Medical Stories - AML: Walter's Story
According to the National Institutes of Health, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common acute leukemia among the adult population and accounts for about 80% of all cases.
Walter said he “went from being extremely healthy to being extremely sick in about 48 hours” before learning that he had AML. After a failed attempt at chemotherapy, Walter’s outlook changes when a donor gives him the opportunity to undergo a transplant procedure - and Walter gains a “new family member” in the process.

Dr. David A. Sallman, myeloid section head at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

Hope you’re well now.
My wife was diagnosed with stsge 4 on 5/18/2024. Her inly symptom was nerve pain in her right shoulder. The doctors believe it was swelling pushing her lung up into ger right side and pinching the nreves rhere. We took her for rotator cuff surgery a month before her diagnosis. They found a skight tear and repaired it. The pain didn't go away. A series of tests revealed later it was bile duct cancer.
Why can’t these stories tell how they were Feeling. How long it Actually took to get the right Diagnosis. Cuz if the CT scan looks ok then Doctors just think they are fine. No Follow up nothing. And you still know something isn’t right. And what it took for the doctor to finally believe you. And get the right test done. We need those stories. Cuz more ppl fight a Battle to get a Diagnosis more then anything. Unless it’s super obvious you have Some kinda cancer. But there are Cancer really hard to diagnose we need stories like that.
My wife is with the disease Suffering a lot. i hope doctors are working on it to get it medicated.
I had my Gallbladder removed in 2023 and the perceiver caused a Stricture around my Bile Ducts and now I am n stage 2 cholangiocarcinoma. They tried to repair the damage but was unsuccessful. I am seeking help in a malpractice claim in NJ. Any advice on a good lawyer would be most appreciated.
wishing you the best! lovely cat, song, and paintings!!! ✨
My grandma passed from bile duct cancer. She was 90. I had never heard of it before her diagnosis.
I am GIST patient nd starts imatinib 400mg on 28.11.2024 the tumor is big
Gastric cancer is caused by the Helicobacter Pylori bacterium. To heal, you need to target the root cause.
God, thank you for deliverance from evil and from wickedness. Thank you for safety. Thank you for protection. Thank you for rescue and thank you for keeping our hands clean and safe and busy. We bind idleness In Jesus mighty name. We bind idolatry In Jesus mighty name. We loose safety and the Lord Jesus mighty protection over Gods creation In Jesus mighty name. Amen 🙏 Thank you for healing the land and ground in your grace in Jesus mighty name. Amen 🙏 🤍
Im sorry for what you have gone through. My husband went through a lot of what you hàve gone through. Some of my husbands diease got better over the years. After all he went through fighting Wilsons disease he died of cancer in 2008 at the age of 49. His family had a lot of members who had cancer that did not have Wilsons disease so it wS not the disease that caused the cancer. I was so angry because of his hard fought battle with WD and maybe I still am. I never dated because he was such a wonderful man I could not have replaced him. He sounds a lot like you. This disease changes everything, it is how we are able to cope with those changes our lives changed as his health changed as well.
Very inspiring, beautiful couple. Such a loss for him, but God opened a window.
You talk about specific treatments, but give no details of which ones, why? I was recently diagnosed with T1 High Grade NON muscle invasive, which remained NON muscle invasive after the second scrapping. I'm about to start Radio / chemo treatments, but in the meantime I am taking Ivermectin, 36mg daily for 3 months.
I have had LEMS for 20 years and I run an online LEMS support group with global membership. Janelle’s story is one I can relate to. I had breast cancer as my LEMS trigger. I have found in my 20 years of supporting LEMS patients that cancer triggers may be less than statistics suggest and other types of cancers can also trigger LEMS. (Para Neoplastic syndrome). Immune suppression as an initial go to for LEMS can be ill advised due to the potential underlying malignancy. Over the years, the stand out miracle drug for LEMS has been RUZURGI (formerly known as 3,4 DAP (or amifampridine BASE form) - base meaning no phosphate salt. Sadly it is now not available in the US. But it is available in Canada and Australia and other countries. It has gotten people out of wheelchairs. Newer versions of it - as attested to by so many of the people I have had in my LEMS support group, have simply and very sadly - not been as effective and have caused nasty side effects.
Sadly, until I had to switch to Firdapse instead of Ruzurgi I was living a fairly normal life. I was diagnosed in 2001 when my sons were finishing kindergarten and 3rd grade. I was diagnosed quickly and on 3,4 DAP or Ruzurgi I was able to use hiking sticks to walk on the Great Wall and at Machu Picchu including shooting an entire basketball game from the baseline at the Penn State basketball court without using any mobility devices. 4 months later when I could no longer obtain Ruzurgi I began having difficulty with my mobility and for the first time in my life, felt discomfort at numerous times during the day. In 2 years I had 7 seizures.
Such a shame about the Ruzurgi. So many people adversely affected after losing access.
I had Klatskins Tumor. Cholangiocarcinoma. Stage 4 terminal. I was sent from Reno VA to Stanford University and Dr Dua. 11 hour whipple, and I survived! This was in 2020. I still have a 2-17% chance of surviving 5 years. Still here!
I had last night frend of mine died of melanoma at 49.. Here,in Africa, there is not even close those treatments options you talking about---not even genetic testing, no any targeted or immunotherepy😢😢😢
my mother in law, passed away 10 days after ct scan her sign was weight loss, jaundice and edema, its very aggressive cancer she was in a lot of pain, so many brilliant minds and yet no one comes close to defeat this disease😢😢
I’m Amanda and got diagnosed with diffused scleroderma in 2005 when I was 26 I am 45. I also have crest syndrome. I have good days and bad. I rust ride the coaster for now but they symptoms are definitely getting more matured as the yrs go on. I’m just looking for someone ( a friend) who understands. I find most ppl don’t cuz they don’t see most of what makes me hurt and suffer. Xo
One of my friends living in Ontario, Canada was diagnosed GBM in 2017. She went through all the surgeries and chemos but her health ony got deteriorated. Unfortunately, I've lost the contact of her and need to know her condition right now. Would anyone please help me?
i am 43, i started to have long lasting and constant chronic migraine at 41, after covid vaccine plus long hours screen time of work, no one could understand how debilitating constant migraine was unless they got one
There is only 1 sure, guaranteed method for a cure. Removal of mole at its earliest stage. This is an insidious disease & I don’t see a cure at all just as in pancreatic & glioblastoma cancers.
Hello, I'm from Brazil and I have type 1 plasminogen deficiency. I'm looking for an alternative treatment to improve the injuries and I'm available for studies and research that may occur. I have lesions on my eyes, gums and kidneys and I am not currently undergoing any treatment.
My wife was just diagnosed with bile duct cancer yesterday. Im so heartbroken. When going straight to surgery... is it the Whipple procedure? What to do... idk.
Stay strong ❤

