I appreciate you telling your story. I was diagnosed with CLL four months ago. I received 5 units of blood that first week. My white cell count was at 349,000. Hemoglobin was 6.1. The treatment has been going well with very few side effects. I've also been told, "It's the good cancer." It's, "the best of the worst." The psychological aspect of this diagnosis follows me wherever I go. I don't want "the good cancer". As I'm typing this, Federal Express just dropped off another 30-day supply of venetoclax. I'm 62, and I'm hoping to live out my days happy and healthy. I pray that you and your family are doing well. And to whoever's reading this I say, trust in the Lord. He knows what we're going through.

Does a blood test diagnose this?

yes, lymphocytes which are cancer infected white blood cells would have a noticeably higher count and this would determine you diagnosis

It's an indicator but not a diagnosis. Swollen lymph nodes, night sweats are other pointers in the direction of CLL. Some sort of biopsy will probably be necessary as well to get a diagnosis.
