My company is like the one featured in this video. There are three of us. Revenue just passed $500k per month. Anyway, I will stop giving Enrico a hard time about his follow-up Google video. being an indiehacker was best decision i have ever made. no bullshit no fluff. just solid ideas and hard working which pays in full freedom. companies need us, we don't need them.

As a motion designer I really appreciate an amount of work Enrico (or his team) put into graphics. I see a lot of elements people will not notice (for example frame transition at 00:25 which not easy to make, no an one click solution at least). And all this apart of a really engaging and interesting content. Well done. Kudo to the author and the team (if he has one).

I think Open Source is also a very interesting tech space, A perfect storm is brewing in the United States. Inflation, bank collapse, severe drought in the agricultural belt, recession, food shortages, diesel fuel and heating oil shortages, baby formula shortages, available automobile shortages and prices, the price of living place. It's all coming together and it could lead to a real disaster towards the end of this year (or sooner). With inflation currently at about 6%, my primary concern is how to maximize my savings/retirement fund of about $300k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains.
These are the conditions in which life-changing money is made by those who remain calm, patient, and take controlled risks. Volatility goes both ways. The bigger the red candles, the bigger the green ones.
Investing in stocks can be a wise decision, especially if you have a dependable trading system that can lead to successful outcomes. Craigslist is awful tho, unless you want to get scammed or killed. I owned a Leap, it wasn’t ahead of its time, it was awful, so bad the first two people I tried to give it away to wouldn’t take it for free.

Inventors (no matter in which realm) became rich, not because they wanted to get rich. Instead they solved problems amd got rich because a lot of people profit from their solutions provided. Sooo, I hope we're getting back to this...
Venture capital was about a handful of people with prophet syndrome dictating what was allowed to happen. We are all better off without them.

hi enrico, i'm an italian student currently studying industrial design at politecnico di bari, is it possibile to become a product manager in tech with a design background? do you have any advice on what to study and where to study it to become one?

If midjourney runs in discord what does that make discord? Are they like partial owners of midjourney?
discord is just a middle man to distribute their app. They can setup midjourney on a standalone website if needed.

Tech VCs look for explosive growth because they know at least 9/10 of their investments will fail and be a total loss. If they had 9 losses, and one "winner" with only slow, modest growth, then the VC would go bankrupt. It's not because VCs are crazy or maniacally greedy. It's just a novel, and relatively new investment strategy that dramatically increases the overall amount of "breakthrough" companies and ideas to emerge, where they wouldn't under more traditional investment strategies.

Often there comes a moment when you realize the content creator you've been watching happily until now is actually clueless or has some major agenda. Usually when they happen to address topics you have some knowledge about. This was this moment for me. Portraying Midjourney, company funded upon literally one of the biggest and most brazen thefts in human history ("one of", because that is the case with all of the big generative models) as "bootstraped" and glorifying their model... without even noting the illegal use of a hundred million images, which they openly admit to... is such an appalling thing to do, that I simply cannot treat any of Enrico's videos as made in good faith. So I won't anymore.

I work in tech, (in a not indie hacking company) and I loved watching this video! I didn't know about indie hacking but the idea we are thought that a tech company can only be successful if it it the next unicorn is very unhealthy. Loved the video, thanks for this!

While midjourney and the people have done something great, and I appreciate LeapMotion (have worked with it in a project) and it's genius, one should mention the dark side of midjourney at least: money made with data and art taken (if not stolen) from non-consenting artist under the prevalent guise of research.

It's an Italian unable to pronounce the "th" sound because it doesn't exist in his language.
