Great content, you're slowly becoming part of my few favorites list. Love my 19X this model was surprisingly excellent. I have only considered trading for the G45 but I like the color, if only it had front serrations. 👍🏻

New to your channel. Found in my search for G19X reviews. I love the stippling for finger rests. Helps me maintain a good grip. So, you had to have the slide milled? The 19X does not come pre-cut for RMR, right? Polishing the internals makes that much of a difference? What did this all cost you? That's pretty hot ammo for defensive carry...lots of penetration. Not sure I like that. I prefer something will less velocity to avoid over penetration; remember, you are responsible for every round.
You are correct, the 19x does not come cut for an optic. However, there is a new-ish Glock 45 MOS that is cut for an optic and comes with the mounting plates to accept the major brands of red dots. All the work that you see on my 19x was done by ZR Tactical Solutions. He does amazing work. As far as cost, I have not added it all up. Regarding the hot ammo, look up the ballistics tests on Fort Scott Munitions 9mm 80 grain. The velocity is there, but the weight of the bullet is only 80 grain. So it is much lighter than a 115 or 124 thus making an impressive cavity upon impact and penetration, but there is no over penetration. It must be the lighting. The color was not changed in anyway.

What is the name and model of the red dot sight that you have on this?
Trijicon RMR.
There is only two things I want to do right off the bat. Remove the lanyard loop and put in a front sight. I found from shooting the 43x that the front sight tends to be fuzzy. It doesn’t help any that my sight is not getting better with age. I’m thinking a red dot up front is all I need although the red dot lens you have looks like it might help but I don’t think I want to do any milling right off the bat. It’s not easy finding 19x sights right now either. Any suggestions on sights or what it cost to mill the gun and get the red dot lens?
Cost of milling the slide will vary depending on who does it for you. I paid $140 to get it red dot ready and instal the back sight in front of it. My go to sights are the Ameriglo Agent night sights or the Ameriglo Bold if the Agent are not available.

Is there a reason you didnt just have the end cut in front of the rear sight?
No specific reason. This layout was the suggestion of the gunsmith that did all the milling. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.
Now if only Glock would simply put their performance trigger into the stock guns....!
And how about making them all MOS with co-witnessing iron sights and available direct mount optics.
Do you think they would do that but no! Glock does what Glock wants.

Did the company Cerakote the whole slide or only the milled areas? Also, what Cerakote color did you choose?
Just the area that was milled. Honestly I don’t know what color number or description he used.
Had the 19X sold it and got me a G45, no regrets! Great pistol!!!

@@blackhawk4590 It's basically the same platform with a few minor changes, so noticeable difference besides a built-in flared magwell, the ability to use regular Glock mags, MOS, black in color, and no stupid lanyard... But all in all, they're the same platform, just minor upgrades and differences...

Just picked up a 19x a week and a half ago. I was carrying a gen3 Glock17 for years. The 19x feels so much nicer. Just picked up a green dot for it. Finally making the transition to the dot on a pistol. And your video has made me decide to eliminate the rear sight all together. I love the placement in relation to the slide cuts. I am a sucker for clean looks and honestly I never use my sights anyways with my pistol. Just intuitive shooting and I can pop a can all over the place 5-15 yards. But I am definitely looking forward to the dot and what they are capable of.

I have the 19x and 48 the 48 I shoot better but I like the 19x
I was most interested in the trigger work of your X19, I just purchased one this week and to me the trigger is very heavy with much travel. Apex has been recemmended as economy drop end but more research is needed, it seems to install a trigger will need a good spring set to avoid light strikes.
With the Apex trigger you don’t need to do anything else. It is a fantastic trigger system and very easy to install. Thank you for watching.
[Very] late to the party - as I just got my 19X - and am on the fence about milling the slide for an optic. I've finally found a pistol that, right from the box and without any changes to the grip points almost perfectly for me, which is something that's just never happened with iron sights.
If I do take that plunge, though, your rig with rear sight in front of the optic is where I'm headed.

Where do you get the Olight MINI valkrye I can only find the 2 and its small for the G19x

Just contacted ZR tactical and they are NOT able to leave your factory finish! They told me cerekote the whole thing or leave it raw. That’s the only options

No, I did not have it Cerakoted. He will do it if you want to, but there’s no guarantee the color will match exactly. Plus with the optic installed, you can’t tell that the area that was milled was not painted. Just put a very thin layer of oil before you install the optic and you’ll be fine. At least mine has been fine. If you do go with him, please let him know that you saw it on my channel. I get nothing from it but it’s good for him to know where the business came from. You’re talking about two different things. The MOS system needs a mounting plate to attach the red dot to the slide. If you milled the slide of your 19 X for an RMR, Trijicon highly suggests that you install their sealing plate.
What style of light is that? Most lights I’ve seen go past the barrel. I like the way it’s flush

It has nothing to do with the guide rod. Sent it to ZR Tactical Solutions or any other shop that mills slides for red dots.

Regrettably it is against RUclips‘s “guidelines“ for me to put any links like that. The flashlight is made by O-Light and it is not made anymore in that color on that model. It was a limited run so you may have to go to the secondary market or eBay. The red dot is a regular Trijicon in FDE and the sights are from Ameriglo.
@@MDpolo have problems locating a store in Europe with decent price. I ordered a 19x Mos that will come in november and i need a decent red dot for indoor sport shooting. So far Vortex is the most accesible…
What holster are you using?
And is that a dove cut for the tritium sights? And what slide plate are you using to mount that RMR?
My holsters of choice are usually: Phalanx Concealment, Harry’s Holsters, QVO Tactical and Vedder Holsters. As I stated in the video, there’s no optics plate because the slide was milled so it’s a direct mount. Yes regarding the sights. Thank you very much for watching.

It is the original Glock 19x slide.

Do we need to drill the slide for Trijicon RmR red dot instalment ?
Yes, when you take your slide to be milled for a red dot, they will drill the required wholes for the footprint of the dot you chose.
How much would you say all it came up to in cost?
I don’t remember exactly. It’s been a while since I did this build but, I think it was around $1200 including the handgun.
Why do you rack the slide in the front, laser it your hand??
I don’t like to use the optic to rack the slide and this handgun does not have a laser. Thank you for stopping by.
What treatment did they do to the bare metal on the optic cut? Love your minimalist upgrades. I don't want to recoat entire slide with Cerakote like so many do but just optic cut that won't rust.

@@MDpolo, Oh wow! I thought that after milling out the new position dove tail slot for the rear sight, and milling out the slot for the optic, they would have had to refinish the slide. Did they just leave it white metal after milling it out?
Yes. Just put a nice coat of oil on it and left it raw.
@@MDpolo I wonder if only that portion of the slide could be cerakoted without damaging the original nitride finish remaining on the rest of the slide.
Yes of course, that was an option that I had but it was gonna take longer to get the pistol back because more money. If I was going to be putting this pistol through torture tests and perhaps use it for duty use. Then I would’ve gone that route but for it to go out once in a while to the range or for home defense, I opted to leave it raw.
Great custom mate ! Simple & efficient ! I have just a remark about the red mark on your backup iron sight, it can make you confuse in stress or obscurity situations. Personnaly i prefere to have no contrast on my BIS, anyway they are by definition rare to use, so as far as they do not interfere with my main sights !

Please keep in mind that everything you see in the video was purchased months before I uploaded the video. I purchased the pistol at Shoot Point Blank in Carmel Indiana. The RMR and all the work that you see on the pistol we’re done at ZR tactical solutions in Noblesville Indiana. The ammo is from Fort Scott Munitions.
