er from the early PC D&D games, so I like detailed char options... DA:I sucked for that.) One thing I do have to say though, is I loved having Anders, Fenris, and even Aveline bicker with Meredith. That was awesomesauce in a freggin' cup! I don't remember exactly what they said when they were spatting, but it was pretty funny. I think (don't quote me) the Black Emporium is a free DLC for PS3. Not sure what it might be for other platforms, but the guy who runs it is as funny with his cracks on templar bloody smear stains taking weeks to clean, or telling you not to fondle the Andraste statue. Very well worth the d/l time.

This is the real DA canon for me, the Flemeth-Morrigan-Warden triangle and its relationship with Corypheus, the Old Gods, the Grey Wardens and the Blight. DAII was sure a pretty good game with a good prequel DLC to Inquisition (Legacy), but it has not the narrative power of Origins. If only we could have a DA game where we played as our Warden investigating the Call and having a final family reunion with Morrigan... Dragon Age: the Calling, would buy the fuck out of it
I am not actually sure I want that to happen, though. They would have to voice the Hero Of Ferelden, after all. And whoever they chose, they will not fit to my headcanon. Dunno about you lads & lasses, but I always felt like you played *as* Hawke and the Inquisitor - while the Hero was *truly* the player's avatar.
I might be alone with this, but I don't think Dragon Age is a franchise for true happy endings. And that's what I love, it's a grim world where every peace of happiness comes with a dark price

Yeah I figured out I picked the wrong one with leliana in my first play through under her seemingly sweet personality she was actually an evil sociopath and Morrigan was actually the nice one I did not expect that.
This would have been the perfect time to have Leliana and Morrigan talk. It's shameful that they didn't even have one scene together. The only mention of them having known anyone was a throwaway line in the Winter Palace, Leliana mentioning that she has "worked with her before".
That's not quite correct. They argue in the War Room after the well of Sorrows if the inquisitor drinks. Also you can ask Leliana about Morrigan and she will tell you that she used to say vile things just to hurt people, but she has changed. Leliana says that this may be due to Kieran. Morrigan will also briefly comment on her and the impressive spy network she has built. She even calls her "Leliana" instead of "the girl".
I was surprised when I got this scene. My dude did Romance Morrigan, but then Romanced Leliana and agreed to Morrigan's ritual. So Leliana talked like they were in love, Morrigan didn't, but then Morrigan talked about those letters that would make Leliana blush with "My Warden"?

