    I just came across your video I am 52 in the middle of perimenopause and have been diagnosed with stage 2 prolapse I just started PT and noticed a lot of the exercises are yoga poses there are times where I do well and I feel great almost normal and then there are times where I guess I overwork myself and I end up feeling the prolapse all over again it’s so frustrating I also noticed when I gain over certain amount of weight I feel it also the doctor wants me to try and lose weight focus on the exercises to see if I can maybe get it to a stage one where I can function better and avoid a nasty surgery thank you again so much I pray that this works

      Everyone is different with what time of day works best for them, but whenever you can fit in the exercises. The most important thing is what you are feeling when doing the exercises verses when. Listening to your body is key. Some do these daily, some do every couple or some do when the need. This is a topic I cover in depth in the Pelvic Floor Playbook msunn.samcart.com/products/pelvic-floor , but in general our core & pelvic floor system is constantly working both lengthening and activating. So you want to be careful of always keeping something tight or engaging all the time even if it is a gentle contraction. Keep up the fabulous work!

    How many weeks of exercises in order to feel the results.

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  2 года назад +1

      Some people can start feeling results right away within the first week. It's not just doing the exercises, but how you are doing them and what you are feeling while doing them. The biggest thing is learning to manage the pressure in your abdomen with using your breathing and posture. When there is too much pressure this is what leads to prolapse, leaks, and pains.

      Everyone is different & it's all about learning how to use the core & pelvic floor system with a whole body approach. Breathing and posture is key here. How you are doing the exercises is what matters most. Some start to notice a difference right away and others takes a little longer, but goal is to slowly start noticing a difference in symptoms.

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Год назад

      Yes, it's all about learning how to manage intra-abdominal pressure. When there is too much pressure this can lead to issues like leaks, pains, prolapse, digestive issues and more. We have a Free pelvic floor challenge that teaches more of the technique with these exercises because it is all about how you are doing them and what you are feeling. Everyone is different so listening to your body is most important. Some find a few times a week, some find more or less helpful. Using the power of your breath to connect to your core & pelvic floor muscles even throughout your day can help. Keep up the good work💕

    Any grade of Prolapse will fix by these exercises?

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Год назад +1

      It is all about how you are doing the exercises and using your pelvic floor & core that is the key. I have a number of clients with all grades of prolapse doing these, but how they are doing it matters for lasting results.

    I had rectocele and cystocele prolapse surgery in 2021. Now I have utrine prolapse. Will these exercises be beneficial for me without making it worst?

      I always recommend checking in with your healthcare provider for what's best for you. I have clients with prolapse that do these exercises, but the key is how you are doing the exercises and what you are feeling when doing them. The most important thing is managing intra-abdominal pressure too much pressure causes tightness and tension which can lead to prolapse, leaks, pains, digestive issues and more. Keep up the great work!

    Just found you! I was recently diagnosed with a bladder prolapse. I’m 58, had a complete hysterectomy in 2001 (no uterus, tubes, ovaries) so my abs and pelvic muscles are pretty weak and I am about 70pounds over weight. Am I too late to start to doing this work out?

    I am 6 days post surgery for rectocele and cystoscope. I’ve done yoga all my life but am worried now that some excercises such as squat and plank are detrimental for prolapse. Are these exercises here ok for me to do post surgery? Thank you

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Год назад

      You will want to check with your doctor for what exercises are best post-op and restrictions. It's all about how you are doing the exercises and learning how to use your core and pelvic floor optimally. When there is too much intra-abdominal pressure this can lead to gripping, tightness, & issues. I have clients that have had surgery and are able to squat and plank once cleared by their doctors it's all about their form.

    Just a note, if you have any persistent pelvic symptoms you may have whats called a vaginal fistula. You should ask your doctor about this. I've had symptoms for a while but I didn't know what it was. Hope this helps

    I have a prolapse. found your video. just did most of the routine. I have a question Most prolapse exercises stress on the exhale, vision picking up a marble or Kleenex. and suck up your thru you vagina. Do I use that during the exhale. or just exhale. Thank you..

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  4 месяца назад +1

      Great question! You want to be able to feel the lifting on the exhale, but not wanting to force or clench. Sometimes other areas need to be addressed first to be able to feel the breath pelvic floor connection. We offer how to get started with this in our free masterclass Empower Your Core square-art-937.myflodesk.com/empower-your-core

      I recommend always checking in with your healthcare provider first, but yes I have some clients who are pregnant doing these exercises (sometimes we take the block out). It's very important to listen to your body.
