I always thought it was Ledhead, which used to be the name I went by, but so many people used it so I changed it to what it is today

I love this song; the overdubbing is rich, lush, and tasteful. The tapping is Bonzo pattering on something - no one knows what (the 3 have been asked and no one remembers). Some say he's tapping on an empty guitar case, some say his knees, or a stool/chair and I'm sure there's other theories as well. Personally, I think it's an empty guitar case. I love how the acoustic guitar remains throughout even after the electric guitar comes in and those bass punches are killer. Near the end, Jimmy had asked Robert to improvise more lyrics, which is why you can hear him continue through the entire fade out. This is from their 2nd album and is one of their earliest songs where their richness of sound, musicality, and composition shine. It shows a bit of their musical evolution, ingenuity, and confidence to go for something a bit different. Personally, I don't think there was a very heavy meaning to Robert's lyrics for this. The simplest recommendation I can give is to start at the beginning and go in album/track order. Yes, I know you've already done some of their songs, but really, this would be the perfect time as I haven't seen you for a while (not doing Zep, at least) so just get in on the ground floor and work your way up.
I discovered Led Zeppelin while babysitting. The family had them & I listened to #1, I think? That was the late 70s. This song is awesome

I saw Led Zeppelin perform this song in 1969 at the Rose Palace in Pasadena, California. Amazing concert. I would see them again a couple of more times when I was at Arizona State University during the 1970s.
That must of been an epic experience, what was a standout song from that show?
Get the Led out! One of their greatest tunes that takes me back to my freshman year in high school when this first came out. I love it more today than I did at the time.

The main reason I subscribed to your account is the way you let the music develop before commenting. I've had it with reactors who interrupt a blazing guitar solo to say stupid shit like, "Was that a cowbell? Let me know in the comments". Also, your reaction is worth hearing when you give it. So many people don't get the Rings references in LZ's songs. Jimmy and Robert were both into Tolkien as well as Middle Ages history.

I agree, to many talk throughout plus pause to much, hell they can’t go 5 minutes without drinking something either. I’ve been following a guy named To Mito Reacciones, he started from the beginning song by song album by album. He picks out a few off each album to do lives, if he talks during its low & minimal. He doesn’t detract from enjoying the songs, it’s been great following him from the beginning.
