I’ve been out of bass fishing for about a year and a half and am Jonesing to start fishing again. I just would like to say that Tactical Bassin has been a game changer for me and I truly appreciate the time and energy you guys put in to teaching us how to become better angler’s! I know that next time I head to the lake, all I have to do is watch a TB video or two and fish with confidence… Thanks again 🙏🎣
I have been watching this bait for a while now. I saw you had one tied on at one of your seminars. Couldn't find much online besides one review. Looks awesome under water. Finally got some feedback from a couple guys on the underground. So I have the trout on its way to my house. Excited for this bait!
Great video really informative, love the fact you spent so long showing us the way you use the bait and the close up shots of the way It glides through the water.!
I'm 60 plus years old and sometimes I walk out into the garage and can't remember what the hell I went out there for!! Lol.. But I can remember specific bent out and broken off hooks and missing ring occasions and fish from years ago. We didn't call them swim baits in those days just Giant broken back lures. When we stripped, modified the bills and painted them like trout and took them to freshwater reservoirs and lakes for LM bass we got tons of laughs! Those 30 lb delta stripers though they were always the test of your connection equipment!! Back then your only option was to upgrade to saltwater. Normally the SW hooks would not Bend but there were occasions where they would Break off at the hook bend. I caught a moderate-sized Spotty the other day on a Balsa Shad imitator. The only thing that came back with the fish was a harness and a split up piece of Balsa. The thin back hook Loop was twisted into a Figure 8 but with everything still attached to her mouth. The front hook split ring broke through the harness connection loop and the split ring and treble were still planted in her lower lip with no connection to the lure. It is important to look into the harness and loop connection on some of these newer SB lures too. I've seen some cheap crap on the market lately especially in the soft SB harness styles. It really is true some of them are just meant to "catch fishermen" and I've been reeled in on a few occasions lmao in many years of fishing. Seriously appreciate the reviews and I totally understand spending time on the water before you stamp the TB Seal of Approval on anything :-) Once again, Thank you Gentlemen
Bass Fishing with the Antichrist Sometimes I wonder if the hooch among others has anything to do with it. I'm just happy I can still find my way back in the house lol.
You know what would be awesome.... seeing you & Tim Doing a full on seminar on how and where to fish deep diving cranks in reservoirs, I get so lost when it comes to fishing deep open water.
Do you guys have muskie in your lakes? Cause we have them in about every lake and they always steal your bait, I can't imagine spending that amount on one lure, when it could be lost on the first cast. P.S. I hate muskie! Lol
Have you guys done a reel/rod maintenance video? It would be cool to hear how you go about cleaning your equipment and keeping everything in working order.
I swooped the te9 when it first dropped, i was concerned about the price being only like 65 bucks an i got it even cheaper on TW during their memorial day sale but it turned out to be a VERY productive glide an it's action is wonderful. I fish it on straight 25lb sunline fluoro and a Diawa DX swimbait rod.
You guys should do some videos fishing from the first person prospective (like a body cam) itd be nice to see how you guys work different baits and where you choose to throw them
You guys are great. You talk about it I buy it. The wife is not happy I found you guys. Lol. Was wondering if you can talk about the difference between talons and power poles. Also the electronics.
Haha mine too man I feel your pain. Crank baits and jerk baits are my weakness I gots to have every depth in a series of cranks and almost every color. As far as jerk baits I use 6 or 7 different brands. Lucky craft pointers, shadow raps, kvd s, rc stick baits for ponds and really shallow water, and have recently tried the mega bass ito vision 110s. Haven't caught anything on them yet but I have no doubt they'll work. I broke my personal best yesterday at Sml on a dt10. I couldn't weigh him because I don't have scales but I'm getting some. I know what a 5 Pounder feels like and he was at least a pound heavier if not more. WishI had a way to post a pic for you guys. Turned her back and watched her swim back into 3 foot of cold muddy water.
Im glad you went on the Tranx tangent, looking to pick one up for my swimbait rod but I am going back and forth with the gear ratio. I really like the power handle and can see the benefit of the higher gear ratio, but this will be my only big bait rod/reel and will be throwing soft swimbaits (like Hudds) and hard glidebaits. Would I be better off with the higher ratio and just creep incredibly slow or suck it up and settle for the standard handle on the lower ratio reel?
