That’s a really fuckin good trio of actors too, all of them are fantastic. Shout out Hugh tho because Hannibal deserved way more attention and his performance in that was so fuckin good. Wonder if we will ever see Pattinson do tv or if he’ll just stick to the movies since he’s already a big star, would love to see him on tv tho. These days even big stars pop up on tv so hopefully he does in a great show, great example would be Matthew McConaughey who decided to do true detective as his only show ever and gave one of the best performances ever and that character is looked at as iconic now. Anyway I’m just rambling now lol, great group of actors, glad Tom got the role of Dream, he’s great in it and hopefully it will get him a bunch of attention

Everyone’s talking about how Gwendoline’s laughter is wonderful and contagious. True. But Tom just cracking up at his costars jokes made me smile so much. I love that it’s usually the actors who play the grimmest, darkest characters who have the brightest personalities.

Fun fact: Tom Sturridge & Robert Pattinson have been best friends since they were children. They went to school together in London. Rob was at The Sandman premiere after-party recently
I was at the premiere too and I met everyone including Tom, they were all so nice!
Tom, Robert, Andrew Garfield, Eddie Redmayne and Jamie Dornan all went to LA for the pilot season. This was around the time Robert got Twilight.
There was an interview with Eddie when he heard Jamie mention how hard it was going out with Robert and get attention. In a humorous way.
When Eddie heard this he said that you have Robert and at the time Jamie was modeling for Calvin Klein and the indicated himself and it was look at me.
Robert also said they were going for the same things while waiting to go he would hear clapping and Eddie would walk out of the audition room.
He should play Mr Freeze in the Batman sequel
@Ellie B I forgot another one Charlie Cox. I don't think they all went together on the plane or anything. Tom and Robert have known each other since they were 13 and best friends. Eddie and Jamie were best mates. They all knew each other before. I haven't read about how they all got there.

I really love that so many of these actors have actually read and are fans of so much of Neil Gaiman's work! That seems rare in these types of scenarios. It also gives me something to identify with them as people about on top of admiring their performances as actors.
It's their job, reading all about the universe helps to act as the charecter.

The scene with Lucifer and Morpheus was television goldmine. I can rewatch it at all time. The acting, the disposition, the direction OMG.... so good.
It’s was so gorgeously shot and seemed lifted directly from Neil Gaiman’s writing. I’m not that familiar with the comics, but I’ve been reading Neil since I was 13 and that’s as Neil Gaiman as you get.

I haven't gotten to the episodes with Desire yet and I've never heard Mason Alexander Park speak before, so I was taken aback when their voice was so deep. They are so beautiful, my brain tricked me into expecting a softer voice to come out. Haha. I can't wait to see them in the show. Absolutely perfect casting for Desire.
Their voice was what made me absolutely love them from the start! A little spoiler: you hear the voice before you see the face.
My mind is blown that they found a performer who looks that much like a character that was created before they were even born.
That happened to me while watching the SDCC panel. But it makes such perfect sense. Haven't got to the part with Mason in the series, but honestly, I can't wait. And let's keep in mind I've always been "meh" about Netflix and streaming in general; I suscribed ONLY for Sandman.

I don't care if it's just me but Gwendolyn's voice sounds so angelic that I can still hear her talk as Lucifer. I don't think she acts for her character at all. She EMBODIES it in real life. So majestic and so divine, I can watch and listen to her all day. I think I'm a simp for Lucifer.
Gwendolyn, Mason and Paton sound like they're doing character voice overs perpetually. Their voices just have a quality to it.
And she was such a beast as a knight on Game of Thrones. So awesome.
Of course Jenna picked "travel through time", since she's done it already 😂 So what I've learned is that Jenna is actually Constantine and Tom is actually Dream... which, from their performances (I've only watched through episode 3 so far), is accurate!
She traveled a lot in time in the series "Doctor Who", she knows what’s good haha
This cast was A+ I love all their characters Sandman was a unexpected delight didn't know anything about the series when I watched (binged in 2 days) CAN wait until season 2 because its that good ☺🥰
It really is. Having read the 80’s novels as a kid I was happy with how much of this transferred over to the show. They did us fans of the Endless a service for the most part and I appreciate that

I haven’t finished the show yet, but the entire cast is absolutely killing it! Boyd and Mason steal every scene they’re in. And Gwendolyn as Lucifer was inspired casting. She was amazing. David Thewlis has been my favorite performance/departure from the comics though. I really love what they did with John Dee.

I agree. Gwendolyn does such a great job of portraying a calm collected Lucifer that you can tell is containing a boiling rage just beneath the surface ready to be unleashed at any moment.
Not done with the show but David Thewlis gave me CHILLS in the fourth episode! Honestly the entire cast is giving it their all!!!

The whole cast was great Imo, shout-out Kirby especially, so many people complained before the release and some still complaining now about them casting a black woman for the role, for me I think she was the perfect woman for the job and really nailed Death’s personality. She did a great job showing how death was kind and gentle and friendly and just had a warm personality in general, that’s what matters most to me. don’t give a shit about the skin color of the actor as long as they embody the personality of the character and Kirby did that exactly that imo. Neil said a ton of people auditioned for that role and he thought Kirby was the right person for the job and I think he made a great decision.

She is perfect as Death. I literally cried the 10 minutes she was on screen. Her acting is very moving.
I don't get how people complained about that, given that Death didn't have a standard human skin tone (outside of people with albinism) in the comic to begin with, so it's not like she was white or black. Then again people also somehow managed to complain about "race-lifting" Starfire in Titans when she was cast with a non-white actress even though Comics Starfire is ORANGE. Orange! Clearly doesn't correspond to any real-world ethnicity. It's a "race-swap" just to cast a human actor in the role.
The fact that Boyd Holbrook is so quiet in this show makes me think if he is the same guy who played Corinthian in The Sandman.
Mason as Desire...knocked my breath away. Holy hell. Oozing sensuality with every word. Every sentence had a hidden meaning or purpose.
I'm so glad Tom is finally happy and he got some huge role to be known with cuz he was dissipated by most of small projects and people were wasting his potential. He really seem comfier now.
I think Morpheus is the character that I can relate to. He is so stoic and I can relate to his purpose finding. Plus I have a sister that I thought has the same personality as Death which I am grateful for. I am also happy that they chose the right actor to play Dream (and I think he's my new celebrity crush).

If we're tagging ourselves here - mans Hob Goblin is so relatable. Well, he's written to be relatable I guess. But what wouldn't I give to be around for the wild ride that is humanity's existence the way he gets to be.

All I felt was extreme rage when I kept watching and johanna didnt even appear for one second. Why does it even need to be romantic, johanna+morpheous duo had a good dynamic and actually got me to watch the show with attention. Loved them together, she could at least be part of the duo/team with dream, all of a sudden is was like she didn't exist 😭

Desire would take it into their confidence but the moment it works to their benefit, they'll backstab you and reveal said secret to someone. And then Patton said pretty much the same thing and I was like "see, Patton gets it! He knows!" Lol
