- World record high score speed run of the 1st campaign mission (Safehouse). Time: 7:17. Score: 32599.

RULES:
High-score speedrun of Splinter Cell: Blacklist. My main goal is to achieve maximum possible points in each mission, which requires 4 things:
1) PERFECTIONIST difficulty: it has the highest score multiplier.
2) GHOST playstyle: leaving enemies undisturbed provides the highest bonuses. Whenever it is required to knockout enemies to proceed I will try to do it without breaking the streak.
3) EXPLORATION: each Exploration bonus provides 100 points and they never take long to grab. Considering that 1 second is worth ~3 points, they always recoup the cost of time lost.
4) SPEED: if you're fast the time bonus could make up as much as 30-40% of the total score.

If you have a sufficiently powerful PC, but experience severe framerate drops when playing the game, try this:
1) Open C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Ubisoft\Blacklist\videoSettings.ini
2) Find this line: Occlusion_Off=2
3) Change it to this: Occlusion_Off=0
This fixed the framefrate issue for me. Note that changing the graphics preset (Low/High/Ultra) in-game reverts it back to Occlusion_Off=2, so if you're going to use the fix you should probably make the file read-only.

I remeber grinding this mission on ghost to get upgrades early. Probably the only mission in the game where i could do full ghost with minimal knockouts

This is ideal only is certain occasions, obviously he’s a ghost player and has bent the rules using assault methods although he typically sticks to speedy ghost runs, whereas I find the cover to cover system to be perfect for making a loud noise and using it to evade past the enemies that are going towards last known position. Not going to get into it much but this guy did great to show us perfectionists a little idea of how to achieve high scores, wish he still played to compare his scores with mine I broke several records this past year. I just hit over 35k on special missions hq, using the cover to cover during the flash drive part is crucial for me to remain undetected. I don’t record high score runs because I beat everyone and it’s my method but I’ll say I used cover to cover so far on Site F Special missions hq and the embassy, lol

Basically exceptional to use during combat or when you’re spotted it’s ideal to get to the left or right before spinting or crouching away. It prevents them from staying alerted to your position

I figured as much. I wasn't totally sure there was different walk speeds using an analog stick. Prenatual plays on a PC so his explanation only applied to pc gamers lol. Thanks for your help. Greatly appreciated!

I always throw a sleep grenade through the hole over the door to rescue Kobin. Never thought of just walking in.
when i do your move at 4:14 one guy is staying there and not entering the room.
That make sense. I'll admit you pull it off perfectly as I never see you slow, but perhaps that's the point. I'll play around with that. Till I read this I only used the slow for getting juggernauts. I'm going to play around with this right now. Many thanks!!!
I got 14 stealth ko's @ section 3 so either more than 10 extras spawn or it glitched and registered one of the ko's twice. I wonder if the glitched scorers abused this area and got 20+ ko's

Ok, seeing this makes me realize I'm bad when I was glad to be in top 20 (I think my best is n°6 in Detention Facility, could have been beaten since). So much things I wasn't aware of, like guys spawning down the street you could KO. I just hope the cheaters with hundred thousands points will be banned from leaderboard.

lmao im new to this game and it took me 50 minutes with normal difficulty with multiple respawns
2:40 after knock three guys out, the ten guys doesn't spawn which is ridiculous and i need to start all over again for that score.

Funny how this is the first mission, yet the most hardcore when it comes to getting many points.
How the flip is that thing in the beginning working for you? The guy who moves to investigate turns around after 2 seconds, so I can't possible get through that part without waiting for the conversation to finish.
@@Jjramse1 Lol, I actually gave up on this mission pretty soon I think. IIRC the randomnesss annoyed me too much, and I thought that my time was better spent on other missions. Haven't played this game since 2014 probably. I'm getting old!

Oh lol. Never struck me that getting spotted was a good thing. I just assumed not getting spotted was the best way at all times, but if there are more enemies that's obviously better.
I have the same suit then, but I swear mine looks different. In addition you slide by some people that I just can't. For example Hawkin's seafort the very first two guys... That doesn't seem to work for me XD. Is there any other super stealth gear? what boots?

Move fast in general and slower when up close, use shadows, shoot lights and use some form of cover.