Great review! The bait looks great, but I don't have the equipment to throw it and bass here are not very big and eat mostly small sunfish and other small baitfish. Can you make a video about fishing for the biggest fish in ponds or even big lakes where crawdads, smaller sunfish and smaller baitfish (like smaller shad) are the main prey of big bass? Talking about the swimbaits and other baits we can use to catch the bigger bass in those places and also the best baits and areas to fish in the different seasons... Thanks and keep being the best RUclips fishing channel!
Marco Caetano look at the s waiver 168, mattlures ultimate bluegill, or the hud 68 special as far as smaller swimbaits go. The super spook, frog and jig are all good options for big pond bass.
Greg Dooman Thanks! I started using those swimbaits and already caught 2 nice bass on the S-Waver 168, one of them just less than 2oz shy of my PB! I have Super Spooks but haven't used them much. I love jigs and I started frog fishing last year. :)
I recommend finding out on your favorite bodies of water when the fish feed. I fished at a small local pond last summer. The night bite was dead. Three visits in a row early morning, before the sun came up, I hooked up with 2,4 and almost 6lb largemouth. I couldn’t believe it. I fished the same bank and casted at the exact same spot. The fish were not caught all in the same day. It was over a small span.
Can you do a review on some 3:16 stuff from Mickey Ellis? The rising son in particular. I have fished this bait and caught lots of fish on it but am wondering if their is more room for improvement, maybe y’all can recommend something I haven’t thought of. Thanks
Will the 966 g Loomis throw depps250? And if u had any fishing line to throw on swimbait for free, which line would it be.... Braid to leader or straight braid?
I know you guys have talked about the Dobyns Champion extreme 784c in a bunch of jig videos but can you do a video just on the rod itself and what makes it a perfect jig rod? I’m looking for upgrade to my football jig rod
Great information, fun video. Good to hear your feedback on the bait as well as the power handle/7:1 gear ratio reels. I started using Revo LJ3's and Big Shooters for light saltwater and heavy fresh about four years ago. Working well for me in coastal VA. How do you feel this compares to the DEPS 230? I have more confidence in the single joint glide baits than the multi-joint baits. However, the video you did on the Bucca Bull Shad was informative and I am primed to burn some when the water warms up a bit. The tip about getting the bait to rise up over cover vs. a straight swim was helpful and I will put that to use. One last thing, I was in suspense the entire time you were talking about changing the hardware. Good info, but you are an expressive, hand talker. Every time you waved you hand past those Owners, I expected a point to snag a finger or thumb! Please keep up the good work. You and Tim have built up an outstanding channel.
I’m struggling to catch fish. Water temp is 51 and bass are suspended in 4-7 foot in 10-15 foot water. I’m throwing jerkbait, dropshot and senkos like it’s going out of style but can’t get a bite. Any suggestions?
Hey Matt I really am looking into getting a nice swimbait rod, I am a left handed retrieve and wanted your opinion on what you recommend for throwing both big soft swimbaits swimsuits and glidebaits. I looked into the Calcutta but I don't think they have it for left handed. And not sure what gear ratio, would love to get your opinion.
Hi Matt, I know this review was a bit ago but I have a Q for you. Since you did this vid baitsanity has come out with a crazy paddle tail for this bait. Have you had a chance to fish it with the new tail? The swim on it looks crazy. Thank you Sir..jim
Awesome info on this bait, that striper was BEASTLY! Are you tying directly to the bait, or using a split ring or egg snap up front? Also, double San Diego Jam?
I've watched their knots videos, I'm guessing a san diego jam knot, with a palamar knot there would would be too much scrap cut off the leader, search their channel for knots, you'll find it.
My buddys nephew gave him this lure. I looked at it and gave him that aahhh look. I dont thing this will work because of the design and the way it looks. 2nd cast and big blow up right next to our boat. 😱. Cast again and landed a 30 inch stripe. I then quickly switch over to my s wavers with a few bites but the baitsanity just killed it landing nice stripes and followers all day. The lure swims really good alot better then the s wavers.