From what I remember, I once overdid the item dupe for both Attribute and skill potion that not only is the Warden Cunning but also indimidating and persuasive while having all stats based at 80. I don't think even Flemeth + Archdemon stands a chance.
OroborusFMA i gave duncan's sword to alistar... also that busted axe you get in the adraste's urn section to sten(the qunari) or that staff to a merchant in the camp with the enchantment guy
Seriously, the Warden has multiple weapons and Armor sets that are of ancient legends. We honestly didn’t even need some of them during the game. Why he being cheep?
It's why i would do in that situaition too, lol. The Hero of Ferelden is supposed to be a full on avatar for the player after all, much more than Hawke and the Inquisitor. I mean, if it were me playing as The Warden in the middle of a vitally important quest, and got asked by letter to send help to some inquisition fighting demons that i never heard about, my HoF would send them that random belt as well, and probably just to free some space in his invertory.
It would be great if they made this quest to remove the calling the subject of the next game, but I am guessing the Warden won't every be a player-character again.
I was SO mad at my Warden when I found out that he left on a quest with an unlikely guarantee of success. I mean, I get that he had good intentions and wants to spend a long life with Morrigan and Kieran, but by leaving he's wasting what precious time he DOES have left with him. I taught you better than this, Alim! Bad elf! Bad!
Tbh, I think he is actually doing better things probably than stopping a random mage that is impulsive. He already killed the Architect and I bet he is on track of the other ones, maybe even searching for the tainted city itself to find how Blight was created etc. You dont know what he's up to.
My warden died fighting the archdemon :(. Had a child with morrigan. Met the kid. asked morrigan about my previous warden and she spoke about him in a much sadder tone about him. Though she never outright calls him the hero of ferelden
+Mark Cartson how you have a human baby is you don't do the dark ritual with morrigan but still sleep with her that night. So she becomes pregnant with the wardens child but the baby isn't possessed by the old God soul
Morrigan should be in your party to fight Archdemon if you wanted him to be alive. Then Morrigan would have the old god's soul going to the child. Warden will die if you didn't bring Morrigan in party
panzlithium not true if you did the ritual it will happen bringing her or not but you can still have a child as long as you slept with her in general and don't say I'm wrong I've got 300 hours+ on DAO (may sound sad but the game came out sooooo long ago)
Yes if Warden slept with Morrigan, she will have the child, whether with old god soul and warden alive, and normal child but warden will die when Morrigan isn't in your party on last fight.
Morrigan and The Warden having a child and remaining together is what I personally consider to be the canon plot of the games. Of course the games can have different outcomes, with different stories.. but it just seems sensible to me given how crucial Morrigan and her mother, Flemeth, is to the plot development. I fancied her from the beginning personally. Her attitude, her behaviour, her snarky comments. Some would call her a bitch, but I had a sensation of her being more than that, so I pursued her as my first (and only, in every playtrough) love option. I was pleased to see in the DLC Witch Hunt that we could follow her. It was a sensible option as The Warden was no longer needed to stay around and he had, in theory, fulfilled his destiny and task; Killing an Archdemon. There would be no (theoretically) Blights to come for generations. Even more so was I pleased to get to see my dear Morrigan again in Dragon Age; Inquisition. As "bad" of a game as people try to make it out to be, I quite enjoyed it myself. Even moreso because she referenced my Warden in a manner she'd never have done before. She went from a tantalising woman to a downright loveable one. THAT is how you make a strong female character that doesn't feel shoehorned in. No need to make them masculine.
She's a less bitchy more likeable yennifer. While yen is proud she uses geralt and treats him like a dog, morrigan quickly treats you like a person, and her face shows regret every time she does use you.

I wish she didn't address him as the Hero Of Ferelden all the time. In Origins depending on your race and your backstory you always had an different Surname. Why isn't she addressing him as that? To save money on voice acting?
SuperTiberian I think it's more for the Inquisitor's sake than her own. His name alone isn't necessarily recognizable, whereas referring to him by his title is something anyone will understand. Plus I think it's weird to refer to your husband by his surname. Granted, lover in DA2 calls Hawke by their surname, but all of the DA2 companions are especially weird like that.

Ah yes, a throwback to the only DA game that ever mattered. I'm not usually on the whole "First was the best" bandwagon, but it's definitely the case with Dragon Age. Honestly, "Awakening" should have been DA2 and "Witch Hunt" DA3.
There's a glitch in the game for Consoles but for the PC players, they can read an extent from the HOF regarding Morrigan. Too bad I play it on PS4 so I didn't get to read it in my game but checked it out in another youtube video.
I really hope there are 2 more games left in the DA series. One set in the Anderfels dealing with this brewing Warden civil war and the Darkspawn threat, the calling issues and possibly finding out more about the titans and Solas' connection to them. I don't want these issues to become sidelined. The second game would be about Tevinter, the Qunari, and dealing with Solas and the fade.
but in the next DA games i want to play as my warden and team up with my hawk. I don`t want to create a new character i have created enough in this world. Think about it your group is your warden from DA,O and the group members are your love interest for the warden, your hawk, the love interest of your hawk in DA 2, if you want to then put your inquisitor with there love too in the group but i think that would be imposible because the inqiuisition is to big to be. maybee you can join them in the end but i think from the begining that would make no sense. That can be the best game in DA history ( if they don`t fuck the story up ) because at the begining of the game you only chose what is the character that you want to play, your warden from DA,O, or your hawk from DA2. The 2 of them of must have there own storys and desitions they must make in the game but this would be a dream team the best from the best.
Reversing Tranquility has already been hinted in Dragon age 2 when Anders lose control and his friend regains emotion for a few minutes, it would be great to have something like that, I hate tranquility

