@@Choshako it’s never that simple, either way. The Chantry members are subjects of the ruler of the nation they reside in, but they also have great support of the common people. Were Alistair or any ruler expel the Templar Order, there would be mass unrest from the common people. Likely a rebellion is there was even one magical-related event. A mage is possessed and the resulting abomination runs amok with no good way of stopping it. Furthermore, the Chantry (at the time) controlled access to Lyrium, and would presumably cut off the mages in that nation. This is to say nothing of the nobility, who may see a ruler rejecting the Chantry as the perfect opportunity to advance themselves. Or foreign rulers, who will use the expelling of Templars as proof the ruler is a heretic, thereby justifying an invasion.
5:08 Allistair: I suppose I should get back to the old ball and chain Teagan: You know the queen hates it when you call her that Background Templar: That's right!

Why does everyone go on about how bad Dragon Age 2 was, I bought it for $20 and had the chance to return it, and I didn't. The game provided some serious story elements that were needed for an obvious over all build up. Not to mention making me cry at parts *SPOILER*, when Carver died, and Liandra. :/ I also enjoyed being able to go somewhere foreign and do something entirely different, and then Hawke ran away with Anders in love, keeping him safe hopefully. *sigh* Gay romance is so cute.
goff0103 Im here to give the other side of the fanbase's opinion. I thought DA 2 was great. I don't mind the repetitive locations, but the voice acting and couple it with the well written companion personalities, I enjoyed it far more than DA Origins. I'm not saying DA Origins is bad or even boring. But DA 2 had traits that allowed me to be immersed into the game. DA O had an excellent story, but I guess it's safe for me to say there wasn't enough drama for me. Not enough bitter conversations between companions to give more color to the already colorful story. Not enough dilemma. Truthfully, I only liked Morrigan and Alistair in DA O. To me, a game succeeds in immersion by being moved by its characters. Which to me, I'd say,DA 2 has done a better job in that than DA O.
i think this is because one of his other cameos involves him in the bar drunk because loghain is still alive Bioware: make 2 facial models for alistair... no way in hell thats happening, that requires effort and none of us here have the slightest idea on how that works
To me DA2 is the weakest of the series, for now because we will see what DA4 brings to the table. But that doesn't mean it is a bad game. I think it was really good despite being rough around the edges. But as you said it needed more time
I just looove Alistair. So glad I made the female noble warden and married him. We both survived. So this is fitting. I know they probably won't, but I keep hoping in DA Inquisition I can have my warden and him back in the party.
From what I know, there will be cameos from previous characters (Morrigan is confirmed as returning, though not as a playable character), but I think in all likelihood, if any previous characters are playable, it will only be one or two of them (I'm hoping for another playable character like DA2's Merrill).
I was thinking at some stage they'll keep on making sequels, and in the 6th/7th one, It'll be a new main character, and ever character you've made up till that point as companions.
AustralFever lol could you imagine a party that powerful, they would be able to take on the Maker himself. I was very, very surprised with the outcome of Merril's quest. Both her and Anders blow my mind. In every Bioware game up until DA2, I always supported my companions thinking they would never do any wrong. From now on I need to actually think about my choices. DA2 did a good job of giving you real consequences for your actions.
"You look...different." "Don't we all?" Me: Yes, and Zevran looks like he's been slammed in the face with a 2x4. And what is up with the twitchy guard in the back eavesdropping like crazy XD.
'The old ball and chain.' I laughed so hard at this! In Awakening thats exactly what Anders calls Alistair! Also because my Warden would so kick his ass if she heard him call her that.
jr5687 You know, to be fair, the warden would've asked HIM to sleep with her. And Alistair hated Morrigan... so... if they have angry sex then it would probably mostly be on Alistair's side.
The fact that the champion is a woman doesn't mean that the warden would have been woman too... just saying... and if warden was a woman then in the scene in DA:O Morrigan assures Alistair that he won't hate it(sex) as much as he believes.
kyky oppia No.... but the fact Alistair is straight and married to the Warden and said warden is called a Queen, implies she is a woman. And if she is in love with Alistair and him her, do really think he's going to enjoy having sex with someone his doesn't really like, ie Morrigan, he is not going to enjoy it. Did you have a point or did you just wanna fail to properly read anything in my comment or in the scene shown here?