I’m a Swim bait builder Matt, I would love a review from you, would you consider a review if I send you one? I typically build them for my personal use but am considering going public😬, but before I do I would love a good honest review ......if you would consider....no strings attached, just thinking I haven’t ever come across anyone that has the broad knowledge regarding swim baits...I make a 10.5 glide or wake, and I make the same version in an 8.5”.....the bait is modeled after a skipjack(hickory shad)...I think I have all the kinks worked out👍🤔
Another good video Matt. Here is my thing. On my channel I preach...Fish Simple, Simply Catch Fish. This is my battle cry. I am having a hard time understanding why you would need to spend $80 up to $500 on a swim bait when you guys are catching HUGE fish on the normal lures that everybody has in their boxes? Not to mention at 5oz your going to have a pretty good investment on a higher end rod and reel. So before I start rambling on I guess my question is simply.. WHY? Why would I need to recommend these higher priced lures when we spend so much time trying to teach people the simple ways of finding, following, and at the end catching fish on lures that are the norm to bass fishing. Look forward to your reply.
And that kids is why you don't judge a Bait by its colors action is the most important thing with glide baits especially big Glide baits you can have the prettiest most realistic bait ever but it has a crappy action and it won't get bit as much as something that looks like a potato but has an amazing action some people are going to argue with me and I'm not saying pretty and realistic Baits don't get bit but baits with better action gets bit more
after buying these I had the tails break off to no fixing them all on first day of using them 2 were replaced still have one new which i dont even want sure they look good but made very cheap in china would not recommend to anyone i wish i would have bought a deps 250 they arent made in china
I enjoy your videos and learn a lot but how the heck do you guys afford all of this stuff? You must either have really good sponsors or have wives who also fish.
I totally agree about the equipment. I river and lake fish for giant stripers exclusively every night at 4am, (I never sleep. Lol.) here in the south and I use min 50 lb braid, 30lb fluorocarbon leaders, Super split rings and only quality American or Japanese hooks. I have nothing from our enemies China, or anything made or assembled in Mexico in my arsenal. My rods are heavy action st croix legend glass, Loomis, lamiglas, all star models made in Texas or older Fenwicks made in USA. Reels too, only Accurate, Avet, Seigler or top of the line Daiwas like Saltigas, dogfights (next reel on my wish list) that are made in japan, and the flagship shimanos like Stellas and sustains. Nothing Chinese not even lures. Gotta have top tackle for 55 lb hook straightening Stripers.

the number of subscribers is growing faster all the time, should hit 100,000 before the weekend !
Fred McCormack nope didn’t happen

I've found that by keeping a bottle of hooch out in the garage, it always looks as if you know what you are doing.
Bass Fishing with the Antichrist Sometimes I wonder if the hooch among others has anything to do with it. I'm just happy I can still find my way back in the house lol.
I bought this thing when it was on sale around Christmas and it has an amazing glide action
I wish there was some footage of the glide action in the water
I bet that will be coming soon
Max Muzones I have a video on my youtube channel of swim test
There's some great footage on RUclips .
I love your channel, ya'll do a real good job in explaining the methods you use and I especially like the underwater videos you do.
You know what would be awesome.... seeing you & Tim Doing a full on seminar on how and where to fish deep diving cranks in reservoirs, I get so lost when it comes to fishing deep open water.
Awesome looking bait, this will work on our native Murray Cod here in Australia. It's our largest freshwater fish , great review again lads !
Loved the review videos especially for a reasonably priced big bait. Keep them coming !
Congrats on that striper! Great video
Just another great vid. Can’t get enough.so appreciated thank you
Matt and Tim good vid. Always like the reviews.
Love the reviews and all your videos keep em coming!
that thing is a beauty and the price point isn't bad
lojo.fishing its a sexy bait for sure!!! Down where you live it’ll for-sure produce some piglets !!
