Whenever I tell people about this episode, I can only describe it as beautiful to watch. The way Death comforts those she takes as well as her brother was heartwarming and I never get tired of watching it

Death was written so freaking well. I've never believed in an afterlife, but if I'm wrong and there is an afterlife I would wish that this is the 'Death' who greets me.
It cracked me up when fans complained about the actress. Seen her in loads of TV shows before and knew she would knock it out the park. That scene with the recently deceased old man, was sublimely acted.
That whole scene involving death and the baby is rather haunting and heartbreaking. You can see the visible reluctance on Death’s face to take the baby, and the baby is shown to be relatively happy and clueless and oblivious to what is going on around them, mainly because they are too young to understand what is happening to them. You can even see that Dream is even not so sure to go along with it, which makes sense, considering that he himself went through the unimaginable pain of losing a child, and the whole situation for him is bringing back painful memories of his loss. The thing is, unlike the comic, we are left to imagine the poor mom’s reaction to discovering that her baby is dead-the worst nightmare of any parent come to life. From what I have heard, the scream of parent who lost their kid is…it’s an indescribable sound that once you hear it, you’ll never forget that sound. It’s…so primal, so guttural, so painful, and again, it’s a sound that words themselves cannot express the full spectre of. It’s NOT a sound that a person should ever hear or even want to hear-it haunts the minds of those who hear it forever. Those who have lost a kid themselves or lost their baby to SIDS will know what I am talking about, as they know that sound all too well.
Seeing that arnk tells me exactly who she is in first glance, and the moment she tells the boy sure you will see me again soon, and I was like, dude, you know not what you asked for
I'm an only child, white, and had never read the comics. Thought the series was "Okay"... not bad but not great... up until this episode. Was blown away thinking "I want a sister EXACTLY like her!" I can honestly say now that I absolutely love Death. ❤
I find it beautifully ironic that Death is donning the 'Ankh' necklace in this scene (which is the Egyptian symbol meaning "The Key to Life or the Nile")... In a way, its like saying she represents 'Life AND Death' or 'Life AFTER Death' in this iteration. I wonder if the costume designer or Gaiman himself did that for naunce, or am I just reading too much into it cause I thoroughly enjoyed her character so much? 😂🤷🏾♂️
Also the people who captured him were originally after Death and had the means to trap members of the Endless. Death couldn't risk getting trapped and having people never die so they had to stay away, even if it meant having to leave Dream trapped. I don't remember if this was just a theory or confirmed by the comics but it makes a lot of sense to me

The scene with the baby breaks my heart every time. I was absolutely terrified of SIDS when my son was a baby.
