    You never know, catastrophic failure can happen to any engine at anytime. Take it to Cleveland Brothers Cat in Milesburg PA and get a real engine !!! They are the best !!! Talk to Doug.

    You also should look into assembled titles on the newer trucks, you do not have to follow emissions anymore.

    Sucks it went down. I have never had good luck with Cummins engines of any type. Not a fan. Detroit or Cat for me. Hope you get it back on the road soon!

    Here Kitty Kitty, They're just more fun to be around, It is time, say with enough horse power (as Rolls-Royce would say) just to make the heads turn as she rolls by.

    I agree with you 100% about the cat engines. I suppose you know about the "new content" Cat engine that's available . You can even trade in your Cummins for a core on a Cat engine the same year or newer then your core engine. I believe even with a hole in the block.

    I would just slap a used or reman N-14 in there and keep it simple. That one was obviously a Monday morning/Friday afternoon engine or was rode hard and put away wet. Maybe CAT is better but those are usually considered pretty solid if they aren't turned up too high.

    That's sad. I would like to see you swap the Detroit for the Cummins. I think you'll really be surprised at the difference in fuel economy with Detroit over the Cat.

    Hole in the side ,threw a rod . Repair if u want . I’d install the Cat . A part failure is always a possibility . Like flipping a coin , u didn’t get this far by crying but by doin . Justin have a good one !

    They dont call em cummaparts for nothin....N14 needs rods and mains at 400,000... as long as that hole is in-between a web you can fix it without taking the engine out if you know a good welder

    I prefer the yellow engines myself but a series 60 set at 500hp is a decent powerplant

    Put a 6nz550 hp cat in my truck and that would make me happy! A dealer in Florida has several for $13500 with a 6 month warranty that’s hard to beat…

      @@Thedropshopkustoms : yeah, I have no idea. I’ve seen some place in Miami area advertising those prices I think it’s j j engine rebuilders. Pretty hard to build one for that price and use quality parts. Idk, perhaps.

      @@scottberry5266 the dealer I saw I think was in the Daytona area they are used engines that they test and run . I did see a engine dealer in Miami that claims to have done a complete overhaul that if using new part’s would cost over 24.500 … I was trying to help Justin fix my truck lol I don’t really like the red top Cummins to many problems with them and low oil pressure

    Cat do reman program ,,,, trade any cummins ,detroit for Cat and legal. Pull the engine repower, repin the appriote plugs and wiring to suit, your good to go :)

      Tons of people were swapping Cats into emissions trucks. The guys in Oregon that were making the conversion harness finally got in trouble recently. Best thing to do is leave the def tank and stickers to try to play dumb.

    A yellow motor with a def tank? At least it was a pete and not a volvo
    And a Cummings with an inspection port in the side of the block, never😂😂😂😂.
    Pretty sure thats why all the x15s ive run are rev limited to 1700 rpm. My c13 cat, she likes to scream all day like a 60 series detroit.

    Nothing wrong with a 60 series, Cats in my opinion have lost there reliability cat literally puts used parts in platinum kits now.. the N-14 is basically a electronic big cam that’s a tried and proven engine platform not like it’s a x-15

    I saw a video at Mats a guy was talking one of the reps at the Cat booth and according to him they will take a competitors engine in for core even with a hole in the block.

    So do you like the Detroit 12.7 ? I’m buying a w900 triaxle with one but I don’t know much about them other then what google told me 😂. I’ve always been a CAT guy mostly.

      @@flintcreektransport he gotta wake up lol. I used to be the biggest 379 fan. They’re great trucks, but the W900l models give you everything! Interior is not even close. Even the older W9s are light years ahead of Peterbilt’s 379s. And I used to be heavily biased towards the 379s. Until I drive a W9L.

      Kenworth is kind of the high-brow, champagne drinking truck driver's truck. I grew up not far from their assembly plant in Renton, WA. So I should like them better, but have to say I prefer the Pete look.
