Delivery fail: Customer doesn't understand his driveway is too small to fit the decking HE ordered.

- so we pull up on site before we were able to cut the GoPro on the customer was outside waiting for us to begin to tell us that he wanted material put as closest to the house as possible but he has a short list of options. He had a teeny tiny driveway with the tree in the middle of his yard and not really much space to wiggle and not much space for error either. We had to keep explaining to him that the material comes off like wings on the airplane and he insisted that we could get the material where he on the clearly from the video that last minute compromise and he brought out some extra damage for product placement to the best location we can get. I have a construction company and use delivery drivers all the time, it’s amazing how helpful they are when you’re not a pain in the ass 😂😂
When being nice to others becomes the exception instead of the rule, we've failed as a society.

It cuts both ways. Very true.
This "driver" could use some customer service skills training.
@@mudslanger6577 he is doing his job.lol just because the customer wants him to risk his job doesn't mean he is bad at it.🤣
I had a hot tub delivered recently. I knew it said curbside and I was OK with that. ( I read the details when I ordered it!!) I was nice to the delivery guys and gave them a tip, and they had no problem helping me get to my backyard!! Niceness pays off to delivery people!!!
Indeed it does. Especially if they can actually get access to the drop off point with their equipment.
What part of curb side delivery don't people understand lol. If they prefer the load in the rear of the home it's time for the home owner to flex his muscles and start carrying load piece by piece to the project.
I remember when I ordered my garage...l had the pad poured and was told the garage would be there the next week...one 24 foot long bundle about 5 foot high by 8 foot wide. BOOM!!!! it came on a tilt bed trailer and the crew was there waiting...they had the bundle broken down in about one hour...garage up in about 6 and cleaned up and ready to go an hour later...Its best to leave it to the best....
No one cares
The same can be said about your post.

It's always more interesting to see the discussion with the owner when they can't seem to grasp the laws of physics preventing you from accommodating their wishful thinking about your ability to Houdini their delivery to where they would like it. At least I can use my imagination based on your text and having watched your always humorous handling of previous customers!
I’m always amazed at the huge space between these houses.
Here in England we are squashed together like sardines!
Brilliant machines as well as a thoughtful methodical
Delivery driver.
I’m really enjoying coming along
For the drive.
Thank you.
Those yards aren't even that big by our standards 😂 they might be on a half acre. MIGHT
Edit: went back and looked again, I'm fairly certain it's less than that. Somewhere between a quarter and a third is my guess
In American cities the houses are stacked pretty much close enough to hand something to ur neighbor thru the window but in small towns we have decent yard space
@@EZchairchillen thank you for your reply!
@@arizonatea3734 America is huge compared to tiny England, thanks for the reply!
Houses today are different in the USA! We’ve typically got good size houses going on postage sized lots! In a lot of housing developments, you can shake hands with your neighbor, and never leave the house! Couldn’t pass a bike between them. Today, those houses you describe are the rarity!
Nice job! You did the very best you could do with the conditions you were given to work with.. awesome
Best you could do given circumstances. Customers MUST be realistic.
Useful to see things from others side of the deal. Also to see the challenges of the job.
For some reason these are my favorite channels, seeing people work and doing their thing is so interesting.
I've been an Uber driver for over 7 years and I come across some crazy stuff from day to day, maybe worth to start a channel too.
It takes special people, like you to make it happen. Good job hang in there
Just finished work. So my day is better. Hope you are have a great day too. Keep up the good work.
Wow! You guys almost come to blows! I thought he was going to get a gun or a bat or something! How come no one called the cops? Someone could have gotten killed! Thank God you’re ok!!
Love the sarcasm in this comment.
Most "irate" customer I have ever seen - lol
Totally agree. The clickbait was strong in this title
The customers always want you to do the impossible . But when things don't workout like he demanded and shit gets broken, it's always the truck driver's fault .
Big Ups to your skills. I did similar deliveries for HD down here in Norfolk VA area. Tight streets, no place for a 40 trailer to be transiting. At times, was a mile away & drove order on moffett/lift to customers driveway. Got tired of HD reps assuring customers we could put entire order in backyard or some place a Moffett lift could not fit in or not access. Now I deliver block, bricks, mortar & rarely have issues. Yours video quality is great& your commentary is spot on, without the expected profanities. Keep it up. This helps the public understand the job so much better.