***** Indeed, I wasn't holding Origins up as an example of glorious facial textures, because it certainly isn't:p Just thought DA2 was a step back from the original, in more ways than one.
Hendrik Sauer I was actually worried for the longest when I heard him =O I was like..: "wait.. what?.. Oh NO... don't tell me they had a fall out because of the daily duties of a royal family".. I was confused and sad. But I'm coming to terms with this being a silly joke of his.
Warden: Old ball and chain! Alistair, you know very well that I hate being called that. I would think you would at least speak nicely about your queen. Alistair: Calm down Cousland gash, humor. Warden: All these years married, I would expect are foolishness was well behind us. Alistair: Come on wife I have cake. I do be serious, this is the part where the wife be herself Warden: And this is the part where I take your child and me into the backroom for the rest of the day. GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR, HMPH! (Warden leave) Alistair: She's actually cute, in enough time you quickly see her as the best friend you never knew and wife. As for wife? Yeah, shes taken.
Alistair: just because she killed an archdemon doesnt mean she scares me. - later - Queen: OH ALISTAAAAAIIIR WHATS THIS ABOUT ME BEING A BALL AND CHAIN?!!! Alistair: 0_0"
I LOVE how he introduces himself "I'm Alistair, uh.. king of Ferelden". This is so Alistair. The stinky cheese part too ! So cute when he talks about is Warden-wife !
I know! It was so cool when I figured that out. She also voices Elenwen and a Daedric prince in Skyrim, and some other voices. She is such a great Voice Actor :)
By the end of Awakening, I had a Spirit Warrior/Champion/Templar Warden/Queen of Ferelden who barely took any damage from attacks at all... if they even hit. And he's not scared. XD To be honest, I prefer the Arcane Warrior/Battlemage combo more. Couple that with the mana regen ability you get from drinking strange things at Soldier's Peak, even Templars that drain your mana look cute and cuddly as you cut them down.
God i just want from the Bioware to make a game, where i can once again be grey warden... Origins was the best out of the all DA games. I admit, that those elven gods looks pretty interesting too, but its nothing compared to the blight and archdemon we faced in the first game. Actually, they changed so much in the 2 and inquisition(and truthfuly i managed to complete inquisition just once, and even then it was just out of curiosity how it ends, while origins i played at least 7 times). Just hope, that in the 4. game, we will finally see, what is blight, and how it come to the world.
To be honest, I love the Alistair Grey Warden storyline much more, than his king story. Of course, it means a tragic ending either for him, or for Hawke in Inquisition, but his relationship with the Warden if they are both grey wardens seems much deeper and meaningful to me. It's funny how he jokes here about the queen, but while Warden Alistair jokes too, if the Warden survived, he still refers to her as "the love of his life", and in Inquisition describes their years together as the "happiest he's ever been". The Warden storyline is somehow about endurance, how their love is one of the few good things in their otherwise really dark lives... and the king storyline somehow lacks this complexity and depth for me.
The Templar behind Alistair reminds me of one of Loghain’s soldiers during the Landsmeet. Dude whipped out his crossbow when heard Alistair didn’t want his boss in the Wardens.

Alistair: "Um... King?"
Control of mages falls into the purview of the Chantry, so, way above the paygrade of kings.
@@paulofrota3958 Not according to the Grand Cleric Elthina, she says so herself that the Chantry must obey the laws, kings decide the laws, ergo, king beats Chantry
"Weren't you a grey warden once?"
"Wait weren't you?"
Guys.. you can't just stop being grey wardens you know? It's literally in your blood. XD
But the rest of the non-wardens don't have know about that
3:02 the templar in the back is like "wait... What?!"
he definitely started contemplating a possible job elsewhere i bet XD
5:08
Allistair: I suppose I should get back to the old ball and chain
Teagan: You know the queen hates it when you call her that
Background Templar: That's right!
Interesting how the Templar in the background looks at the conversation AT THE MOMENT hawke suggests to kick them out!
"That's right. Swooping is bad."
Oh Alistair. I love you.
That Eaves dropping templar is just priceless XD
"Swooping is bad." OH MY GOD WHY DID I REMEMBER THAT LINE
Because it's the best line ever😆
"Why not kick the Templars out?"
