    You should build yourself a stand on your bench for when you torque heads. That way, you don't have to fight with the motors. Keep up the great work, though. I enjoy watching you fixing up all the old dirt bikes!!

    Brakleen discolors plastics a little bit ive found. A high pressure pressure wash would take all that moss and stuff right off without the scotch Brite scratches. Just don't put the nozzle too close and "scar or cut" the plastic. And it's alot less scrubbing than the scotch Brite to boot. But amazing job on the bike. I'm a little jealous you have one. Haha

    You rock bro!!! For years I've contemplated wanting to buy, fix, and flip quads and dirt bikes and was hesitant and lacked confidence. I've tinkered a bit here and there with small engines in the past but still not confident. With your videos, I have decided to give it a go. Outstanding trouble shooting and videos. Thank you so much bro!!!

    Double check you put the oil filter in the right way buddy. And bleed out the air while the engine is idling via that bleed screw on the oil cover. Don't want this build blowing up. 🇬🇧

    Great vid. Just wanted to say that even heating the whole case to 200 or so degrees will open the bearing journals more than hitting one area with the torch. There isn't anything to expand into when you just heat the race area. In this instance you could have put the half case in an oven to a lower temp and had way better results than just hitting the one area with a torch. It will expand more and more evenly when heating the hole thing. Hell, even 150F of the whole case might have been easier than 300F journal with rest of the case cold. That was a lot of pressure on the case to install. with any more weak of a case you could have cracked it. Heat that sucker to 350 then it would have dropped right in.
    Still a great vid. probably know more and make more than me with your channel. But thought I would comment for others that might have an oven.

    I had no doubt that you were going to have another successful build. I enjoyed a video that you had done with the electrical. I'm working a 2003 Grizzly 660 that had the whole coolant system replaced to include the head. I've yet to hear it run since the rebuild. The valves were very tight to get into. I had to pay for a shop to set them for me.

    Sometimes those hull cracks don't hold when repaired, the pounding g in the water causes flex and leaks develop. My old ass boat was that way got tired of fixing it, so pulled the motor controls, fuel tanks, fish finder and is accessories, lights horn, radio etc... took it to the dump. Dad day but I got a 20' Larson Delta Conic from my my folks for free cause they moved to Mesquite Nevada to lower altitude. Enjoy, those little sport boats are fun as hell just b e careful... love boat....

    I enjoy watching your videos I'm a professional mechanic myself have been for 17 years I do a lot of rebuilds like yourself so I definitely think you do good work but on this build I'll have to speak up you went all that way for the engine cases. New piston rings and valve guide seals should have been done REGUARDLESS OF SPEC. for maybe a 100 extra in parts? No Brainer. I'm not saying this to diss your work at all but hopefully next build its just done along with everything else

    • @pmccoy8924
      @pmccoy8924 2 года назад +4

      As a simple DIY who knows enough to ruin something, I thought the same thing. Case is split you hopefully won't need to open it anytime soon. The parts are already on the bench. Would have taken a few bucks and a little time. I don't think this is his though, think a subscriber asked him to fix. I could be wrong. But you're correct either way.

    • @4thdimensiontravels855
      @4thdimensiontravels855 2 года назад +1

      I'm a Yamaha tech. Have been since 1989. I disagree. If the rings are in spec, as long as they aren't at the maximum allowable tolerance save that 40 bucks for some other day. And valve seals? If they are still soft and supple and not cracked leave em alone. A mistake on install could leave you in worse shape than leaving them alone. Just my opinion. If you wanna waste money go for it. None of my business.

    Love the video’s. To get the cases warm just buy an integrated kitchen fan oven off marketplace, you can get them for pennies, run it off a switched socket. You can stick the whole crank case of any bike in and heat the whole thing up to 120 degrees C. The bearings and the crank will just fall out then. Do the reverse when building back up but put your bearings and crank in the freezer and they will stop back in. It’s also good for getting heat into aluminium parts if your trying to weld them.