Avernus did use a form of blood magic yet at the same time it wasn't blood magic. It didn't cure him but whatever he did made him live a long time. Fiona is different, I don't think she's a blood Mage...but if you learn about who she is and who she is related to, it's like ohhhh wow moment. I don't know if you know so I don't want to spoil it
But Fiona was completely cured from the taint, so she isn't dealing with the calling and can die of old age. Hence her not being with the grey wardens anymore

I romanced her, did the ritual but I didnt go thru the Eluvian tho. I still got an option to find my Warden & it reveals he is searching for a cure for the Calling but Morrrigan seems over my Warden. I guess 10years will do that.
Ugh, I hate the Calling plot point and how big a deal is made about it. Most wardens are probably recruited in their early twenties or thirties, and the Calling starts affecting you after 30 years or so. That means 50-60 years of living as a professional warrior in a medieval fantasy setting before it becomes a problem. Which is ridiculous. Any warden not squirreled away in headquarters for their career is ten times more likely to die in battle or of some other complication than ever make it to that age in the first place.
Its not actually "cannon". But DA:I lets you determine key points from the previous game in the dragon age keep. One of those options is to chose who was the wardens romance and if you actually helped in her ritual or not. But of course, what is and isn't "cannon" is a rather flexible thing in the games, since you always had a choice in the world settings of later games and Origins itself is just an offer of multiple possible "cannons". The choice which origin you want to play is actually already the first decision to set the story on its path. All other "potential" warden characters seem to exist too, but your choice of who to play kills all the other alternatives. Its more like a multiverse, where the story can be shaped however you like.

God it would have been so good of us to find that out in DAO. Imagine a DLC where we found out the truth and now we had to defend Alistair’s claim against people who believe a half-elf shouldn’t be on the throne.

As far as I remember I exhausted all conversation options with Morrigan and this wasn't mentioned and the war table mission didn't bring anything relevant either... just that the hero sent some items and a letter... a letter which I couldn't read (is there such an option and I just didn't find it?)...

Yeah but the Inquisitor wouldn't necessarily know him by that name. But they sure as hell know the Hero of Ferelden, who singlehandledly stopped a Blight and is the only Grey Warden to (potentially) survive killing an Archdemon
+trungmi102 It's still the Warden's even if you don't do the ritual. If you romance her and have sex with her at least once, you find out in the epilogue that she went to Orlais and was probably with child.
I'm confused. My Warden romanced her, had a kid with her, killed the archdemon and survived. Though he didn't go through the eluvian with her. Do these dialogue happen if he goes through the eluvian with her? Or do you have to talk with her all the time? Coz i never got these dialogues :P
+Fahmida Chowdhury Yes. Your Warden would have had to have gone through the Eluvian with her so that he could live with her and help raise his son. Also, this particular dialogue happens after you do all the Adamant stuff, so you do also need to go and check back with her regularly. As a rule, I go through and talk to everyone I can talk to whenever I get back from a quest so I can get all the reactions.

Morrigan, despite being quite intelligent and shrewd, was a newb when it came to romance, and probably needed some time to believe that being vulnerable and exposed to another person was worth the risk.

