Can we acknowledge how Hob never lost faith in Morpheus? He's not resentful, bitter, angry or sad that he missed their last meeting. He carried on and greeted him with the same happiness he did the last few centuries.
I mean when you've been around that long, you probably learn to let a _lot_ of stuff slide that truly doesn't matter. Who wants to hold onto emotional baggage for centuries?
He’s not immortal, Dream and Death agreed that she would not take him….unless he wanted it. She thought that a human would get tired of life at some point and and seek death. So far Mr Gadling has not.
@@robertsole9970 Wouldn't that mean that, while he doesn't seek Death out, he technically is immortal? Yes, I do mean it in a technical sense. So long as Death or Dream don't change their mind, Hob doesn't seek out death, he is for all intents and purposes, Immortal.

the reunion in the new inn was so wholesome, the way they smile because they're happy to see each other brought a tear to my eye. the whole time I was like "Awwwww!"
It's also interesting how different the vibe of the new inn is compared to the old one. The old inn was dark, somewhat mysterious, and steeped in history. The new inn on the other hand is well lit and while new feels cozier and more intimate than the old inn. A good bit of symbolism I think for how Dream and Hob's relationship has now changed to a genuine friendship, plus how Dream himself has over the course of the series changed to being more open to change
My favorite scene is their earlier interaction. “I’ve hated every second of the last 80 years, every bloody second. You know that?” “So do you still wish to live?” “Are you crazy? Death is a mug’s game. I got so much to live for.”
i was expecting he'd want to die when he lost his family but he moved on and on. while life may be torture for most of us, this guy sees the good in the unknown.
Yeah, i was shock too when he still wants to live more and he's very resillient person. I love the look of morpheus when he knew heard hob's response like for the 1st time he felt that the human is very much interesting than the first time he met him 😅.
I think after you’ve been around for 500 years, there probably isn’t much “unknown” left, the world follows patterns and cycles. That’s why you see the immortality as a curse trope, things become boring when everything’s predictable. Also, I believe people only get so much joy or purpose in their lives. After you’ve fulfilled that, what else is there to do? Even if you find new hobbies/goals, I’d imagine you’d run out of ones you still enjoy in 500 years time.

Technology works like an exponential graph. At first, it gradually rises at a very slow pace. And then bam! It starts to sky rocket and keeps going higher and higher ! In a decade or so, the world will be completely different because of how fast we’re now advancing. Our era is like no other!
When Morpheus says “it’s impolite to keep one’s friends waiting”, Hob gives a true genuine smile that warms my hearth. This episode is amazing entirely
This whole segment is something so unique that I have never seen anything like it depicted in any other show or movie (that I know of). The whole "experiment" if you would call it that is such a brilliant take on the concept of human immortality.
It is refreshing actually. I am sick and tired of the whole argument about not wanting immortality because loved ones, death gives meaning and stuff like that. People in their mind have connected death with aging and immortality with forever aging. But death is just a symptom of aging. To combat death (biological at least) we need to treat aging like the decease it is. When we reach that level, we will be able to stay in a productive age. The mentality Hob has in the series is the mentality that i would bet most humans would have given immortality. It would be a gift, not a curse
Interesting that Hob settled on being a teacher in the 21st century, you can see at 3:04 he is grading some multiple choice questions, wouldn't surprise me at all if he decided on being a history teacher with all his centuries of life experience and knowledge :)
I imagine he would find it really interesting to relearn about the centuries he lived through. No one really gets a good idea of the forces that shape their life until long after.

He was such a drama queen. He was endless, it would take two seconds for him to find Hob in the Dreaming. But that's why we love Dream. Because he's a walking emo god boy

Everything in this sequence, Morpheus and Hob's interaction to friendship, is by far my favourite thing in this show. I couldn't stop smiling when Hob is still waiting, hoping that one day Morpheus will come and meet him again, until Morpheus comes back.
If you've read the comicbook series, you'll know that Robert 'Hob' Gadling reappears down the road. Not as frequently as perhaps you'd like and I could have happily spent more time with him too, but then, I know broadly what's coming.