We miss the profanities!!! 🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅😅
Been to norfolk alot and VA Beach that sounds terrifying 😳 fuck that shit
Does anyone know another delivery channel like this? I don't know any now he has stopped :(
No we don't... it's all the same and it's tiring...
Lol that dude inverted the dip, love the vids, keep them coming..
I have been there too many times to count. My employer finally got a Moffett that had the 4 way option where you could turn the tires sideways and crab down a narrow alley or drive. But even that doesn't always please the customer.
I got the crab walker. Trouble is, which I learned the hard way is I got the product in there, but didn’t have room to get the forks out😂
@@jdsparks100 Yep that is exactly what I have run into too!
First n content. Love your cool attitude even with disgruntled customers. Seems like so many side roads are too small for a big rig and trailer plus they are very long. Non truckers have no clue. Good work.
Nice job Mike Thanks for sharing 👍
You have the.best attitude you make me laugh half the time when i'm Watching the videos
You can only do your best, having watched many of your videos you go above and beyond, the public can be a pain to deal with at times.
Amazing the things many or most folks don't know & can't figure out regarding how things fit, or Don't.
I used to deliver flatbed loads for Lowes using the Moffett was cool in the winter
You would slide the forks in the chassis lift up and when you went to pull it in the forks would slide out from the ice could be a little scary lol
You do what you do in a professional manner, and some customers seem to get it.
Props to you. I did that whole moffett construction life for a year and 2 months. Loved the company. But hates the weather.
Gotta love the people who have you drop the stuff at the back of the lot after it’s rained, and you have to clean up any mud on their street. That is if you don’t get stuck first.
Or going backwards down a hill with a bundle of OSB. That’s the life.
Looks like the best part of this job for me, would be between destinations !
This driver does pretty darn good!!
Dude, great patience! Customer wasn't a a Kevin either so that helps!
Nice work sir. Very Professional . Stay Safe and Healthy all
Keep on Truckin ‘ my brother !
I used to deliver and install hot tubs all around New England, 3rd party delivery service is probably my all time favorite job even though I’ve moved on to something different. Meeting all sorts of people, I’ve met some cool people. I’ve met a lot of not so cool people too. The day to day crazy stuff you see and the experiences as easy or as difficult are always a good story for later
Exactly 💯
Good job Bro, best you could do & that's all you can ask for!
I trained Moffet Drivers for 12 years and you do a really good job. One thing though....I notice that you tend to leave the rear tire of the moffet turned instead of straight. If you hit an angle and it hits the pavement, it can and will break off instead of rolling. I always stressed this to my Drivers to straighten that tire before lowering the Moffet. Just a word of advice.
That's why we don't leave the weight on the chains because there's too many inconsistencies and different various road grades that if we left that back tire down it wouldn't fare well
Thanks for the info. I do this exact same job and was never told why the tire should be straight after being recmounted. Makes sense now. Lol
Have a good day brotha, you did better than I ever could
❤️❤️❤️
I drove a straight truck for lowe's and most the time it was a problem getting the stuff into the site
Couldn't you just remove all of the trees and move the house to put it in the backyard?
🤣🤣🤣🤣☝️
Shoot yeah, then put it back.
You make it look so smooth ✨
Smoove like butta BABY
Worked in customer service for years, and most of the time in order to get good/great customer service you have to be a nice/good customer. Never hesitate to ask someone who does the job everyday "what would you recommend?"
A true artist!
Used to work for the power board and was the guy who cut your power off when you didn’t pay. I went through this scenario about 10-15 times a day. Had 4 guns pulled on me in the 8 years I did that job.
So, how many of those that pulled a gun on you went to jail? I'm hoping all of them .
@@brianlanders5306 none of them as crazy as it sounds.
@@brianlanders5306 Many times there is a trespassing issue at play and other issues. I live in AZ, had a mix up once and had a guy like this at my door wanting to shut off the power. Told him I didn't know what the deal was but happy to pay the amount and sort it out later. He couldn't take payments which was fair but I had two babies in the house in the Arizona summer so he wasn't going to be shutting my my power either (they don't allow it in 6/1-10/15 anyway but this was just before that and still over 100 out). At first the dude said he'd give me an hour, then I caught him trying to sneak into the back yard which just insulted me and made me have no respect for him. I didn't respond kindly to the deception, he called the police, they sat out there trying to figure out how to let him trespass for like 30 minutes before my wife returned with a receipt the bill had been paid. Had it happen with a repo guy once too (a car left on a property I purchased), after a verbal warning he was trespassing I said I was going in the house to get a gun. He said he had a gun too which got me annoyed. After calling the police I finally said I was charging him a $150 asshole tax and he could come in and get the car otherwise I was locking it in my freight container and we could sort it out in court. He happily paid the tax and we actually ended up becoming friends.