I'm glad I didn't perform the God ritual with her though. They seem better bonded over a human child with a normal soul. I allowed her to drink from the Well of Sorrows though. Despite not wanting to "screw her up", I felt like it was her dream, and couldn't bring myself to deny her that, even if it might make things difficult in the next game.
Cryofax Well written critique, thanks. I have to agree on the romance options, despite not playing a male char--ever, for obvious reasons. Even the fem Warden/nobel storyline was .... meh. You got a small cutscene with Alistair (if king) in Awakenings and a tiny mention in DA2, unless you modded the PC version of the game with the user-created wedding scenes.Although I do have to say, I enjoy the quip Alistair makes to Teagan about "she does have a name, you know" if you played a fem mage Warden w/romance as he speaks to Hawke.
Actually, I have a deep hatred of Morrigan and Flemmeth and their b.s. Their sense of superiority and entitlement based on Flemmeth's betrayal when she sold herself to the king, who killed her husband (she was supposedly in love with . . . . because uhm yeah, sure) internalized within Flemmeth and became toxic, thus making her *exactly* like all the 'men with darkness in their hearts' (paraphrased from DAO) and handing that toxicity down to Morrigan. I would have been thrilled to either have dismissed her in DAO or to have punched her in DAI. ....Though finding out she's now indentured to Flemmeth is quite hilarious and a well deserved ending toward her b.s. (Naturally, I'm talking about a Perfect World State load.)
I have to say though, for a really hard hitting storyline, I still think DA2 had it beat. For a personalized RPG, that one had the story to wrench your gut. Almost everything your Warden and Inquisitor experiences is based on how it impacts Thedas---so second hand, non-personal (outside of the Haven destruction and finding of Skyhold). Hawke's storyline though was right there in your face as an RPG. I think it was one of the best testaments to the skill of Bioware's fantasy titles since Baldur's Gate 2:......I can't see that far to my gaming bookcase. The PS2 version, not the PC version with Shadows of Amn and ...the other expansion. But then, Black Isle, was also known for their hard-hitting storylines and became (for a time) one of the standards in video gaming RPG titles.
I do have to say that I think BioWare crapped out on the Black Emporium with DAI. What do you think?
Rilriia Kilurden I actually haven't played the DA2 DLC so I can't comment on Black Emprium. I do agree however that DA2 had some nice things going for it. I know it's the "red headed stepchild" of the series but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Since I was under the impression ahead of time it was a "bad" game from all the word of mouth, I made a hot blonde female character who was a bitch to everyone lol. "Dad's dead? Get over it! Guards, better haul my sister away!". Ended up having a great time with it.
Cryofax I feel you on that one. The Hawke romance options weren't terribly ducky if you're playing a hetero/femme/mage Hawke. But other than that, I think it has the most personalized storyline of the DA games. You feel what happens to Hawke as they go through the game. The loss of a sister, then the brutal murder/res/re-death of her mutilated mother. The UI wsn't bad, and I think the roaming ability felt slightly more free than DA:O, but I did notice that's when BioWare started dumbing the series down for newb gamers. (I'm an old school rpg'er from the early PC D&D games, so I like detailed char options... DA:I sucked for that.)
One thing I do have to say though, is I loved having Anders, Fenris, and even Aveline bicker with Meredith. That was awesomesauce in a freggin' cup! I don't remember exactly what they said when they were spatting, but it was pretty funny.
I think (don't quote me) the Black Emporium is a free DLC for PS3. Not sure what it might be for other platforms, but the guy who runs it is as funny with his cracks on templar bloody smear stains taking weeks to clean, or telling you not to fondle the Andraste statue. Very well worth the d/l time.
+Cryofax Same here, though I did help her make the god-child. My Warden was a blood mage so it made sense he'd not be averse to the idea of magical experiments. I wish we could go back to playing as the Warden :(

This is the real DA canon for me, the Flemeth-Morrigan-Warden triangle and its relationship with Corypheus, the Old Gods, the Grey Wardens and the Blight. DAII was sure a pretty good game with a good prequel DLC to Inquisition (Legacy), but it has not the narrative power of Origins.
If only we could have a DA game where we played as our Warden investigating the Call and having a final family reunion with Morrigan... Dragon Age: the Calling, would buy the fuck out of it

Dunno about you lads & lasses, but I always felt like you played *as* Hawke and the Inquisitor - while the Hero was *truly* the player's avatar.
I might be alone with this, but I don't think Dragon Age is a franchise for true happy endings. And that's what I love, it's a grim world where every peace of happiness comes with a dark price

This would have been the perfect time to have Leliana and Morrigan talk. It's shameful that they didn't even have one scene together. The only mention of them having known anyone was a throwaway line in the Winter Palace, Leliana mentioning that she has "worked with her before".
That's not quite correct.
They argue in the War Room after the well of Sorrows if the inquisitor drinks.
Also you can ask Leliana about Morrigan and she will tell you that she used to say vile things just to hurt people, but she has changed.
Leliana says that this may be due to Kieran.
Morrigan will also briefly comment on her and the impressive spy network she has built.
She even calls her "Leliana" instead of "the girl".
I was surprised when I got this scene. My dude did Romance Morrigan, but then Romanced Leliana and agreed to Morrigan's ritual. So Leliana talked like they were in love, Morrigan didn't, but then Morrigan talked about those letters that would make Leliana blush with "My Warden"?