The absolutes have beautiful covers but a little more costly, omnibuses collect more in one volume but they are big and comfortable to read only on tables. There are also the 10 tpbs which you can buy one by one or buy them whole as a 30th anniversary collection. If you want more info, you can see videos from "gem mint collectibles" and "for the love of comics" about the absolutes
It's not 100% shown in the show but Morpheus has always been very proud. His imprisonment and journey change him a bit- This change is explicitly shown in this scenes. Where Morpheus can finally can Hob a 'friend.'
This story of episode 6 is by far the greatest. In general episode 6 is the best but this time travel and this friendship deserve a movie! I really like the concept it’s pretty genius!
6 would not have been as good as it is without 4 and 5. 6 felt like a well deserved cathartic release and rest after literally going through hell in the previous episodes.

I love how at first you think its Hob that's always changing - his life has been up and down for so many centuries as well as humanity always changing - but then you realize, he's the same. He'll never lose his thirst for life and he'll never seek Death. Who's changed is Dream. He's become more human and accepted his loneliness and need for companionship. For an Endless thats big
At first I thought this episode made a weird choice to combine two completely separate issues together (the Death story and the Hobs story), but thinking back on it they were blended together beautifully. We really see just how much growth Dream has had from before his imprisonment to now. Even Fiddler’s Green acknowledged this (“He told you he was wrong, that’s almost an apology! The Dream I know would have never said that.”).
Hobb kept telling Dream that life have so much to offer. And he found his purpose over and over agin. This man didn’t give up regardless being immortal. He’s such an interesting character. And I love how his character development change every 100 years. Also the writing sign “New Inn➡️” I felt like Hobb must have done that so Dream know where to go to meet up with him.
Completely unnecessary. Hob Gadling isn't separated from the Dreaming. Morpheus can find any being that spends time in his domain. Not that Hob knows who his friend is, exactly. Later in the plot (at least in the comic) Morpheus will visit Hob in his dreams, even leaving a gift of a remembered bottle of wine.
For me, the vignettes with Hob were some of the most touching of the whole series. It brilliantly showed the development of the relationship over an extended time period and Morpheus' gradual realization that it was, in fact, a true friendship - perhaps the only one he's ever really had.
For me The Sandman and Daredevil are both Netflix gems 💎 I hope season 2 of Sandman will be as amazing, hopefully they don’t deviate from the main story again because I wasn’t crazy about episodes 7-9. Too much of Rose and her friends. I don’t want similar issues next season. If they focus more on Dream, Lucifer and his siblings I will be happier!

if Netflix is smart , they can make a spin-off of Hob, where we follow him , and his journey, and at the end of every season,100 years have passed , and the final ep for each season we meet Morpheus at the bar

After first time watching this and seeing that they would grant his immortality, I was expecting that guy to be lonely as shit, because he'd be alone and all that, and can't possibly build a relationship with any other humans he wouldn't reminisce, but boy, I was left wanting for more. I wanted to see 100 years more. Fuckin love this show.
I did too. I had already watched the full series, but one of my best friends just passed this last weekend and to watch it again, makes it more meaningful. He had cancer and I was planning to visit him the same day he died, but missed him by a couple of hours before I got the horrific text from his aunt that he was no longer with us. I can only beg he had a peaceful and kind death, like the one from The Sandman.
This scene really pulled at my heartstrings when Dream finds Hob their knowing he still wants to live and acknowledges him as a friend the smile on both Hob and Dream's faces made me smile
Dream is sooooo offended its almost laughable except Hob was so heartbroken. What a fantastic episode ALL of it and supreme acting. My favorite episode of all!!
This episode is the best of the entire series! It showed that even beyond powerful beings can still be humbled by simple humans. Plus I may have let out a couple of tears when they reunited at the New Inn.

