I do not have learning disabilities. I have stunted development. Having had a pathologically narcissistic mother who bulldozed and bullied me my entire childhood, I never even learned to communicate effectively. EVERYTHING I said was dismissed and disregarded. Growing up I wasn’t allowed a voice. Now I am actually learning that I have the RIGHT to be heard. It doesn’t mean I get everything I want. What it means is that I can express my preferences without being demeaned.
What a crappy mother I had. Thank you for this positive presentation.