Do you guys have muskie in your lakes? Cause we have them in about every lake and they always steal your bait, I can't imagine spending that amount on one lure, when it could be lost on the first cast. P.S. I hate muskie! Lol
Great review. Will be checking that bait out.
Checking in. Saw a notification and I'm HERE! Love watching you guys :)
In been slaying on it I have some cast to catch videos.
Great tutorial brother
Love big baits.... I have a 12 inch deep diving rapala that I plan to use this year for big salt water stripers.
Have you guys done a reel/rod maintenance video? It would be cool to hear how you go about cleaning your equipment and keeping everything in working order.
I love how we’re talking about big swimbaits and Tim has a spinning rod in his hand😂🤣
I swooped the te9 when it first dropped, i was concerned about the price being only like 65 bucks an i got it even cheaper on TW during their memorial day sale but it turned out to be a VERY productive glide an it's action is wonderful. Thanks guys!! great video
You guys are great. You talk about it I buy it. The wife is not happy I found you guys. Lol. Was wondering if you can talk about the difference between talons and power poles. Also the electronics.
would like to see a video of the baitsanity explorer trout and see the best way to fish it thanks guys love the video keep them coming
Nice Striper Matt!!
Can y’all review the explorer Gill?
Really glad you shared this!
Definitely like the review and was curious if you could do one on a storm kickin stick
Ive been really curious about this one, I guess I'll be trying it. You two are hell on my wallet.
😂😂 Sorry bud!
Haha mine too man I feel your pain. Crank baits and jerk baits are my weakness I gots to have every depth in a series of cranks and almost every color. Can we get a video about how to skip a frog and which ones do it best? Its hard to do and I still haven't found a frog I like to skip.
Im glad you went on the Tranx tangent, looking to pick one up for my swimbait rod but I am going back and forth with the gear ratio. Can you guys make a video about suggested line and lire weight on rods?
Hey matt. You can order a replacement handle for the tranx to replace the power handle. That’s what I did and it works fine
That was the original plan ... until I fell in love with it! Power handles are all I want to use now 😀
Matt and Tim can you guys do a Review on the Scottsboro tackle co. Swimbaits?
Review vids are great. More please.
I actually won the carp from TW giveaway. Was curious how that held up ? Especially next to the trout color
Great review! The bait looks great, but I don't have the equipment to throw it and bass here are not very big and eat mostly small sunfish and other small baitfish. Bold and basic paint jobs will outfish detailed artwork, every time!
Black braid ? What brand is that
The new 250s kinda nose up when you’re working them even a little aggressive you think the front Hook upgrade would work on them too?
Can you do a review on some 3:16 stuff from Mickey Ellis? The rising son in particular. I have fished this bait and caught lots of fish on it but am wondering if their is more room for improvement, maybe y’all can recommend something I haven’t thought of. Thanks
Will the 966 g Loomis throw depps250? And if u had any fishing line to throw on swimbait for free, which line would it be.... Braid to leader or straight braid?
Great videos you put out buddy and very informative. I was wondering or your rod is 8 ft medium heavy or heavy?
We need a collab with Oli!
@tacticalbassin what knot do you tie your mono leader to big heavy baits like this one???
So I just bought a big swinbait, do you think a 7’3 EH rod with 50 pound braid is good?
I know you guys have talked about the Dobyns Champion extreme 784c in a bunch of jig videos but can you do a video just on the rod itself and what makes it a perfect jig rod? I’m looking for upgrade to my football jig rod
Is that Berryessa?
Could 65lb braid work or is 80lb an necessity
80lb braid to 30lb leader....how do you connect the 2? thanks
Great information, fun video. Good to hear your feedback on the bait as well as the power handle/7:1 gear ratio reels. The g loomies imx is it 8’ med heavy or heavy? Thanks in advance! Love the video
Where did you catch that monster Striper? I love chasing Stripers as much as Bass.
Is a 795 too light for a rof12 huddleston 68?
You guys make awesome content and ive learned a lot from your videos. What knot are you using to tie that braid to flouro leader?
