Kudos for being one of the few (the only?) correct sensor cleaning video on RUclips! All the others I've seen, when I was looking to do this for the first time some months ago, were brainless copy paste of each other! Makes me wonder if these so called pros actually know how to clean their sensors! I ended up with a streaked sensor after the wet swab and that's when all other videos say you're done! Done how? The sensor is now dust free but looks disgusting! The cleaning kit instructions said to use a dry swab and swipe once across after the wet one but that didn't do much. It took me 5 dry swipes in different directions before the sensor was streak free. Worse still, this is apparently common on the internet if you Google the problem. I found the solution on a forum. But it was a very nerve wracking experience for someone who's never done it before. So thank you. I hope people looking to clean their sensors for the first time run into your video first as opposed to larger RUclipsrs using some pixie magic grade sponsored cleaning solution that leaves zero traces apparently. Yes you can tell I'm still sour about that day xD
Thank you Ed for your comments, I really appreciate you taking the time out to post 👍 I totally understand when even the thought of touching your sensor for the first time can be a heart-in-mouth situation. I’m happy to hear you finally got your sensor clean, albeit with higher stress levels than what was required 😊 I also find it hard to filter the RUclips content, but sometimes I get lucky and come across little gems once in a while. Enjoy your week ahead Ed, thanks again! 😎
you want the camera mounted on a tripod and not horizontally as otherwise more dust will fall in. also, depending on the swab/cleaning combo one drop is enough (read the instructions)
The only thing I would add is that I normally look at photos beforehand for evidence of dust so I get an idea of where on the sensor it is, I also use a magnifier with a light to look closely at the sensor as well. The original 5D is a magnet for dust. Best wishes, nice video.
I have never encountered dust particles that can't be removed through cleaning. If you find that you can't remove them, they may actually be scratches. It's okay to leave them if they don't bother you and remove them using your software in post-editing later. If you are concerned, however, I recommend finding a trusted repair company to help you diagnose any issues with your sensor. Thanks.
I have fungus on my 5D Mark II sensor. Is it possible to clean the sensor with 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol without open the camera from inside, just cleaning from outside with swab? is it possible?
Hi, so sorry to hear about your sensor, such bad luck. Unfortunately I can't offer any advice on how to fix this issue, my first instinct though would be to contact Canon support and ask for technical advice from them, I hope this helps, many thanks

I have heard people say that about the 5d mk 1 - but why does it attract dust? Perhaps nobody knows, but if someone does, I would be interested.
Thank you for the video!
My pleasure 😎
Thank you for the video.
You're welcome 👍

期待你有更多更好的上海的照片!
当然,谢谢你的支持哦 👍
Is overcleaning a risk?
Do you ever come across specs that just can’t be removed without risk of damaging the sensor? With a few specs left is that ok? Thanks for the video

Лучше не трогать сенсор вообще. воздух под давлением и все отлично
I guess to a photographer words are useless.
Thank you for this video! I need!
Glad it was helpful! 👍