This was the best episode in my opinion. I watched several times now. The human condition, life, death, heartbreak, happiness, and friendship was beautifully rendered.
This is what I've loved about Gaiman's writing, you have these powerful and mythical beings, and instead of seeing them live epic action; you just see them just being people, not that different from us.
Wouldn’t go that far. They may have minds and personalities of their own, but I think there are times when it does show that Dream is not human, and has an entirely different way of looking at things.
Their eternal friendship started with a challenge. Morpheus has seen the darkest, most cruel and coldest things humanity's life has to offer but Hob showed him that there is more than that, he showed him that such things is what kept humanity going, to be better and determined to reach their highest possible potential
@@yuujin2490 I mean... why not, it isnt like Dream is locked being a man as much as he is locked being caucasian. The endless are above and beyond those concepts... but at the same time... love is something that runs deeply in them, and even them cant forsake such emotion. For good and bad... love is what makes and unmakes us.
After how their last meeting ended (the best part was cut out), I really liked how he made sure to emphasize the word "friend". That may have been the first time he ever said that word, let alone used it to refer to someone.
I loved this whole part, so imaginative and unique. I had also totally forgotten that Morpheus had been held captive for a long time and got major goosebumps when they zoomed in on the glass and showed him in the cage.
You notice dream really care for hob's when he told him to be more careful even though he knew that hob's can't die, he knows that he can still feel pain. Really good dialogues there, morpheus was already his friend but as an endless he was too proud, but slowly morpheus changed and finally acknowleged that human can be interesting and be more than what he thought at first.
Of all episodes in the series, this is my favorite. It's so heartwarming and raw for me. You know we needed at least one person to talk to with anything.
@@Sidus666 yeah, I read all the comics years ago, and Hob was one of my favorites. I just love the casting for him, and think his years of adventures could totally work as a series. Perhaps a season for each century?
It'd be interesting to occasionally get little cutaways of Death keeping tabs on him, seeing how her brother's experiment is going. Hob can't really interact with Dream directly between their meetings, but maybe he could have some dreams or nightmares involving him during his imprisonment or something. Kind of like Wesley Dodds did in the comics when he became the first vigilante Sandman.
What I like so much abt all this is that they clearly chose a good man for immortality. Hob could've gone bad really quickly and stayed that way, but he chose to stay positive and even improve on his good qualities. Not to mention, he didn't go bitter when Morpheus rejected him and waited patiently for him to return 👍👍
yeah I like how he did realize that investing in the slave trade was terrible and later renounced it. he didn't claim to be a great person just someone that is trying to learn from his mistakes.

Hob has had many friends over the centuries. So he can understand that having a being beyond a immortal human having a great deal of pride would muck up things if Hobb poked too much.
Really interesting, that Dream knows the secret hopes and fears of all humanity, but went so long believing himself above them, that they never really affected him. As though you could sail the ocean forever but never get wet.
This was one of the best episodes of the series. I expected the guy to be miserable but it was so inspiring to see him push on and be such a good friend to Morpheus. Their friendship was just so adorable ❤️It made me smile wide 😀
Dream may give off the vibe of being emo and isolated at first, but he's actually soft and fuzzy on the inside. You'll never see him smile more warmly than when he's with the people he most cares about, his sister, lucienne, and hobs. Awwww..
I wish they would give Hob more time. I feel like, he is Dream's comfort zone, someone who won't judge him just because of his decisions in life and would actually explain things in a much more softer way that Morpheus can understand and he himself will apply it.
This entire series is a complete masterpiece, I've read all the books, and watched the show and I can say the encapsulated everything that made the stories beautiful and unique
This was such a good episode, completely out of the blue, and right on the feels of another excellent episode in Ep 4. Death's perfect intro and her beautiful, but difficult job, discarding the "curse of a long life" storyline, but also acknowledging that life has its ups and downs and you just have to deal with them, and of course, the beautiful blossoming friendship between Dream and Hob. The last scene where they both greet each other as old friends, with a genuine smile on their faces, was so fucking good.
For me and I’m sure a lot of people, Sandman is almost sacred. To see the execution of the core materials/concept/spirit carried off so flawlessly makes me so happy.
Everything about this sequence is perfect...something that you want to keep watching, & savour - especially the joy of true friendship at the end: you barely notice the background music at first, but that, too, is simply perfect 💔
Dream WAS lonely. Other than his siblings he had no friends. He had siblings, creations, and subjects. The lives of mortals are so short to beings who live for billions of years. Hob was the first mortal he had met who could not die and who owed him nothing so the friendship was pure and organic. I suppose it is rather poetic that Death gave Dream the gift of friendship.
There are other immortals. They aren't all as optimistic as Hob. Mad Hettie the witch is one, and she's sort of what happens when you get so focused on not dying you forget anything else. Most of the immortals are just acquaintances of the Endless who'd received a pass from Death due to their relationship with her or her siblings. There is one guy who actually beats Hob a thousand times over on being adaptable to immortallity. Dude remembered the taste of mammoth steak. He was the first great hunter and warlord, and was friends with Destruction, the missing Endless. He died as - of all things - an accountant in the 20th century when a being trying to track down Destruction triggered a supernatural boobytrap Destruction set up to prevent being tracked through his acquaintances. Complained about it to Death.
One of the best parts of the show. Edit; even having watched the show two times already, I never realized that the transition from the glass to sandman in the glass sphere prison to his reflection in the glass of the old pub. I only noticed the obvious switch to showing him in the sphere
I think the reason Hob isn’t ready to die yet is because the world changes so much as time goes on. He probably won’t get bored until he’s experienced everything.
Morpheus may be the all-powerful King of Dreams and Dream of the Endless but he's really lonely deep inside that he seeks companionship now, he has found a friend in Hob who shows him the importance of friendship which I really get and understand that and it's what brings me the feels but I really do feel Dream because he's like me, being alone in the world and seeking companionship to make me feel whole and that's the only one thing he doesn't have throughout his life! That scene made me tell myself that "Yes, I should have a friend whom I could share my life, secrets, and stories with so I could feel whole with them and yeah, friendship is the only thing I ever want to have for me". 😭😭😭😭
I'm kinda jealous of him. If I had powers, even I wouldn't have friends cuz you can't really trust them. Even the greatest of friends, love, and family ends up betraying you or lie to you. Also, he did have a companionship but he ended up jailing her in hell cuz she refused him so yeah.