From what I remember, I once overdid the item dupe for both Attribute and skill potion that not only is the Warden Cunning but also indimidating and persuasive while having all stats based at 80. I don't think even Flemeth + Archdemon stands a chance.
A game about the warden finding a cure for the calling would be good.
Morrigan was definitely my all time favorite character for dragon age.
I'm a bit miffed the best my hero could do is send a "enhanced belt of health" to something as big as the Inquisition lol.

I mean, if it were me playing as The Warden in the middle of a vitally important quest, and got asked by letter to send help to some inquisition fighting demons that i never heard about, my HoF would send them that random belt as well, and probably just to free some space in his invertory.

I was SO mad at my Warden when I found out that he left on a quest with an unlikely guarantee of success. I mean, I get that he had good intentions and wants to spend a long life with Morrigan and Kieran, but by leaving he's wasting what precious time he DOES have left with him. Tbh, I think he is actually doing better things probably than stopping a random mage that is impulsive. He already killed the Architect and I bet he is on track of the other ones, maybe even searching for the tainted city itself to find how Blight was created etc. You dont know what he's up to.
My warden died fighting the archdemon :(. Had a child with morrigan. Met the kid. asked morrigan about my previous warden and she spoke about him in a much sadder tone about him. Though she never outright calls him the hero of ferelden

Morrigan should be in your party to fight Archdemon if you wanted him to be alive. Then Morrigan would have the old god's soul going to the child. Warden will die if you didn't bring Morrigan in party
panzlithium not true if you did the ritual it will happen bringing her or not but you can still have a child as long as you slept with her in general and don't say I'm wrong I've got 300 hours+ on DAO (may sound sad but the game came out sooooo long ago)
Yes if Warden slept with Morrigan, she will have the child, whether with old god soul and warden alive, and normal child but warden will die when Morrigan isn't in your party on last fight.

Morrigan and The Warden having a child and remaining together is what I personally consider to be the canon plot of the games. Of course the games can have different outcomes, with different stories.. but it just seems sensible to me given how crucial Morrigan and her mother, Flemeth, is to the plot development. I fancied her from the beginning personally. Her attitude, her behaviour, her snarky comments. Some would call her a bitch, but I had a sensation of her being more than that, so I pursued her as my first (and only, in every playtrough) love option.
I was pleased to see in the DLC Witch Hunt that we could follow her. It was a sensible option as The Warden was no longer needed to stay around and he had, in theory, fulfilled his destiny and task; Killing an Archdemon. There would be no (theoretically) Blights to come for generations.
Even more so was I pleased to get to see my dear Morrigan again in Dragon Age; Inquisition. As "bad" of a game as people try to make it out to be, I quite enjoyed it myself. Even moreso because she referenced my Warden in a manner she'd never have done before. She went from a tantalising woman to a downright loveable one. THAT is how you make a strong female character that doesn't feel shoehorned in. No need to make them masculine.

While yen is proud she uses geralt and treats him like a dog, morrigan quickly treats you like a person, and her face shows regret every time she does use you.

I wish she didn't address him as the Hero Of Ferelden all the time. In Origins depending on your race and your backstory you always had an different Surname. Why isn't she addressing him as that? To save money on voice acting?

SuperTiberian I think it's more for the Inquisitor's sake than her own. His name alone isn't necessarily recognizable, whereas referring to him by his title is something anyone will understand. Plus I think it's weird to refer to your husband by his surname. Granted, lover in DA2 calls Hawke by their surname, but all of the DA2 companions are especially weird like that.