*Background Templar instant turn and stare
That guy gives the creeps more so than a fear demon
Huh... when I first read "with Warden Queen" I thought we were talking about Anders. ;P
XDDDDDDDDDD
"Yes. Swooping is bad." Deja vu anyone else?
Cairrean *Alistair having a flashback*
Morrigan: You fear Barbarians will swoop down upon you?
Alistair: Yes.... Swooping is bad
"You look different" "Don't we all?" All I could say to that was "Good one Isabela, and true as well"
Still against all kinds of swooping Alistair?
Great reference :D
When Alistair said gettin g back to the ball and chain with Teagan telling him not to call the Hero that, I swear the Templar in the back was trying so hard not to fall down laughing.
And where is Warden Queen here? exactly? Under the carpet?
@Ryan Dunham ohhhh forgot you can do that
I’m all in favor of the popular idea that she’s disguised as the Templar behind him.
Probably in their bedroom wink wink
Thats a very twitchy Templar i keep thinking he is gonna tackle Alistair from behind and try to arrest him.
he'd try to arrest the husband of the Hero of Fereldan? lol, good luck with that
@@GenericUsername-qp1ww More importantly the King of Ferelden.
By the order of the jarl you've commited- wait wrong game
He nearly breaks his neck to look at Hawke and Alistair after the chantry and kick the templars out comments. 🤣
Alistair: Guess I better get back to the old ball and chain.
Warden Queen: So, you have chosen death... oh and btw I invited Morrigan for dinner.
''You look different'' ''Don't we all'' Nice to see everyone notices they look different than in Origins
The affection in his voice at 5:15 when he says "no she doesn't" is adorable. xD F!CouslandxAlistair will forever be my otp.
Some people don't need reasons to complain about how bad something is. I loved DA2 :)
I love Dragon Age 2 too :) Both games are amazing in their own way!!
.
goff0103 Im here to give the other side of the fanbase's opinion.
Which to me, I'd say,DA 2 has done a better job in that than DA O.
goff0103 I'm no hater. I've played DA O twice and DA 2 over 6 times, usually making similar decisions.
Oh my Maker, Alistair look like he have terrible hangover.
i think this is because one of his other cameos involves him in the bar drunk because loghain is still alive
Bioware: make 2 facial models for alistair... no way in hell thats happening, that requires effort and none of us here have the slightest idea on how that works
joey13133 heh... you got jokes.
thank you
I spy with my little eye, someone who is about to destroy the chantry 1:07
Mitchell Edwards the best comment omg
Holy shit! 😂😂😂
DA2 is an underappreciated game, definitely need more time in development however.
To me DA2 is the weakest of the series, for now because we will see what DA4 brings to the table. But that doesn't mean it is a bad game. I think it was really good despite being rough around the edges. But as you said it needed more time
"Just because she killed an archdemon, she doesn't scare me"
"just keep telling yourself that"
Simply awesome haha
that angry templar look when the champion suggests kicking them out, lol.
I was actually annoyed by Merrill which is sad because I know she was suppose to be sweet. AustralFever I like your idea
Agree completely with you storygamer
Swooping is bad.
And the templar I'm the background should keep his nose out of other peoples business. Tch. No wonder his mates call him nosey.
You know, this kinda means Alistair had sex with Morrigan. You ever wonder how they deal with that in their relationship?
Hopefully with angry sex.
jr5687 You know, to be fair, the warden would've asked HIM to sleep with her. And Alistair hated Morrigan... so... if they have angry sex then it would probably mostly be on Alistair's side.
FNGLHR Don't worry I'm already hard at work on this fanfiction.
Facial animation, just one of the things Origins did much better than '2'.
***** Indeed, I wasn't holding Origins up as an example of glorious facial textures, because it certainly isn't:p Just thought DA2 was a step back from the original, in more ways than one.
"Why don't you just kick the Templars out?" she says, right in front of a Templar.
Love the part when Anders and Alistair both realise who each other are XD
Why Alistair call her BALL and CHAIN!!!?? >:o
Hendrik Sauer I was actually worried for the longest when I heard him =O I was like..: "wait.. what?.. Oh NO... don't tell me they had a fall out because of the daily duties of a royal family".. I was confused and sad. But I'm coming to terms with this being a silly joke of his.
Well if you want to rekindle the flame, you can always ask the Architect for a mini Blight XD
Lmao X'D Right?