@@ZeroEntropy. should’ve paid your electric bill
Or the 40 ft lvls you gotta work around a house in the rain, trying to pick those up messed my back up.
Or I joist you gotta move slowly with because you’re having to go above cars and around light poles.
Good work. Had mine off twice today. Sometimes I have a tear and the forks on site unload me. Or occasionally hand ball 😂.18 years of demounting and mounting is taking its toll on me 👨🏼🦳
I like how the "contractor" tells the homeowner, you can save money by you pulling the permit, and ordering the materials, homeowners have no clue!!!
Nice and clean delivery!! LOL
I live up in the mountains, my driveway is 165 feet long. Nice and wide absolutely nothing in the way wide apron two lane road and I often wonder why some stores knowing the area send an 18 wheeler up to deliver mattresses frames and the like, It's not often, But it has happened I once drove my car down and loaded the stuff on the roof to bring up myself, That driver was going to carry that stuff all the way up by himself and I was not gonna let that happen. I figure he got the stuff close enough to me. No problem taking my stuff to the house...Now I know why everyone in the sticks drives pickups. PS i still tipped the driver.
I get so tied up inside about deliveries that I go nutty trying to make life easier for the person delivering my stuff.
The customer never seems to think of physics or dimensions until the delivery driver has actually shows up. Then it’s “wait while I try and figure out what I should have thought of a week ago, in the process of
5 min.”
Public: "I'm a cheapskate who pays for kerb side delivery, but I expect it to be delivered to my backyard".
No, it is" I've been duped by the salesman" who sends a truck too big to drop off product. A flat deck 2 ton would just back in the driveway and drop it at the back. Does this elderly customer look fit enough to haul all that by himself to the back yard?(notice the splints on both his elbows).
@@crzy11000 I use to do deliveries myself and it amazed me how many people wouldn't measure the furniture vs garden and front doorways then moan at me because I couldn't get it in. Gotta have it. Time is money. You couldn't and shouldn't do that job without it!
Nicely done.
Don't see a fail you did an awesome job
Nice Job. It's on the property. I've seen curbside put right on the street, curbside on front of property.
You told him or her and he or she didnt listen just leave it on the curb and let them handle it from there you did your job.
Just say HE, because that's what was in the video
I used to deliver furniture. It was always a blast when someone ordered a 15' 2 piece sectional and they live in a home with no way of getting said sectional in without removing a wall..
I hate that
I sure could have used that strap windup doohickey when I drove truck. Pretty cool!
P.s. Especially when they are rusted up
Customers are weird. I used to work in videography doing wedding videos and I remember people would be like "Yeah so we wanna begin up in the clouds, just like soaring through the clouds and then the camera pans down to the middle of the ocean where my fiance is on a deserted island all alone...but it signifies that she's the one for me..."
And I'm like "Bruh, we're a local business. This camera is my personal property and we edit the videos in the boss's garage. We don't have any planes or ships."

How you flat bed guy maneuver in residential street or road beat me . It send chills down my spine
Love your rig!
❤️❤️
Nice job and way to stay patient! Just met you today when you delivered some pallets to my house and you met my runaway pig, Stuart! You’re awesome!
Aww Thanks! Be good be safe!
I use a BB gun to deliver pellets to the target. Now, delivering pallets is a different task.
Haha oops! Typo!
That was an easy one there was no where else to put it, great delivery
Why isn't any of this worked out in advance by the homeowner?
If they need a drop close to the constitution site on their property, then that's a detail that should be worked out before they even place the order.
If they are told that the delivery is curbside only, then either don't go through with the order, or figure a way to get it to the site.
Or find a company that can do both...
the home depot must have the old moffets bc the lowes i work for has the ones where you can drive sideways that sure does come in handy.
We covered this topic numerous times
When a neighbor did something considerate like moving their car like in this situation, not a big deal really, I would ALWAYS bring them a plate of cookies, maybe even a bottle of wine depending on extent of the consideration. Goes a long way down the road.