There's a glitch in the game for Consoles but for the PC players, they can read an extent from the HOF regarding Morrigan. Too bad I play it on PS4 so I didn't get to read it in my game but checked it out in another youtube video.
I really hope there are 2 more games left in the DA series. One set in the Anderfels dealing with this brewing Warden civil war and the Darkspawn threat, the calling issues and possibly finding out more about the titans and Solas' connection to them. I don't want these issues to become sidelined.
The second game would be about Tevinter, the Qunari, and dealing with Solas and the fade.

Think about it your group is your warden from DA,O and the group members are your love interest for the warden, your hawk, the love interest of your hawk in DA 2, if you want to then put your inquisitor with there love too in the group but i think that would be imposible because the inqiuisition is to big to be. maybee you can join them in the end but i think from the begining that would make no sense.
That can be the best game in DA history ( if they don`t fuck the story up ) because at the begining of the game you only chose what is the character that you want to play, your warden from DA,O, or your hawk from DA2.
The 2 of them of must have there own storys and desitions they must make in the game but this would be a dream team the best from the best.

Celestino Silva there is a DLC where you hunt her down and can choose (or convince her) to stay with her/you.
Avernus and Fiona or whatever there names were.. they were both mages so I'm assuming to remove the Blight/Warden blood they have to use blood magic or take in a demon to get rid of it possibly?
Avernus did use a form of blood magic yet at the same time it wasn't blood magic. It didn't cure him but whatever he did made him live a long time. Fiona is different, I don't think she's a blood Mage...but if you learn about who she is and who she is related to, it's like ohhhh wow moment. I don't know if you know so I don't want to spoil it
But Fiona was completely cured from the taint, so she isn't dealing with the calling and can die of old age. Hence her not being with the grey wardens anymore

I romanced her, did the ritual but I didnt go thru the Eluvian tho. I still got an option to find my Warden & it reveals he is searching for a cure for the Calling but Morrrigan seems over my Warden. I guess 10years will do that.
Ugh, I hate the Calling plot point and how big a deal is made about it. Most wardens are probably recruited in their early twenties or thirties, and the Calling starts affecting you after 30 years or so. That means 50-60 years of living as a professional warrior in a medieval fantasy setting before it becomes a problem. Which is ridiculous. Any warden not squirreled away in headquarters for their career is ten times more likely to die in battle or of some other complication than ever make it to that age in the first place.

I am glad the choice I made in DA:O, DA:A became cannon.
Its not actually "cannon". But DA:I lets you determine key points from the previous game in the dragon age keep. One of those options is to chose who was the wardens romance and if you actually helped in her ritual or not. But of course, what is and isn't "cannon" is a rather flexible thing in the games, since you always had a choice in the world settings of later games and Origins itself is just an offer of multiple possible "cannons". The choice which origin you want to play is actually already the first decision to set the story on its path. All other "potential" warden characters seem to exist too, but your choice of who to play kills all the other alternatives. Its more like a multiverse, where the story can be shaped however you like.

As far as I remember I exhausted all conversation options with Morrigan and this wasn't mentioned and the war table mission didn't bring anything relevant either... just that the hero sent some items and a letter... a letter which I couldn't read (is there such an option and I just didn't find it?)...

Yeah but the Inquisitor wouldn't necessarily know him by that name. But they sure as hell know the Hero of Ferelden, who singlehandledly stopped a Blight and is the only Grey Warden to (potentially) survive killing an Archdemon

I'm confused. My Warden romanced her, had a kid with her, killed the archdemon and survived. Though he didn't go through the eluvian with her. Do these dialogue happen if he goes through the eluvian with her? Or do you have to talk with her all the time? Coz i never got these dialogues :P
+Fahmida Chowdhury Yes. Your Warden would have had to have gone through the Eluvian with her so that he could live with her and help raise his son. Also, this particular dialogue happens after you do all the Adamant stuff, so you do also need to go and check back with her regularly. As a rule, I go through and talk to everyone I can talk to whenever I get back from a quest so I can get all the reactions.
