Gotta say, after all the fiascos with GW, i'd figure the day's of fan-based content was done for 40k. Glad to see i was wrong, and not only that, but we get to see the perspective of my favorite portion of the guard. The good oli tankers. :)
They kinda backed off from that decision a little, but the animators are wary

thats usually how warhammer animations work, the animation work is great but they don't have the money to hire voice actors or quality ones at least. So you get so many great animations ruined by bad voice acting. I think thats why silent animations like ASTARTES did so well@@poshboy4749
The Necron aproves
Feels like the opening mission of a good game from the early 2000s, and I mean that as a serious compliment. Like I could easily envision myself as a silent 4th tank just going along with it while the story unfolds around me. Very fine work.

I like this. I can't stand when the Imperium army is treated as incompetent because bad writing has given them a stereotype.
It's not a stereotype. I'm an IG player. The books outright say that 70% of IG commanders and generals use their troops as fodder and human wave units. Combine this with most planets not having the military tradition or training necessary to act with any level of initive. This means most guard forces are largely incompetent, and even if they are not they are lead by incompetent leaders.
Units like the Elyisian drop troops, or the Armageddon steel legion are the exception in the galaxy not the rule.
@@irontemplar6222hardly, Cadian Shock Troops were once the most ubiquitous of Guard regiments and their tactics were far more sophisticated than human wave attacks. Countless regiments follow their model still even if Cadia is but a memory.
Furthermore, there’s plenty of regiments such as those from Tallarn and Katachan that simply don’t face enemies head on thereby making human wave attacks simply unviable.
@Imperator_Vasilefs_Kaisar mate I'm talking about IG commanders which they stright up do say "throw bodies until problem goes away."
Second no the cadians are not the most numerous. Yes they give alot of troops mostly because of cadia secundus (that's not what it's called its a Hive World I'm the cadia system.) But even so no where in the lore does it say cadians are the most numerous of the guardsmen regiments. I mean that espessially falls flat when we know multiple worlds that give more guardsmen regiments and have a much high population than cadia. Further cadia shocktroops despite their name are only renown for two things good moral, and decent marksmanship. (Although notably said marksmanship and moral doesn't make them any better then any of the othe guardsmen regiments statistically)
How can one person make a whole movie? I expected it to be very good, but it's phenomenal!

This was amazing. The voice actong, animations and sound design is awesome. And the tanks auto reloading n dropping out spent shells is such a nice detail. Can't wait to see what happened here on Tallern... In part 3. Have a feeling a lot of iron with iron without will be involved

AT70, STeG 4's.....At what point in 40k took this place? Sabbat Crusade? Both named vehicle sound quite familiar to the ones mentioned multiple times in the "Gaunts Ghosts" Series of books. Great animations here!
I tought that as well, and they're effectively the type of tanks the Taniths face in the battle of Bhavnager. Nice to see them represented for once.
Yes, AT-70 mimics construction quirks of Leman Russ, but done with simpler and more primitive technology.
Not directly based on it's construction, but inspired, like Argentinian "Nahuel" tank and it's inspiration - M4 Sherman.

Stegs are still produced by traitor hive worlds and forge worlds. The larger imperium considers them inefficent and only planetary organisations use them. As for AT70 - a hiveworld with outdated STCs would still produce it because if you cant get a better STC or you cant set it up properly on your planet for some reason, you will make any tank you can because Big E help you if the Orks show up during the next meteor rain and you dont have armour.

So nice to see actual competent Guard, GW has really been playing into the meme in the last few years so this is a nice change of pace, with a really cool take on IG recon tanks! Great job!!

As someone who is a massive fan of the books and lore, this genuinely has to be one of the more lore friendly/accurate representations of an IG/Choas tank engagement I have ever seen, bravo sir
Everything about this video is top notch, but what I love most is how alive the characters and the setting feels.
Battle hardened veterans who trust each other's skills, popping off a few jokes, what they think of the Tallans, etc. It's all just so damn good!!!
Individuals in this animation are extremely good you did a fantastic job the watery Ness of the eyes the details of the faces of each of the commanding members of each tank the way the tracks sway and move loosely in between the wheels.
On top of that the detail to the lore is extremely proficient The mentioning of the models of the enemy tanks is amazing as not many people would know those models

Incredible job! The character design, voice acting, hard-surface modeling and environment art are great! Animations for those infantry were a bit stiff but it didn't take away from this masterpiece! I can't wait for the next part.

10/10 top quality, looks like a cutscene from a high quality videogame, I don't recognise a few of the videos but I'm more into the warhammer books and haven't kept up with the models recently, looks really good and some of them details you went into such as the shell ejecting from the back of the turret just made it that much cooler, keep up the good work

Well, that was merely superb. In all facets, some of it jaw dropping- the coax kills on the dismounts was like a squishy center- this was fantastic. Going to go watch Part 1 now.