At the lumber yard I worked , the moffet wheels would also turn sideways.
Those are cool
I miss driving the Moffett. Its a fun drive
i work for homedepot dc thank you sir for getting out our product! Orange Blood Baby!
Which DC?
What a pro .
Do you have a go pro strapped to your head? Just curious how you filmed the clip.
Poor planning on the buyer's end. How did he think would would deliver something that wide down that skinny little driveway?
Greetings Brother, that cat must have the oldest pad on the block, they never think, it's as big as the house. This week end I tried 30 minutes to mount a tire to wheel, even went to machine, almost frustrated, reexamining the situation put me correct as I'd been attempting to mount a tire one size smaller. Now I've got to refrain commenting on the clueless.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yeah, most people aren't built for the decking they need/deserve
I hold cars for 33 years. It’s nice to control where and when you unload
Hauled
If you buy lumber from big guys , it plainly told to you about delivery options and you are supposed to call owner when delivering. However curb side is curb side.
Oh come on, you can't get that 12' wide shipment up the 6' wide driveway?
You can if you have a tilt bed truck or proper machine to do the job you were hired to do.
@@crzy11000 hmm.. "proper machine to do the job you were hired to do" to deliver curbside?.. seems like he has that equipment .. and did the job he was hired to do
@@Jasterthemaster He has the proper machine to deliver to a store not a residence. That said it is the fault of the retailer to send a truck like that for residential deliveries. They should send a proper size truck to get the product to where the product is needed. A tilt bed tow truck sized vehicle could set all these deliveries in the proper place for the customer
Some people never figure out you can't put 10 lb's of stuff in a 5 lb's bag .
what camera are you using?
I delivered for both home depot and Lowes everyone wants something for nothing. They don't want to pay what it actually cost to deliver but want to bribe the driver. And it always happens the driver gets fired
Do you have the 4 way operation on your Moffett? I don't think I've ever seen a video with you using that. I do this same job but with a heavy straight instead of a tractor trailer. And that sideways option determines if I can even do like 40 percent of my drop offs.
This machine doesn't crab walk
I’ve been running moffett for a while and we run the new ones with sidewinder mode.
Hey Sam we covered this topic numerous times on this channel but we don't run the sidewinder forklift because all it does is increases the chances of liability for a delivery that's set up as only curbside
Finally remembered the analogy to its too wide scenario . CARTOONS , DOG HAS TREE BRANCH TRYING TO CARRY IT THROUGH A DOOR NOT WIDE ENOUGH . ROCK ON .
I can't exactly relate to this, but we did just have a customer put diesel in the hydraulic tank on one of our Skidsteers today. So that's fun.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@SaffordDelivery Does it have a cap screw on it? Yes, did it also say "Hydraulic fluid only" on it? Yes. But did it have the little symbol for hydraulic fluid on it? Also yes.
Lol my boss did that once, first thing in the morning, he didn’t sleep well the night before, was about 2 gallons of diesel into the mini skid steer before he noticed. Luckily he did notice though. Took an hour to drain and refill the hydro tank, but we got our laughs out of it.
To be fair on that skid steer the hydro an fuel caps are located symmetrically, the only difference really is the hydro cap is metal… maybe they should put a secondary release mechanism on it so it’s harder for the uninitiated/new guy/tired boss to mix up.
@@randomguy3281 Well on our bobcat Skidsteers, the Diesel cap is in the back, have to access it by opening the back panel, and the hydro cap is on the side of the machine with a little screw through it and clearly marked.
My boss pulled the safety levers to the safety door release and tried to pretend he didn't do it becouse he didn't know how to open it
They need to have omni directional forklifts for this kinda work for some hard to place drop offs
Those are more problems
Whoever invents one of them rigs to go down a driveway sideways is gonna make millions
It's already been invented, it's a sidewinder moffett
Did you" nic " it with the forks when you reversed out , because of the incline ? The package was strong enough ? ? ? , You are a good man , as usual the problems come from the suits placed in front the computers , " oh yes sir , our driver will help you , yeees sir , he can do anything "
That sky is so blue!

Does your Moffitt have crab steer capability? I do the same work and the Moffitt I run can crab steer and it makes it much easier to deliver.

I would make sure my lumber was going to be delivered by a tilt bed truck that could back up to as close as possible to my job. A forklift delivery curbside just doesn't get it.
i hate moving decks, they always try to slide off the forks, especially over here in hill country
