    1. We need to see ourselves; really, truly, deeply see ourselves for who and what we are in order to believe in ourselves.

    • @carsonhunt4642
      @carsonhunt4642 Год назад +4

      @@astin3407unfortunately most of the world doesn’t see it this way.
      When you are nervous it means you are not confident, and so the recipient(s) interpret your nervousness as weakness and makes them subconsciously already reject you/assume you don’t deserve it. Logically this makes sense, if u ask someone to do something dangerous it’s a good thing to detect their nervousness and then turn them down. It only sucks because it doesn’t work in our modern game of social politics.
      There’s also a massive side effect where ignorance is viewed as confidence which leads to incompetent people being perceived highly and getting a yes.

    Made me cry, about to start school and sometimes i feel too dumb to be there or like I won’t be able to handle it. Have to remember I’m there because I EARNED IT.

    I don’t know how she did it, but she just convinced me in 15 minutes I’m able to achieve anything in life, if I start believing in myself. The energy she holds is contagious. I believe everybody needs this kind of positivity in their lives.

    I do not regret clicking and listening to this. She had this aura, power and authenticity in her speech that hooked me. I got a lot of takeaways from it and once again we know why should we Believe in ourselves. " The greatest and the best relationship you will ever have will be with yourself. "

    Oh Sheryl Lee Ralph! I am so sorry that you went through what you went through! Your Ted talk is indeed inspiring and very thought provoking as I too am a woman of colour and it gives me hope that some day I will receive my flowers 💐. Thank you 😊. I remember watching you in Moesha and you portrayed Dee's character so well. This has to be, by far one of the most impactful Ted talks recorded.

    자신을 믿는 생각을 통해 성공한다, 라는 태도를 현실로 이루는 것은 정말 어렵고 힘든과정이란 것을 모두가 알기에 강연을 듣는 모든 순간 Sheryl Lee 당신이 존경스러웠습니다. "자신은 자신을 포기하지 않는다" 큰 교훈을 다시 한번 깨닫고 앞으로의 시간 속에서 저는 저 자신을 믿고 포기하지 않겠습니다, 감사합니다.

    🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Yaaassss 🎉 This is so appropriate wanted & Needed Thank you Mrs Sheryl Lee Ralph!!! I was about 7 yrs old, walking into the Beverly Center (A mall in California, circa '83)at the time there was a show on television called Fire Fox or either that was her character anyway, I was with my mother and as we walked in she was walking out and I did a double take with my mouth open not being able to utter a word, star struck I guess, and she looked back at me waved, smiled and gave me a wink!🤯 Her smile was so beautiful! It still is. Every time a baby or a small child notices me or we make eye contact I smile and give them a wink 🤗✌🏾

    I held back tears until what she said at the end. Then nothing could stop the waterfall. I have been broken by countless others of all ages, race, and gender. Physically and mentally abused since I was young. Being the first generation of this country. Doing my best to be a good child to my parents and now a good parent to my children. I have failed more times than I can count. I have not been and never will be perfect. I have regretted things that I have done and said, mostly due to the hurt inside that the world will never ever ever understand. And now I am about to sign a contract for the job I had fought for my entire life, against the entire world’s effort to stop me, to defeat me, to push me aside, and to destroy me from my dream. And now I am crying because I do not know how to appreciate good news after all the darkness. And that this speaker’s words to encourage and empower me to love and respect myself and to be kind to myself makes it impossible to not stop and cry. Tears of Joy.

    I have seen Sheryl Lee Ralph ever since her appearance on the very popular show at the time in 1984 called, "V", and I have been very impressed with her. I cannot believe how beautiful she still is. Maybe even more so now than then. We all have that little voice in the backs of our heads saying that we can't make it, or, it will never work. We need more people like her telling us, 'YES, WE CAN!!!"

    Ms Sheryl Lee Ralph is someone I've chosen to look up to because of how inspiring she is and what she stands for. A black woman in film and television who loves music and can sing. So many of her sayings stick in my brain every day and inspire me to keep going no matter how many no's or barries I come across. Whenever I hear her speak I feel her spirit coming through the screen. It's so powerful I think GOD may be talking through her sometimes and I'm not super religious but when you feel inspiration like that you can only think. I did some digging on her today and found out she has a book Diva 2.0 which I will be reading soon or listening to on audible. Her advice has done so much for me so I can only imagine what knowing her story will do for me. I hope I can meet her one day. She's truly a phenominal woman and very beautiful might I add.
