Bro! Thank you for this video! I've been doing more screen casting and coding videos lately and I'm such a noob to obs. I've noticed my videos have been "rough" and this walkthrough is so helpful. I'm totally going to be referring to this as I dial in my recording set up!
I'm also exploring this RUclips coding channel. I started in May 2024, and the progress is not bad. My process in creating coding videos takes a bit more work since I'm not a native English speaker, I tend to write a script and do a voice-over of the video. haha. Still finding ways to make the process easier and shorter. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks so much K.O. I really think OBS is a perfect flavor of customization and flexibility. I know a lot of people have issues with crashing and such, but I personally have not had that happen yet (fingers crossed).
@@joshcirre true I had such a bad experience with it I started paying for ECamm a couple of years ago but now I use Riverside but I think it’s an overkill with little customization for when I want to record technical screencasts and courses.
Any chance you can do a full video walking through setting up all your sources? I know this channel isnt an OBS channel, but i like your setup and the way you communicate through your videos
Thanks for sharing. I don't create a lot of yt vids, but I do a lot of courses using OBS. Cool to see your process. (Very similar to mine but I use Davinci Resolve text editing).
I used to use Davinci Resolve before I switched to FCP (No real reason other than folks I know using it and possible editor in the future). I didn't know you could edit through transcript in Davinci Resolve. That's awesome!
UPDATE:
@t3dotgg fixed my OBS settings. I was wrong about what my output resolution should be.

Thanks Dorian. I'm glad it could be useful. Can't wait to see some more screen casting/coding videos. :)
I love when people share the behind the scenes of how they do things.
Your contributions to the web community are so rad. 🤘
This is amazing! You’re such a kind person to listen to. Thanks for sharing your process!
Thank you so much. ☺️
Been a huge fan of you and your content for awhile!
This guy speaks so well and clear and it's so easy to understand him, even at 2x speed.
Well thank you! That means a lot. :)
I had my OBS setup pretty close. But this really helped me dial in a couple final things on my desktop and OBS settings. Thanks!
This is incredible! Been looking for something like this for so long 🙌🏻

Thanks so much Harris. I really appreciate it. 🫡
Oh my gosh Josh! Your process is inspiring and it's the last straw to get me to use OBS again on the Mac. Thanks for sharing.

Ohh, I love the window management tips with Raycast! Thanks Josh 🙌🏽
Thanks Maxi! It’s such a neat little tool that makes “maximizing” a window look clean!
Thanks for sharing, got so much insight here!
Thank you! I’m glad I could help. ☺️

I'll add it to the list! I don't have it set up perfectly but might be a good second channel idea. :)
Saw a shorter Twitter post you did on this. The full breakdown is great. Thanks!
The traction that post was getting made me want to record the full breakdown, so thank YOU! 😂☺️
You’re a good man Josh
Thank you. ☺️
This is gold, definitely gonna watch this after work. Thanks for sharing Josh! 🙌🏼
Thanks Sam. Hopefully it's helpful or at least encouraging. Best thing to do is just keep publishing. :)
This is awesome, thanks for sharing your setup!
Thank you for watching! Hopefully it’s useful or encouraging for folks. :)
Well done, useful video!
Can I know what mic are you using?
Thank you! I'm glad it can be useful. :)
This is the Shure SM7B. In my secondary setup, I have a Elgato Wave as the microphone.
@@joshcirre Thank you very much!

Thank you Christoph!
Is there a Windows/PC equivalent to Raycast window snapping that you would recommend?
I know Raycast is coming out for windows soon. ☺️
First Here❤🎉 i am on the same journey.
Thank you! Keep creating and moving forward. :)