One thing that I noticed is that he doesn't want riches , fame or any other thing that usually a human wants when he gains immortality he just wanted knowledge, to see more how the world would involve
This is an excellent take on immortality. It really defies the tired trope of “Immortality is boring, what would you have to live for?” Hob understands. He embodies the insatiable curiosity of the human spirit. He understands that life is not a checklist of things you do while waiting for death, life is inherently beautiful and an end unto itself; you *just keep doing it*.

Everything in this sequence, Morpheus and Hob's interaction to friendship, is by far my favourite thing in this show. I couldn't stop smiling when Hob is still waiting, hoping that one day Morpheus will come and meet him again, until Morpheus comes back.
I wish they expanded this story a bit more and included Hobbs in more stories. It's a great story!

The absolutes have beautiful covers but a little more costly, omnibuses collect more in one volume but they are big and comfortable to read only on tables. It's not 100% shown in the show but Morpheus has always been very proud. His imprisonment and journey change him a bit- This change is explicitly shown in this scenes. Where Morpheus can finally can Hob a 'friend.'

This story of episode 6 is by far the greatest. In general episode 6 is the best but this time travel and this friendship deserve a movie! I really like the concept it’s pretty genius!
The episode 5 is also very good. A bit depressing maybe but really good.
6 would not have been as good as it is without 4 and 5.
6 felt like a well deserved cathartic release and rest after literally going through hell in the previous episodes.

Dream looks and sounds ethereal... perfect casting in my opinion.
I love how at first you think its Hob that's always changing - his life has been up and down for so many centuries as well as humanity always changing - but then you realize, he's the same. He'll never lose his thirst for life and he'll never seek Death. Who's changed is Dream. He's become more human and accepted his loneliness and need for companionship. For an Endless thats big
That’s the thing with gods, it’s a symbiotic relationship, they each need the other to grow albeit in different ways.
This is the most interesting episode. Just one episode but it feels like many episodes!
At first I thought this episode made a weird choice to combine two completely separate issues together (the Death story and the Hobs story), but thinking back on it they were blended together beautifully. We really see just how much growth Dream has had from before his imprisonment to now. Even Fiddler’s Green acknowledged this (“He told you he was wrong, that’s almost an apology! The Dream I know would have never said that.”).
Hobb kept telling Dream that life have so much to offer. And he found his purpose over and over agin. This man didn’t give up regardless being immortal. He’s such an interesting character. And I love how his character development change every 100 years. Also the writing sign “New Inn➡️” I felt like Hobb must have done that so Dream know where to go to meet up with him.
Even the music with this is - perfect.
Completely unnecessary. Hob Gadling isn't separated from the Dreaming. Morpheus can find any being that spends time in his domain. Not that Hob knows who his friend is, exactly. Later in the plot (at least in the comic) Morpheus will visit Hob in his dreams, even leaving a gift of a remembered bottle of wine.