My partner just turned 35 and they say he has over an %80 chance of having myeloma based on blood testing and are waiting on the bone marrow biopsy. I'm terrified so I'm very grateful for these videos
Look into lion's mane mushroom as well.
Try the Mediterranean diet, use Herb's like turmeric, ginger and Asian ginseng and speak to a chiropractor.
Thanks kenny, 😮
I pray she did not take the "vaccine" that is not a vaccine. May you heal fully ma'am.
I also hope she didn't . I suffer from the same disease as her except recurrent pericarditis doesn't qualify for full disability in my country so I'm cooked. I'll probably die from it.
We also live in Tampa and my husband is being treated for stomach cancer at Moffitt. I would love to know more about Pam’s treatment.

Why money rising? Does amerikas health security not pay for it?
Is she gone?
This is bullshit. We need to figure out the cause of this condition. I have 15 foods I can eat to stay in remission.
Duane, when you got the Stage 4 diagnosis, doctors didn't remove your bladder? Is that because of your age?
Sandra!!! I don’t think I’ve ever heard your story. ♥️ Amy T Duke.
I hope that he is still alive
He is, and still fighting! Had his second recurrence and surgery 5 years after his first. Starting treatment again soon.
Wemt from m.s. to a black Thang....bye
Thank you for sharing your story bc I was diagnosed when I was 5 ( 45 now) and they called it or...how my dad use to tell me, " a low blood platelet disorder." It wasn't until this last 5 years that I've had more information on ITP. I think I go into remission once in a while but have always had hematoma's on my legs pretty much all year around and extreme fatigue. I hope to someday be able to afford treatment.