I play a lot of the same games as you. I loooove stealth and tactical games. Is there anything on the gaming horizon you are excited for? I'm not finding anything to look forward to gaming-wise...
Currently, my most anticipated games are Civilization: Beyond Earth and Pillars of Eternity -- although the 1st one is a strategy game and the 2nd one is an RPG.
If we're talking about stealth/action games, there are several of them coming out these year: Routine, Styx: Master of Shadows, Watch Dogs, Alien: Isolation, Sniper Elite 3, Batman: Arkham Knight.
Out of the games I played recently, I really liked Dark Souls 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. I just finished Wolfenstein: The New Order and it was also pretty fun.

You say,you play on perferctionist but when i checked the leaderboard;it was on normal difficulty.
Where is the guard suppose to be at 5:39 ?
I replayed this mission several times after making this video trying to find additional ways to score extra points. The last time I played I only *started* the mission on Normal, then *changed* the difficulty in the menu to Perfectionist after the 3rd checkpoint and completed the rest of the mission on that difficulty. You can knock out 2 extra guards (and hide their bodies) at 0:56 if you play on Normal. It gives slightly more points than what I do here, but the game displays my position on the leaderboard showing the difficulty I *started* on (i.e Normal).
The guard at 5:39 is on the left, behind the wall. You can see him on the minimap.

I usually get about of 50/50 13 or 14, but managed 15 the first time I tried today. Still haven't been able to fast run the map though, the variable movement of the enemies hasn't been on my side yet (I'm of course talking about the second zipline). I have also gotten as little as 6 kills in the area, and often just the three. It seems the restart mission thing only works 100% from the Paladdin. Same thing with Detention Facility, a window is impossible to go through after restarting the mission
It sure isn't obvious. Looks like maybe one other guy has found it, but it seems almost impossible to find out. I've been searching the area a zillion times, but can't find anything fancy.
The low video framerate of Dxtory is caused by your recording hard drive having too low of a write speed. I tested Dxtory on my old external 2TB HDD and while in-game I got about 80 fps the video fps was only five or so.
Hey! :) those 10 people spawning right undeneath you, are that just super rare and random?? i've played through th mission sometimes now, managed to get in 27. place. but they only spawned ther 1 of the 100 times i tried.....
It's not random, just plain buggy. They always spawn there -- but only the first time you get to that area. If you reload from a checkpoint or restart the mission from the menu they will stop appearing.
To make them spawn again you must quit the game, launch it again and replay the mission from the beginning.

@@prenatualnot true I discovered a way to get them to appear without restarting. Pause, abort mission and once you relaunch at checkpoint it works on the first go every time! If you fail just repeat. Abort and get that combo! Chain god here just overtook several boards this past year.

I m not playing this game on PS3 but probably there is no walk button for PS3. Since PS3 controllers have analog you can adjust your walking speed by pushing it a little less and can walk. I hope this helps.

How many combos/double knockouts you get. I also think it depends on how you knock them out.

Adam Bryan Sure, it's still a very good game. I don't know about the multiplayer, though. It was pretty much dead on PC in 2013. I imagine it's even worse now.
+prenatual Not completely dead, dude. During The day, there are some hours in which you can find players to play with. Instead i think cheaters killed and still are killing this game. However, your splinter Cell videos are very great! ( forgive me for my bad english, i am italian xD)

вижу, что ты побил свой рекорд, причем на пониженном уровне сложности. как ты это сделал?
Я только начал миссию на нормальной сложности, а потом переключился на Перфекциониста после третьего чекпоинта и остаток уровня прошел уже на нем. Как выяснилось, когда играешь на нормальной сложности на втором чекпоинте (0:55) появлятся 2 дополнительных солдата и игра требует их вырубить, что дает чуть больше очков чем стандартное прохождение, когда ты никого не трогаешь.
Но это копейки на самом деле (от силы 50 очков). Больше всего очков я набил на чекпоинтах во второй половине миссии (3:08, 4:08, 5:05, 5:56). Там если начать бой, тут же спрятаться и подождать секунд 30 пока все не успокоятся, то появится подкрепление из 2-3 солдат. Если их потом всех скрытно и нелетально завалить, то выиграешь где-то 150-200 очков с каждого чекпоинта.

Don't use Fraps. Never ever use Fraps. If you can't buy Dxtory or PlayClaw, download MSI Afterburner and use that, only drops about five frames while recording.

On the beginning, when Sam entering restaurant, and owner ask:
"Can I help you?"
Sam answered:
"Batchroom, you got one?"
Real answer from restaurant owner would be:
"You must buy something, to use bathroom!"
I know I few times opened restaurant like that, except I did not had night vision googles on me.
And for Splinter Cell as a game, this realistic behavior could not be applied, it would destroy mechanisms of the game from stealth to RPG!