For me, the vignettes with Hob were some of the most touching of the whole series. It brilliantly showed the development of the relationship over an extended time period and Morpheus' gradual realization that it was, in fact, a true friendship - perhaps the only one he's ever really had.
Netflix TV series "The Sandman" is a true masterpiece in modern age.
For me The Sandman and Daredevil are both Netflix gems 💎 I hope season 2 of Sandman will be as amazing, hopefully they don’t deviate from the main story again because I wasn’t crazy about episodes 7-9. Too much of Rose and her friends. I don’t want similar issues next season. If they focus more on Dream, Lucifer and his siblings I will be happier!

After first time watching this and seeing that they would grant his immortality, I was expecting that guy to be lonely as shit, because he'd be alone and all that, and can't possibly build a relationship with any other humans he wouldn't reminisce, but boy, I was left wanting for more. I wanted to see 100 years more. Fuckin love this show.

I did too. I had already watched the full series, but one of my best friends just passed this last weekend and to watch it again, makes it more meaningful. He had cancer and I was planning to visit him the same day he died, but missed him by a couple of hours before I got the horrific text from his aunt that he was no longer with us. I can only beg he had a peaceful and kind death, like the one from The Sandman.

Out of the 10 episodes, this was my favorite. Seeing them smiling at each other at the end just got me.
This scene really pulled at my heartstrings when Dream finds Hob their knowing he still wants to live and acknowledges him as a friend the smile on both Hob and Dream's faces made me smile

This episode is the best of the entire series! It showed that even beyond powerful beings can still be humbled by simple humans.

This was the best episode in my opinion. I watched several times now. The human condition, life, death, heartbreak, happiness, and friendship was beautifully rendered.
My favorite sequence in the entire spectacular series. So pure and timeless. So well done. I hope we see Hob again.
This is what I've loved about Gaiman's writing, you have these powerful and mythical beings, and instead of seeing them live epic action; you just see them just being people, not that different from us.
Wouldn’t go that far. They may have minds and personalities of their own, but I think there are times when it does show that Dream is not human, and has an entirely different way of looking at things.
Their eternal friendship started with a challenge. Morpheus has seen the darkest, most cruel and coldest things humanity's life has to offer but Hob showed him that there is more than that, he showed him that such things is what kept humanity going, to be better and determined to reach their highest possible potential
It's awesome and heartwarming. Hob was so excited about stuff that we take for granted: chimneys and handkerchiefs. He is so excited and full of life.

This was one of my favorite stories in the comic, so excited when the show did it.
If you look at Morpheus's eyes at 1:00, you'll tears forming in them. Hob hit a nerve, and it enraged Dream.
I could watch an entire Mini-Series of Hob Gadling and Morpheus/Dream’s Friendship and Interactions because this entire episode was just amazing

After how their last meeting ended (the best part was cut out), I really liked how he made sure to emphasize the word "friend". That may have been the first time he ever said that word, let alone used it to refer to someone.

I loved this whole part, so imaginative and unique. I had also totally forgotten that Morpheus had been held captive for a long time and got major goosebumps when they zoomed in on the glass and showed him in the cage.
I'd say that at the time of the cut, Morpheus is missing Hob which makes him realize they were indeed friends all along.
You notice dream really care for hob's when he told him to be more careful even though he knew that hob's can't die, he knows that he can still feel pain.
Really good dialogues there, morpheus was already his friend but as an endless he was too proud, but slowly morpheus changed and finally acknowleged that human can be interesting and be more than what he thought at first.

This is actually a good idea
It'd be interesting to occasionally get little cutaways of Death keeping tabs on him, seeing how her brother's experiment is going. Hob can't really interact with Dream directly between their meetings, but maybe he could have some dreams or nightmares involving him during his imprisonment or something. Kind of like Wesley Dodds did in the comics when he became the first vigilante Sandman.

What I like so much abt all this is that they clearly chose a good man for immortality. Hob could've gone bad really quickly and stayed that way, but he chose to stay positive and even improve on his good qualities. Not to mention, he didn't go bitter when Morpheus rejected him and waited patiently for him to return 👍👍

yeah I like how he did realize that investing in the slave trade was terrible and later renounced it. he didn't claim to be a great person just someone that is trying to learn from his mistakes.

Hob has had many friends over the centuries. So he can understand that having a being beyond a immortal human having a great deal of pride would muck up things if Hobb poked too much.
This is easily the best episode of Season 1 and probably one of the best episodes of the year so far. Such a brilliant concept so well executed.