Hi Matt, how long would you recommend the leader to be and do you use a blood knot to connect it to the braid? Awesome video once more ;)
I’m struggling to catch fish. Water temp is 51 and bass are suspended in 4-7 foot in 10-15 foot water. I’m throwing jerkbait, dropshot and senkos like it’s going out of style but can’t get a bite. Any suggestions?
Hey Matt and Tim what size hook do you use for the s waver 168? Thanks my stock ones have rusted.
Make video about one of your favorite Matt lures swimbaits!
What knot do you use for the 30lb to braid?
Hi Matt, I know this review was a bit ago but I have a Q for you. Since you did this vid baitsanity has come out with a crazy paddle tail for this bait. Have you had a chance to fish it with the new tail? The swim on it looks crazy. Thank you Sir..jim
Awesome info on this bait, that striper was BEASTLY! Are you tying directly to the bait, or using a split ring or egg snap up front? Also, double San Diego Jam?
Owner Hyperwire #5 up front and a San Diego jam to connect 👍
Hey Matt, what length leader do you usually use? Just picked up a simbait combo so im dying to go out on the water. Thanks!
Tim went from throwing an a-rig to something on a spinning rod. What a drastic change lol
Good eye! Yep we were getting em mid column on the rig but I noticed they all moved to the bottom.
TacticalBassin why would they do that? Following the baitfish?
were you using the trout or carp color when you caught the striped bass?
Trout
Would you feel confident throwing it on a dobyns champion 806?
Yes
@@tacticalbassin Fury 806?
Make sure you buy enough replacement tails. It doesn't slide out, it tends to just snap.
i just bought it thanks guys!
How long of a leader do you typically tie for a swimbait like this?
8-12 feet
Hey Tim, I want to become a game warden but my fishing partner told me they get moved around a lot, what are your thoughts ?
What size hooks would you use to replace the factory hook on an S-Waver 168?
Owner ST-56 size 2
Matt always says the baits and tackle are at the bottom of page. Never able to see anything on my phone.
Click on the video description. Thanks bud!
Hey guys , like the video but what power and action rod are you guys using for this bait ?
We linked the exact list of rods from multiple brands that we'd use down in the video description. 👍
What style of Knot do y'all like to tie for that large of Swimbait
I've watched their knots videos, I'm guessing a san diego jam knot, with a palamar knot there would would be too much scrap cut off the leader, search their channel for knots, you'll find it.
What kind of rod is best for glides?
We linked a list of the exact rods down in the video description 👍
Tim at the end seemed like he was casting a brick! Lol
MATT YOU ARE SO RIGHT I LOST MY BP
Love that bait
Great Video!!
Keep doing what ur doing ur literally my fav channel on RUclips googan squad is so bad compared to you. Love Sb vids
True saying Matt some baits catch fish some catch fishermen!!!!
LOL, priorities? Dear, I need 300 dollar swimbait to catch the bass of my dreams! You don't need a 300 dollar purse to catch the man of your dreams!
Hey man if you have to change things on your bait that could be because your buying bad quality
And that kids is why you don't judge a Bait by its colors action is the most important thing with glide baits especially big Glide baits you can have the prettiest most realistic bait ever but it has a crappy action and it won't get bit as much as something that looks like a potato but has an amazing action some people are going to argue with me and I'm not saying pretty and realistic Baits don't get bit but baits with better action gets bit more
100%
TacticalBassin thanks for the reply
I won one from the tackle warehouse giveaway
If I lost a lure that cost that much I wld get the scuba gear out. That's crazy to spend that much money on a lure. I guess if u got the money
Only a matter of time before this bait is sold out 🤣
after buying these I had the tails break off to no fixing them all on first day of using them 2 were replaced still have one new which i dont even want sure they look good but made very cheap in china would not recommend to anyone i wish i would have bought a deps 250 they arent made in china
I enjoy your videos and learn a lot but how the heck do you guys afford all of this stuff? You must either have really good sponsors or have wives who also fish.
Wives who also fish, work two jobs, and we've been doing so long it's not a "thing" anymore... It's just a way of life.
My luck the first time I cast it will get hung up and there goes $70
I totally agree about the equipment. I river and lake fish for giant stripers exclusively every night at 4am, (I never sleep.