It’s an old expression used to refer to a man’s wife, it just might not be appreciated by many women. My Queen however would find it adorable.
Years later and the Templar in the back still makes me cackle.
But my Elissa Cousland was really nice...I can't believe Alistair would say that D:
+PrettyDark11 He's clearly saying it affectionately, everyone knows the Warden wears the pants in that relationship xD Don't worry about it.
Much like Anora my Queen is very much the leader of Ferelden.
To be fair he was also called old ball and chain
"Isabella? You look....different."
No shit.
Way hotter imo. Got that Caribbean Pirate hotness now.
Robin MX Yeah. Isabella in DOA was friggin' hideous.
Her skin turned like 5 shades darker as well... Tf
It was like one big reunion right here. Everyone knew each other except for the champion.
I do be serious, this is the part where the wife be herself
Warden: And this is the part where I take your child and me into the backroom for the rest of the day. GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR, HMPH!
(Warden leave)
Alistair: She's actually cute, in enough time you quickly see her as the best friend you never knew and wife. As for wife? Yeah, shes taken.
Aaron Wilson lol
Warden pops back out door
Warden: I could have had ZEVRAN, you know!
Warden out.
@@sjhorton1184 Teagen comes out of nowhere going "OOOOOOHHHHHH"
Alistair: just because she killed an archdemon doesnt mean she scares me.
- later -
Queen: OH ALISTAAAAAIIIR WHATS THIS ABOUT ME BEING A BALL AND CHAIN?!!!
Alistair: 0_0"
"You look...different."
"Don't we all."
Oh my god I died.
I LOVE how he introduces himself "I'm Alistair, uh.. king of Ferelden". This is so Alistair. The stinky cheese part too !
So cute when he talks about is Warden-wife !
1 of those things happened. We did however get to yell at Orlesian nobles though, that was nice.
The templar in the background is the best part of this.
He looks so pleased when he makes that callback to "swooping is bad"
Meredith's voice...I recognize it from Age of Mythology!! She was the African character that helped you in the Egypt portion!!
Amanra, that's her characters name
I know! It was so cool when I figured that out. She also voices Elenwen and a Daedric prince in Skyrim, and some other voices. She is such a great Voice Actor :)
Kudos to amazing voice actors!
***** Dude .... You just reminded me of my childhood, thank you good sir :P
CreativeUsernameEh Elenwyn is the high elven ambassador not a daedric prince
You were having an argument about macy's... HAHAHAHA the captions are crazy!!
Duty to the Make up hahaha
SOMEONE will be sleeping on the couch for the next week if the queen hears of this. ;)
By the end of Awakening, I had a Spirit Warrior/Champion/Templar Warden/Queen of Ferelden who barely took any damage from attacks at all... if they even hit. And he's not scared. XD
To be honest, I prefer the Arcane Warrior/Battlemage combo more. Couple that with the mana regen ability you get from drinking strange things at Soldier's Peak, even Templars that drain your mana look cute and cuddly as you cut them down.
I don’t think they would appreciate being called cute and cuddly, but now I have the image of fighting Templar plushies.
Aw that is adorable.
that was hilarious, if only you could get your grey warden from origins as a companion in 2
Nice hat
"That's right. Swooping is bad."
Hawke approves +10
"yes swooping is bad" Alstair 2010
AHhhhhh..... swooping is bad! >_
The Templar behind Alistair reminds me of one of Loghain’s soldiers during the Landsmeet. Dude whipped out his crossbow when heard Alistair didn’t want his boss in the Wardens.
The templar in the back is adding much sense to the whole scene!
"You look different" "don't we all" that's such a nice breaking the 4th wall xD
swooping is bad!!! its back!! XD i love that
The guard is suspicious, he keeps looking at the King!
Thats probably his wife XD
Anyone else notice how the Templar turned his head so quickly at 3:04 when somebody mentioned kick out all the Templars.
So many memories, especially at 'swooping is bad'.
“Old ball and chain” Careful Alistair damn warden hears that I don’t think you’ll get any for a long time.
I love the tongue in cheek nod to the change of appearance for a great deal of the Dragon Age Cast that appeared in Origins and Awakening
no one: background templar after Alistair's comment about the queen: *agressive foot stomping*