Really interesting, that Dream knows the secret hopes and fears of all humanity, but went so long believing himself above them, that they never really affected him. As though you could sail the ocean forever but never get wet.

Episodes like this one are one of the many things that make The Sandman far more extraordinary than most live action tv series in the past 10 years.
Dream may give off the vibe of being emo and isolated at first, but he's actually soft and fuzzy on the inside. You'll never see him smile more warmly than when he's with the people he most cares about, his sister, lucienne, and hobs. Awwww..
I was utterly shocked and delighted in the casting of this show. frikking amazing. wished it could have continued.
I wish they would give Hob more time. I feel like, he is Dream's comfort zone, someone who won't judge him just because of his decisions in life and would actually explain things in a much more softer way that Morpheus can understand and he himself will apply it.
This entire series is a complete masterpiece, I've read all the books, and watched the show and I can say the encapsulated everything that made the stories beautiful and unique

This was such a good episode, completely out of the blue, and right on the feels of another excellent episode in Ep 4. Death's perfect intro and her beautiful, but difficult job, discarding the "curse of a long life" storyline, but also acknowledging that life has its ups and downs and you just have to deal with them, and of course, the beautiful blossoming friendship between Dream and Hob.
The last scene where they both greet each other as old friends, with a genuine smile on their faces, was so fucking good.

For me and I’m sure a lot of people, Sandman is almost sacred. To see the execution of the core materials/concept/spirit carried off so flawlessly makes me so happy.

This is my favourite episode by far.
Dream WAS lonely. Other than his siblings he had no friends. He had siblings, creations, and subjects. The lives of mortals are so short to beings who live for billions of years. Hob was the first mortal he had met who could not die and who owed him nothing so the friendship was pure and organic.
I suppose it is rather poetic that Death gave Dream the gift of friendship.

There are other immortals. They aren't all as optimistic as Hob. Mad Hettie the witch is one, and she's sort of what happens when you get so focused on not dying you forget anything else. Most of the immortals are just acquaintances of the Endless who'd received a pass from Death due to their relationship with her or her siblings.
There is one guy who actually beats Hob a thousand times over on being adaptable to immortallity. Dude remembered the taste of mammoth steak. He was the first great hunter and warlord, and was friends with Destruction, the missing Endless. He died as - of all things - an accountant in the 20th century when a being trying to track down Destruction triggered a supernatural boobytrap Destruction set up to prevent being tracked through his acquaintances. Complained about it to Death.
Always wanted something like this, immortals just coming back to the same place after decades and then acting casually lol.
When you don't know your best friend is the Immortal King.
One of the best parts of the show.
Edit; even having watched the show two times already, I never realized that the transition from the glass to sandman in the glass sphere prison to his reflection in the glass of the old pub. I only noticed the obvious switch to showing him in the sphere

I think the reason Hob isn’t ready to die yet is because the world changes so much as time goes on. He probably won’t get bored until he’s experienced everything.

Morpheus may be the all-powerful King of Dreams and Dream of the Endless but he's really lonely deep inside that he seeks companionship now, he has found a friend in Hob who shows him the importance of friendship which I really get and understand that and it's what brings me the feels but I really do feel Dream because he's like me, being alone in the world and seeking companionship to make me feel whole and that's the only one thing he doesn't have throughout his life! That scene made me tell myself that "Yes, I should have a friend whom I could share my life, secrets, and stories with so I could feel whole with them and yeah, friendship is the only thing I ever want to have for me". 😭😭😭😭

Without spoilers, Hob's growth is one of his character's constants 😊 which is why he is my favorite.
I remember reading this arc of sandman for the first time. It always stood out to me when I think about sandman anything.
I cried so much with this episode. The death segment is just visceral, but it ends with both friends smiling and filled my heart with hope.

One thing that I noticed is that he doesn't want riches , fame or any other thing that usually a human wants when he gains immortality he just wanted knowledge, to see more how the world would involve

This is an excellent take on immortality. It really defies the tired trope of “Immortality is boring, what would you have to live for?”
Hob understands. He embodies the insatiable curiosity of the human spirit. He understands that life is not a checklist of things you do while waiting for death, life is inherently beautiful and an end unto itself; you *just keep doing it*.
